There really isn't much of a debate here if you're comparing cartoons. Now if it's just the concepts of the teams I'm still gonna give it to the Justice League.
>One of the most recognizable cartoons in history which shaped the cultural perception of the characters for generations
vs >What's the name of this iteration of Avengers, again?
>>One of the most recognizable cartoons in history which shaped the cultural perception of the characters for generations
Holy fricking cope. It was an average early 2000s cartoon for babies and not even the most important series in the DCAU. It averaged a little over 1 million viewers per episode by JLU. For context shit little Smallvile was averaging 5-6 million at the same time.
the entire point was that no one watches cartoons for babies and that it's therefore impossible for it to have "shaped the cultural perception of the characters for generations." But okay, let's try an animated show for comparison. Specifically a DC animated show released around the same time. Batman: The Brave and the Bold averaged two million viewers. Let's try another non-DC one: Ben 10 averaged 4 million.
Honestly that's what would bump them to second place. First season is almost flawless, such great superhero action and story telling. I still get chills seeing the clip from the finale when a skrull knocks out Captain America and takes over his identity.
The Monkey episode with Macho Man Randy Savage was a direct rip from a Thing or F4 comic too, I forget which. That's still one of my favorite episodes.
JL/JLU is probably in the top 3 greatest cartoons of all time, but I fricking love Avengers EMH. Could've rivaled it if it hadn't gotten murdered by Loeb.
It feels like they were planning for a 4th but it got cancelled and had to shove a lot of plot into the season which meant plot lines would be reduced. I mean Darksied/Brainiac doesn't even get a two parter series finale and the whole thing with Luthor seeking the anti-life equation in under a minute to save the day felt like an entire episode got cut.
Probably, but Supes could take him in an aerial battle, Jon'zz can shapeshift and trick him, and Steward should be able to toss him with the ring power into space
I'll give credit where it's due; X-Men cartoon still holds up in the sense that its subject matter and voice acting are top notch. Having a cartoon that actually touched on unwanted children, doubt and faith in God, unrequited love and racism was really impressive, even if some of the arcs had to be toned down to more family friendly viewing. I'd recommend it still. I don't think it's as good as Batman TAS but what honestly fricking is?
I just have trouble with the animation. Individual drawings are fine and such, but there's this floatyness to everything that makes it hard to watch. I think it's the first episode where Wolverine is flung towards a wall, and it's like he's on the moon or something with the speed he flies through the air before hitting the wall.
>watch JL/I >everyone not Batman or Flash are boring as hell >Superman is a massive jobber >Wonder Woman is there just to tease WonderBat >Batman Beyond is ruined because Bruce Timm can't stop self inserting
Justice League: >flying brick >flying brick with a lasso >flying brick with a mace >flying brick with telepathy >speedster who's only slightly faster than the flying brick >guy who can make anything but goes for boring solid shapes >and finally a normal guy in tights who can somehow survive against superman level villains
The Avengers >super soldier with an unbreakable shield >flying brick with magical powers >non-flying brick who makes up for it by being really strong >techguy in power armor >guy who can change size and control ants >girl who can change size and has zap guns >guy with a bunch of meme arrows >and finally a roided out black guy wearing a metal fursuit.
The Avengers are a far more interesting team because they specialize in some niche areas and thus have to be creative to save the day.
The Avengers were always the poor man's Justice League. Even during the early 2000s, the Avengers were basically the team you read on when you're not reading about the superior X-Men.

Not very great when one is clearly superior.

For the worst honestly.

And now cartoons average 0.1M
>comparing a cartoon to a live-action, teen targeted show on a much more popular channel
jesus you're dumb

