I dont watch movies for sexual pleasure you dumbass, I want a story, also >no ass >no tits >no hips >man jaw
if I didnt know who she was I would assume this were a tranny
Alien's is based because the kinkiness is intertwined with the plot/alien design. You can get your rocks off while still being terrified of Ripley's sexual fate when you switch out of the aggressor POV and into the victim
Those are both great movies.
Are you asking which is better?
That's a tough question. They're both such great movies.
Alien probably has better overall acting from the entire cast. The horror aspects of both films: paranoia and body horror are both done incredibly well, that they are near the peak of that types of horror. The practical effects are better in The Thing, but the Setting and Set Design are better in Alien. The soundtrack is a little better in The Thing, but Sound Effects are better in Alien.
I would probably rank The Thing slightly higher than Alien, but it's a toss up. I love them both.
I disagree that it is too slow.
The plot takes it's time getting to where it's going, but at no time is it boring. All the scifi kino, in the spaceship, hibernation wakeup, descending to the planet, exploring the planet and ship, etc. is either exciting or interesting sci fi. I literally cannot imagine being bored by this, unless you 1. are a woman; 2. have adhd; 3. already have seen it or been exposed to it indirectly before. I wouldn't be surprised by the last one, as Alien pretty much set the bar for space sci fi during its time, and most things afterward were influenced by it.
The Alien design is good, but I agree the costume does look a little goofy in hindsight after seeing how good the aliens in Aliens and AVP look in comparison.
All that being said, The Thing has its share of flaws too: >The computer analyzing the chances of infecting the entire world scene. >Brimley building a flying saucer >why were Kurt Russell's bloody clothes found in the snow if he was never The Thing? Does the Thing know it's the Thing or not? Seems like the answer to that question changes several times.
Talking about flaws, the paper thin walls that the Thing breaks through after the interrogation scene, despite this supposedly being an Antarctica science base.
kek. you know I'm right. Go ahead and watch it again. It always makes me life when the Thing busts through that quarter inch of drywall and is immediately outside in the snow.
Not to be a homosexual and post a Youtube review, but this guy does a really good review of Alien's Sound design and body horror. He makes a lot of really good points for why Alien is underrated in its sound design, and is actually one of the peak examples of using sound to generate horror.
On this note, Carpenter's soundtrack for the Thing is top of its class as well in its understated tension-building paranoia. I just love both of these movies so much.
>The Thing is a bigger threat than the xenomorph. Fight me.
The Xenomoprh feels like the perfect bio-weapon counter to The Thing. Due its acid blood for the Thing to assimilate it would be very, very difficult. Not impossible, but difficult. If anyone ever writes a cross over that should be the basis; the Thing is a galaxy wide threat and the Xenomorphs were created as a counter to it.
the thing is instantly better because its an all male cast
Enjoying pride month, homosexual?
obsessed
>he explicitly admits he prefers an all male cast to this
I do not find Sigourney Weaver attractive.
You like men, we know.
No, I like attractive women, not ugly ones. Ripley and Lambert are unappealing. I'd rather fuck my hand or that blow up doll MacReady has.
I wonder what women say about you.
>He's really quiet.
>He's awkward.
>He makes me uncomfortable.
It's not gay to want to fuck Kurt Russel tbh.
Not even slightly attractive. Never was.

Alien doesn't have a story?
I liked the story of the thing better

t. rapist
>all male cast
I consider this one of my favorite movies of all time didn't notice this detail, time for a rewatch
Those are both great movies.

I can't remember a single theme from Alien, but Morricone's score for The Thing is truly excellent.
We had this debate yesterday.
We need more debating, as no consensus was reached.
Alien = Reddit
The Thing = Kino
Hope this helps.
They're both great in their own way, it's hard for me to compare them even.
If I had kids though I'd be more inclined to show them Alien at an early age over The Thing.
Alien 1 is painfully slow and the Alien looks like a goofy cosplayer

Yes, it always knows who it is it's just a perfect actor.
Talking about flaws, the paper thin walls that the Thing breaks through after the interrogation scene, despite this supposedly being an Antarctica science base.
Get the fuck out of this thread right goddamn right now.

Predator >>>
/thread
The Thing is much better
The thing
The real answer is obviously Predator.
the thing
Alien is one trick pony
Thing from the other hand is fucking wild card.
The thing, kurt is way cooler than anyone in alien
This one terrifies me
Alien is way better. The Thing vs Aliens makes sense, they are closer together in quality
Alien is excellent but The Thing has better pacing and more ambitious practical effects.
The Thing is a bigger threat than the xenomorph. Fight me.

The thing still holds up in terms of effects even to current day. I re-watched alien and the alien was pretty shit and not scary at all
