I stopped watching NuTrek a couple of years ago after the first season of Picard and I refuse to subject myself to any more of it so the Orville wins by default.
Same. Orville at least is watchable, you can foresee a development if being optmistic. Star Trek is made with contempt for the source material, and there is no way around that.
Same. Orville at least is watchable, you can foresee a development if being optmistic. Star Trek is made with contempt for the source material, and there is no way around that.
Strange New Worlds is a better show made by worse people. That's the God's honest truth. The Orville means well, but it's just not good and that gave nuTrek the opportunity to at least make one decent, sincere show and dab all over The Boreville.
Why did they fly into the giant evil looking alien butthole in the first place with no protection when they were just warned by the Krill that there were evil ayys that would try to kill them? >hur dur we're explorers
Frick off, show.
They scanned with their sensors, and it looked clean. They're potentially about to meet someone that is already there. The Krill are religious nuts. "Evil looking" is culturally relative.
What a cope. They were literally warned about supernatural aka not-conventionally-living things that would harm them. They encounter Evil McSpookyship and then bumble their way through all manner of danger while they put two-and-two together Scooby Doo style along the way >hey, maybe these aren't conventional lifeforms and that's what the Krill meant
The Orville is not a good Star Trek alternative. It's fricking dumb.
There's no such thing as the supernatural. No demons, ghosts, leprechauns, or werewolves.

Watch the episode, numbnuts. They were supernatural from the perspective of the Krill then the crew was like Science! while literally doing everything wrong and stupidly the entire episode.

Opposite for me. Orville is way more soulful than the overproduced ultramodern sleek design of nuTrek.
Orville is simple but cohesively stylized, and it looks like actual living spaces that people would try to create for interstellar living.

Orville has already cemented itself as a worthy successor of Trek. It's genuinely on par or better than VOY.
I had a big issue when all the main characters left the Orville to explore that ship. Not even Kelly stayed behind, which as number two she should have. I did smile when they came back and I was able to guess who all was going back, with added protection. Characters making logical decisions in Sci fi always makes me happy
This is actually pretty accurate. Orville dicked around for too long and Seth obviously has no real interest in the setting as shown by his lackluster world-building. It gave Paramount enough time to course-correct and actually start making Star Trek again.
>It gave Paramount enough time to course-correct and actually start making Star Trek again.
Make it for who now that STD and Picard have driven off a sizeable chunk of the audience?
For me. I stopped watching nuTrek halfway through STD S1, watched some Picard, but otherwise dropped it. I hated it. But I think noping the frick out actually meant Im not giga triggered by a lot of it, either. It's not Star Trek yet but it's a good show.
SNW could frick up at any moment but they've been knocking it out of the park the past few weeks. Last week's crinkly forehead aliens were exactly what I would expect TNG "aliens" of the week to look like this many decades later. It's not perfect and they need to fix some things but it's growing on me more every week. I even have sympathy for the black doctor guy who was in DUNC. I was weary of the "character arcs" at the beginning but this dude is making me feel his pain. Slays with a fricking look while Seth McFarlane and J. Lee on The Orville couldn't act if their lives depended on it.
same here for the most part. I'm liking SNW and operating on the same premise that I'd drop it immediately if goes STD.
So far so good, I hope they keep it up and have more episodes for season two.
Can you make a longer one of the intro, including that part but going on for a bit longer?

It would be more work than it's worth but i'd cut up the intro into each sequence and then cut those individuals sequences down. There's a lot of padding in there.
I would rather watch TOS on repeat forever than another episode of nutrek. I know trek has always been progressive in nature but the new stuff is get woke go broke level.
No one thought the Gorn episode was "pointless fluff". They've only had one light episode. You're completely lying about The Orville also. The premiere was fricking stupid and the second episode was fricking stupid. The first episode was an hour long "character episode" where Isaac is terminally autistic so didn't learn anything and the new girl literally turns to the camera at the end as says "I regret nothing" so didn't develop either. It was a waste of time.
The second episode was just across the board full of stupid things the crew does and also wastes an inordinate amount of time on Dr. Finn's love life, which I guess is the new Bortus' gay sex trope we get to harp on for an entire season. This is what I waited 3 years and did countless shilling for? Dusty boomer c**ts sipping wine and gossiping? God, Seth is such a gay.
It fell into the serialized trap. The closest SNW has gotten to serialized so far is having those "previously on" bits at the beginning but other than that every episode has been self-contained.
I do not understand where they think they're going with this character bullshit with so few episodes to work with. I don't give a single fart about Claire's love life. I will never care about any of these characters enough to care about any of that. Yet so far in S3 I have sat through 2 episodes in a row of Dr. Finn's personal romantic drama. I dgaf. This is not what I signed up for when I agreed to shill for Seth's Trek-like show.
The gorn episode was time wasted. Noise and motion with no point. No suspense and nothing worthwhile. The whole concept was derivative. They tried to use dialog to tell the gullible that it was "submarine warfare", because they lacked the skill to show anything of the type. The concept was derivate, and did a poor job of imitating the episodes they were stealing from.
You're just complaining to complain. If they would have "done something different" you would have knocked them for that as well.

