Holy shit the metaphor
Today's episodes were some of the most powerful pieces of children's television yet.
"Out of House and Home" was a fun episode with a very serious undertone on the American healthcare system. The McGees' struggle to pay the hospital bill is paired with Scratch's own struggles taking care of Pete. They are very relatable struggles, and when they reach the end and succeed, it definitely feels satisfying.
Alas, they are blindsided. It turns out that the McGees haven't been able to pay the mortgage, so they are forced to leave their home. With the characters and the show changed, it is gut wrenching and painful to see it happen, and makes the episode a powerful tragedy.
Right afterwards, we go into "Home is Where the Haunt Is", and we see a family on the edge, especially Molly. Molly pretends everything is fine, but both the viewers and the characters in-universe know she's in trouble. And who wouldn't be for her?
Eventually, the mask slips, and when the rest of the town finds out, we've got a powerful image of the town coming together to help them. The flashbacks showing how Brighton has changed the McGees, how much they changed Brighton were sublime.
Put together, this was a powerful episode set and a thrilling show, and a great hard-hitter on American children's television. For that, they get a 10/10 from me.

The Davenports literally saved christmas, stop pretending you’re engaging with this show in any way that isn’t seething about Andrea you frickwit
It's decent but the problem is that the dilemma got immediately resolved in the same episode when they probably should have made the "leaving Brighton" plot last into the finale.
Actually the next episode is literally about Molly wanting to capture the "perfect moment" with Libby and Scratch and I think it would work way better had it been her last day with them before the McGees seemingly move out of town. I thought that was what they were going for but apparently not.
See I fricking told everyone that Andrea's subplot was gonna overshadow the entire overarching storyline involving Scratch considering how the whole point of Scratch's Arc is he keep lying and digging himself a deeper hole with the Ghost Council since he keeps sending in falsified reports and inconsistences and flat out telling them things that are completely untrue like how the McGee's are his servants.
I thought what the original idea was going to be was that the Council loves this idea of treating humans like slaves that they rule out of fear and because of this they we're gonna give scratch a job appointing other ghosts with human families and have them be their designated scarers like how in Monsters Inc they appoint certain monsters to certain doors
They could have even done a bit with Mr Davenport selling Ghost Hunting equipment for outlandish prices which everyone buys because they want the ghosts gone from their house.

Yes although the "leaving Brighton" plot could have lasted until next episode, like a proper two-parter.
I get your point but I think there's merit in making the shooting star their last meaningful interaction before the finale.
I mean to integrate the shooting star into the house subplot, so now the episode will be about Molly trying to make a great memory with her friends during her last day in town. Then the moment where the townspeople band together to save the McGees happens in the next day at the end.

Well, we don't know if it hasn't spread yet. It could very well be a starter for a future episode plot. It may have only been a week or so of scaring from Scratch and those people were probably out of town-ers so I doubt they would have said anything to let the people of Brighton Know.

If Andrea now wants to consider Molly like a real friend and not a Fandrea which is not the same thing then the dynamic becomes Molly educating and likely failing to show Andrea there are more important things then ponies and spending all day on your phone.
This also will determine what kind of structure they wanna write with Andrea's family since if the Davenports dont mind the McGee's even if they're poor then its a Fairly Odd Parents situation where Pete and Mr Davenport are "friends" in the sense that Davenport likes to show off all his nice material possessions to Pete just to make him feel financially inferior.
andrea probably has a "pet friend" attitude towards molly for a while that causes molly to explode (libby probably gets annoyed at her butting into their adventures) probably gonna be some gags where violence occurs (to libby) as a result of andrea's airheaded meddling to try to get molly into shots with her for likes and retweets.
So she's replacing Libby because Libby has made it abundantly clear that is what Libby was but since Andrea is too high maintenance for her according to Andrea, Libby "blew her chance at popularity."
This is Molly now. They can do dynamics with this where Libby gets jealous at the idea of Molly is her actual friend but Andrea is rich so Molly can do more stuff she couldn't do before because Andrea can provide her with whatever she wants if she plays her cards right.

It was a while ago. I believe her last appearance was in Goat Your Own way with her goat and Molly getting upset at her. She got a surprising amount of time this episode. She got lines in one and a whole scene in the first segment and she got to show up in that final scene together with everyone. I'm glad for it.

Yeah, she was supposed to be. So was Andrea and Kat as well. I have a feeling that friends group idea was from early on in the planning stages and was probably dropped in the final show. Right now it seems like her and Kat are more like elevated background girls.

It seems the writers needed a catalyst to get the McGees out of their home, but making Pete lose their home was odd. These new episode are lacking something. I really hope it gets back on track soon.

I think the fresh premise has kinda worn off because of, ironically something I liked about the show, Molly and Scratch's friendship being so quick. It was fun in the baseball episode time when Scratch was trying to corrupt Molly and still sabatoge her a bit for fun. But, recently he's been so ride or die for her he's more like a macguffin sprouting, cool Uncle. Dana Snyder's most fun roles have been when he's cynical and dry so him (even though I like his character)being so wholesome throws the show balance off a bit. I think we might NEED a new (Para) normal next season.

I'm torn, on one hand I like the idea she's getting friendlier with Molly, on the other hand I liked the bully/butthole aspect she had at the begining of the show. Wish we got to see it more before this. But eh, I'm still happy to see her getting on with Molly (means she has more reason to appear as well)
The only thing that really seemed to bring about her cruel side was the name thing. Otherwise, she never really came off as deliberately mean, just rather self-absorbed and vain. I thought the scene at the end was really nice though, showing that she does genuinely appreciate what Molly has done for her.
I thought both of the episodes (though it was more like one big ep split into two) were great, by the way. Episodes with Libby, Andrea, and the family are so much better than with, say, Weird Larry. I think even Darryl is starting to grow on me.
Darryl hasn't been that bad, he's a pretty solid role player actually. Pete though has gradually started to morph into an even more pathetic version of Oscar Proud.

The problem with that mindset is that they'll probably run out of good story beats or episodes when they actually get renewed
TLH had this problem with a tonal shift and lack of sense of direction of Savino got mehturded. The actual production of the episodes themselves and the cast behind them seemed fine, but the episodes were just boring and uninteresting. Flip for instance has basically Mr. Crocker'd that show, and don't get me started on Lincoln's shitty friend group.

I always said in defense of this show since 2017, "they KNOW they're gonna get to 10+ seasons. So they're gonna sprinkle in sister centric episodes every season so they don't run out of fun things to do." They don't want a Simpsons or Spongebob situation.
