There is no way that they are so based as to end a show when it "should" end.
I saw the 2.5 seasons as a way to entice Disney to continue the show regardless of how season 2 turns out.
Remember that those 2.5 seasons don't include any non-story episodes so they will likely try to bargain for a third season and if its a no go they settle for ending the show with 2.5.

I would assume that the ghost world is a very dense place and that there are many people constantly asking them the same stupid questions about history so they frick off to the most empty realm of the ghost world.
I understand that there are financial limitations with character design and voicing but they could make an endless series about dead figures interacting but because there isn't "EVERYBODY" in that world its safe to assume that there is more than what we believe we are seeing.

Speculation time for S2 >The ghosts realizes there needs to be a council or its armaggeddon on the ghost realm >Scratch is promoted to Chairman and that makes him and Molly have to work around that to hang out, that’s the new normal >the house across Molly gets a new home and the autistic girl is the kid. She becomes Molly’s love interest
I know you would all hate this but I do believe it has a chance of happening >whole season has Molly and Scratch go Ghostbusters mode to prevent ghosts from blowing their cover in Brighton >Jinx decides to take over the ghost world to take her revenge and runs a campaign against Scratch. She wins by the season finale with aid of a human character who is like the evil version or Molly to her Scratch >Molly goes full Wraith mode to defeat Jinx. Shenanigans ensue and season finale has Molly stuck as a ghost while Scratch is back as a human, setting up S3
While I do think a lot of this is going to happen, mainly the Jinx getting her own Molly, and ghostbusting, I dont think Scratch will be Chairman, and Molly isnt getting a love interest and I doubt she will end up stuck as a ghost. The new (para)normal seems to be ghosts turning up more and more in the human world.
There are 2 official crew comments that make me think Molly will get a date >Ashly Burch in one of the first panels of the show stated there’s an improv segment with Scratch where Molly is stressed over someone important to her coming to her house. Ghost Libby looks especially squishy and blob like. It's cute. I'd think she'd have more of her sweater worked into her ghost form like Molly had her vest, but by the look of it this was fan art before we saw how wraith Molly really looked like. That is very likely. But that would be a bit surprising if they start the new season with her. I would think that would be more of a mid season thing. The start of this season already sort of feels like it has a bunch to do.

These are two different enough premises that there is really no issue that could affect ratings for either show.
They will likely air around the same time and 2 new episodes of tv shows are more worth waking up early for (3 if you count owlhouse) so ratings for both shows would actually be higher this way rather than one new molly and reruns of amphibia/sneed/owl

A background artist (or something similar) said it would be in the fall but Disney doesn't want to rush anything and they want to keep hype up so they will likely keep it under wraps until September
It takes about a year to make an episode according to them and considering how the episodes started October 1st that means we have like 2 months and I think 2 weeks of buffer to fall back on
I'm not sure how it is in the industry but at this point the animators are doing all the work now everything is up to them to ensure a fall release.
It's already competition because Disney Channel doesn't have infinite resources and has already shown preference for Dan's show like giving it 10 more episodes for season 1 before it even premieres.
Ok that's reasonable but you do have to also remember there are like 4 different new shows that were funded while the top people were going to give funding to molly, sneed, amphibia, owl, an everything else I didn't list.

Not a ride per se, but I've had an idea about a meet & greet if they ever decided to do more DTVA representation in the parks. Since a walk-around Scratch with legs would just look stupid, I was thinking something along the lines of Turtle Talk with Crush or Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, with a 2D Scratch being puppeteered on a screen by some underpaid cast member doing a half-baked Dana Snyder impression. Hell, if you wanna go the extra mile, replace the dated attractions with a new one, maybe with Molly trying to make people less scared of ghosts by having them interact with various ones from the show?

I had Scratch try to teach Molly to be scary in episode 19.
I had Molly become a ghost (Though technically not, she was dispossessed and only had limited ghost powers, No flight, and still had legs.)
And I had Molly gain a kind of super form but more based on Howling Harriet and Tug the Tornado, as opposed to what we got in the finale. ( She also didn't kill the villain and offered her a second chance, It was rejected so she ended up in the flow.)

I don't think there's any way to have living human Scratch interacting with any version of Molly without it feeling really weird. The show itself might have to figure that one out too depending on what happens later on.

I would assume that the ghost world is a very dense place and that there are many people constantly asking them the same stupid questions about history so they frick off to the most empty realm of the ghost world.
I understand that there are financial limitations with character design and voicing but they could make an endless series about dead figures interacting but because there isn't "EVERYBODY" in that world its safe to assume that there is more than what we believe we are seeing.

That is true, it was pretty quick the transition to Molly is a goofball to destroyer of worlds and then killing off this powerful almighty being. But they left doors open, they never really touched on who or what the chairman was, they left behind his cloak and made note of it, his absence will also lead to some trouble, its not all bad.

While I do think a lot of this is going to happen, mainly the Jinx getting her own Molly, and ghostbusting, I dont think Scratch will be Chairman, and Molly isnt getting a love interest and I doubt she will end up stuck as a ghost. The new (para)normal seems to be ghosts turning up more and more in the human world.

These are two different enough premises that there is really no issue that could affect ratings for either show.
They will likely air around the same time and 2 new episodes of tv shows are more worth waking up early for (3 if you count owlhouse) so ratings for both shows would actually be higher this way rather than one new molly and reruns of amphibia/sneed/owl
A background artist (or something similar) said it would be in the fall but Disney doesn't want to rush anything and they want to keep hype up so they will likely keep it under wraps until September
It takes about a year to make an episode according to them and considering how the episodes started October 1st that means we have like 2 months and I think 2 weeks of buffer to fall back on
I'm not sure how it is in the industry but at this point the animators are doing all the work now everything is up to them to ensure a fall release.
It's already competition because Disney Channel doesn't have infinite resources and has already shown preference for Dan's show like giving it 10 more episodes for season 1 before it even premieres.

Since a walk-around Scratch with legs would just look stupid, I was thinking something along the lines of Turtle Talk with Crush or Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, with a 2D Scratch being puppeteered on a screen by some underpaid cast member doing a half-baked Dana Snyder impression. Hell, if you wanna go the extra mile, replace the dated attractions with a new one, maybe with Molly trying to make people less scared of ghosts by having them interact with various ones from the show?

I had Molly become a ghost (Though technically not, she was dispossessed and only had limited ghost powers, No flight, and still had legs.)
And I had Molly gain a kind of super form but more based on Howling Harriet and Tug the Tornado, as opposed to what we got in the finale. ( She also didn't kill the villain and offered her a second chance, It was rejected so she ended up in the flow.)
