It was a big mistake by Tony he was biased. He personally disliked Ralphie so he whacked him, but he refused to whack the gay Vito. The girl was just an excuse.
Richie was only really an butthole to Beansie which should have been approached differently by Tony, also he shouldn't have given away the jacket like that. Resolve the Beansie issue and you've got a fine earner who does stuff the old school way. He would have paired well with that old coot who lasted 4 episodes.
Better question: How would Ralphie had dealt with the NY family while Phil was boss?
Did the Mason lamps guy bring in enough money?
No. He came from jail and was b***hing about how it wasn't the same as it was before. Janice eliminating him was a streak of luck for Tony.
Cheech also came from jail and couldn't adapt, so they eliminated him too.
There is no honour among thieves. You needed a particular skillset to stay on top and Tony was very good at walking a delicate cord. In his best moments anyway. He got a shit ton of luck throughout the show too.

Respect your elders or you better come in heavy next time. Oh Wait. My sweet varsity child.
>Richie was only really an butthole to Beansie which should have been approached differently by Tony
Are we forgetting him selling coke on garbage routes despite being told by the fricking boss to knock it off like 3+ times? An Old School mafioso would have gutted Richie after the first time. Same with him ruining the executive game. Yeah, he was right to want his money back, but he cost Tony god knows how much by going in there are instantly getting violent. Again, an older boss would have fricking murked him then and there.
Tony was a horrible boss. He could have raised Chris to be a better boss than he was. Christopher started at the bottom, was a great soldier. And thick as a brick. But he was malleable and open to lessons.
Tony ruined that, like you said, through his own doing.
>But he was malleable and open to lessons. >This Little Carmine shit is real bad, if it comes up you clam up >you got it T. >first thing he does is tell the boss of a NY family he should share power with Little Carmine, the one thing he was warned in advance not to say
He made two or three of the same mistakes. I think he could have unlearned that mentality. He was a nickle and diming hoodrat. He could've learned what 'Omerta' means.
I agree he was a bad boss. But I think one of his big errors was to make the idiot big nose into his protegee, he should have kept chris as a simple soldier.
Richie reminds me too much of my alcoholic psycho uncle so I don't think I can really enjoy his character.
Ralphie is the best simply because he was funny unlike Mr. "20 years in the can"
>Richie
Should have just put the jacket in a pace of prominance and sucked it up. >Ralphie
Just give him the captaincy and have someone keep tabs on him. >Phil
Should have sided with Sack in the NY civil war.
Phil was an extremely underwhelming final antagonist, so one-note that the biggest fanbase joke is that he repeats one line like a dozen times. They even make fun of it in the show. Zero connection to Tony, very few actually iconic scenes- the entire "war" is built up to be a huge dramatic thing and Chase never pulled it off well.
Sopranos is the best show ever but I think it's legitimately bad at engaging episode-to-episode plot progression. The pacing never speeds up where it should and the show refuses to do cliffhangers. 20 years in the fricking can.
Richie Aprile is a stone cold motherfricker
The show died when they killed off Ralphie
It was a big mistake by Tony he was biased. He personally disliked Ralphie so he whacked him, but he refused to whack the gay Vito. The girl was just an excuse.
Which one was to most detrimental to Tony's reing, you mean? Carmella said Tony need to keep an eye on Vito.
Neither of these three were lose cannons. Christopher was probably the biggest threat, because of drugs.

Ralphie would have turncoated immediately
He tried to with John but the Ginny joke burnt that bridge I think, you mean he would flip to the police or switch sides?
Nah, nobody else cared about the ginny joke but Sack and he's dying of cancer.
Ralphie could join NY ez. He was a top earner.
Did the Mason lamps guy bring in enough money?

Yeah Phil as boss would respect Ralphie's earnings. He'd tell him to kill Tony and back him up if any other NJ member had a problem with it.

Tony alienated Chris by his own doing.

think we can all agree that S3 Ralphie > S4 Ralphie right?
What are you, a vegetarian? You eat beef and sausage by the fricking carload.
Whatever happened there?
Best character in the sopranos.
Richie reminds me too much of my alcoholic psycho uncle so I don't think I can really enjoy his character.

>Ralphie is the best simply because he was funny unlike Mr. "20 years in the can"
Ralphie > Richie > Phil
Ralphie's the funniest.
Richie's the most intimidating.
Phil's the most memeable.
Frick marry kill
Phil>Ralphie>>>>>>>>>
Noah>Ritchie>Jackie Jr.>Philly>Ralphie
Richie was a great character and very well cast. Frightening psycho

Tony was moronic.

I think the one where he metamorphs into a house is pretty memorable.
They lost their momentum early-on with merchand dying right as the courtroom arc was about to kick off. They never really recovered from it.
All great but Ralphie is the best character on the show.