it hasn't even been a generation since JLU ended
The one with BatGod
duh
EMH got so fricked. Really so sad.
Honestly that's what would bump them to second place. First season is almost flawless, such great superhero action and story telling. I still get chills seeing the clip from the finale when a skrull knocks out Captain America and takes over his identity.
Saw this one before I even knew the Avengers existed, somehow still holds up even without knowing it's an Avengers parody.
The Monkey episode with Macho Man Randy Savage was a direct rip from a Thing or F4 comic too, I forget which. That's still one of my favorite episodes.
I love both, but I gotta say JL/JLU is the better show
Both are good and it's a shame they ended they could both be kept up to this day.
I don't hate any Avengers, but I only like Superman, Flash and Batman from that photo.
After the Avengers and MCU movies. Nobody will remember who the hell the people on top half are.
Superman and Batman are always going to be iconic, moron
Top easily
Frick, I meant bottom
Marvel is nothing but a bunch of radioactive gaygors
JL/JLU is probably in the top 3 greatest cartoons of all time, but I fricking love Avengers EMH. Could've rivaled it if it hadn't gotten murdered by Loeb.
this is the better team regardless of show quality
Avengers EMH quality really went down in its second season, whereas Justice League stayed awesome throughout its 5 five seasons, so no competition
I feel season 3 of Unlimited was a step down, though we still got some classic episodes out of it, such as the The Great Brain Robbery.
It feels like they were planning for a 4th but it got cancelled and had to shove a lot of plot into the season which meant plot lines would be reduced. First season was pretty awkward and janky. The latest season felt weird after it all reached its climax with the end of the Cadmus arc.
JL has at least three answers to the Hulk on their team, Avengers would be lucky to subdue superman
Hulk rapes wonder woman no contest
Probably, but Supes could take him in an aerial battle, Jon'zz can shapeshift and trick him, and Steward should be able to toss him with the ring power into space
Can MM manipulate minds? He might be able to just calm Hulk down psychically.
martian manhunter would have a panic attack if he gets into hulks mind
Was the only time his psychic powers actually worked when he gave Amazo his abilities and told him to read Luthor's mind?
Nah, he ripped some intel out of Thanagiaran captain and left him a vegetable along with doing some shit with Dr Destiny.
Batman thats it's all.
DCAU shits all over marvel cartoons.
90's Spider-man is awesome, but has animation issues. 90's X-men cartoon... I haven't rewatched, I really should.
I'll give credit where it's due; X-Men cartoon still holds up in the sense that its subject matter and voice acting are top notch. I'd be happy if it was just more consistent than Batman TAS
It has some spectacular episodes and then there's shit that put me to sleep.
>"great debate"
hardly, anyone with a brain can't deny the objective answer is JLU
Justice league takes it, but out of all the characters there Captain America is still my favorite
Justice League. EMH is still good, but JL had higher quality writing while EMH felt more like a standard superhero show at times.
JL better storytelling I think, it's been a while. EMH was just funny as frick.
>you left Hulk in the pool
>IT FROZE
Relative to the quality of other shows, EMH stands out amongst Marvel cartoons
>watch JL/I
>everyone not Batman or Flash are boring as hell
>Superman is a massive jobber
>Wonder Woman is there just to tease WonderBat
>Batman Beyond is ruined because Bruce Timm can't stop self inserting
EMH had better storylines and self contained arcs but JL(U) had better self contained episodes
EMH has the better intro
Better than the JL opening, but not the JLU one.
BTAS > EMH > STAS > JL/JLU
Spectacular>the rest
The MTV show mogs Spectacular
Supes could solo them
Well one has every member of the team being an asset and the other has Hawkeye
Justice League:
>flying brick
>flying brick with a lasso
>flying brick with a mace
>flying brick with telepathy
>speedster who's only slightly faster than the flying brick
>guy who can make anything but goes for boring solid shapes
>and finally a normal guy in tights who can somehow survive against superman level villains
The Avengers
>super soldier with an unbreakable shield
>flying brick with magical powers
>non-flying brick who makes up for it by being really strong
>techguy in power armor

Avengers:
>does not have Booster Gold
The Avengers were always the poor man's Justice League. Even during the early 2000s, the Avengers were basically the team you read on when you're not reading about the superior X-Men.
The only times X-Men has ever been better than the concurrent Avengers run was early Claremont, heroes reborn, and Aaronvengers.
I liked EMH, but they abussed of the "it was not me, it was an impostor" plot
ENTER
dogshit
Busiek's Avengers and New Avengers were better than anything the X-Men did in the 2000s.
>characters
DC heroes are the apex superheroes
>team
Avengers. Better dynamics
>shows
Season 1 of EMH > JLU > Season 2 of EMH > JL