>The plot of season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery was inspired by Le Guin's short story,[12] as was the episode "Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach" of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.[13][14]
nuTrek is so creatively bankrupt they plagiarized the same story TWICE back to back without skipping a plot beat.
I don't understand why they have to use that cheap "Fox comedy lighting". It's not even a callback to TNG's lighting techniques, it's just so static and tacky. They should've fired whoever does their lighting years ago.
I will give it to The Orville they may not get the lighting quite right but they get the sounds of the footfalls on carpet exquisitely perfect. With all these gay character moments there are a lot of characters walking quietly in rooms and you can hear that soft footsteps on carpet sounds and it's just orgasmic.
>I don't understand why they have to use that cheap "Fox comedy lighting"
There is absolutely nothing wrong with TNG's lighting. Stop being one of those people that thinks media needs to be desaturated and dark.
Orville is genuinely great.
I'm about to finish Season 2 and there were so many great episodes this season, some even comparable to TNG imo like Episode 7 "Deflectors", Episode 11 "Lasting Impressions" etc.
Whatever Strange New Worlds and the rest of nuTrek are, they're not Trek.
>Those were the ones straight up ripping off better TNG episodes.
They weren't, because I've seen all of TNG.
Deflectors is closest to the episode The Outcast from TNG, but not only is everything aside from certain plot points radically different, Deflectors was also much better than The Outcast.
Lasting Impressions is also not a clear 'ripoff' of any story from TNG either. It has similarities with Geordi/Riker falling in love with simulated women and some of the time travel episodes (though Lasting Impressions doesn't actually feature any time travel). It's like a synthesis of various scifi concepts (it has stuff in common with 10th Doctor Tennant/Moffat episodes like Girl in the Fireplace etc). Regardless, it's not a ripoff.
Orville feels like the shitty knockoff it is, and all actual new trek is just plain shit, even if SNW is the least shit of the shit pile. None of it's worth watching.
Orville > any Kurtzman has ever done, and the nutrek trannies are pathetically transparent in their shilling they read like bot comments on reddit with all of the over the top disenguous bullshit praise of nutrek to their mundane nitpicks of Orville.
>mundane nitpicks
I get that you believe in what it represents and you want to like it but The Orville is just not a good show. It's just bad. Half the scenes are people sitting in lounges or offices talking over booze.
>I get that you believe in what it represents and you want to like it but The Orville is just not a good show. It's just bad. Half the scenes are people sitting in lounges or offices talking over booze.
This. Boreville is a show for wine aunts.
>orshill desperately trying to get people to watch a show everyone else already forgot
Imagine bringing a show back just to get it canceled a second time.
>Within a month of being out, SNW completely mogged and buried it.
Agreed. Seth just let his own show twist in the wind and all Paramount had to do was hand a different set of nuTrek writers the keys to a show and say "don't frick this up on purpose like every other nuTrek". I don't even get the sense they're trying *that* hard.
Really fricking hate Orville ship designs, they're just so homosexual with those stupid rings. Hero ships should look sturdy and intrepid like they're bringing order to the galaxy, not like spreading their beef flaps at you like a roastie stripper.
Worst of all, they all fricking look the same. They're all just scaled-up/down versions of the Orville. Pure laziness. They also have really stupid generic names like "Exploratory" and "Science" class. The only exception ismaybe the larger Leviathan-class but it just makes the setting feel so underbaked like Seth doesn't really give a frick about world-building.
It's so obvious he was disappointed that he couldn't do real Trek and eventually lost hope in trying to do a cheap facsimile of it.
The production design on Orville is just cheap and soulless. I don't know if it's just the budget but I think even with a small budget you could pull off a better design if you put your heart into it. It seems the only direction they had was make it look like tng without ripping it off right away, oh and avoid expensive curves. Also the direction and filming looks amatueurish. The way the shots are executed, what is this some hobbyists first go at shooting a show? It looks like a fanfilm sometimes. And the line delivery and timing? Almost looks like every line was shot separately.
Yeah it's pretty obvious Seth wanted to care for a while but eventually realized he wanted to do real Trek and knew his show would always just be a degraded knockoff.
Opposite for me. Orville is way more soulful than the overproduced ultramodern sleek design of nuTrek.

Look at all the fricking visual noise on the SNW bridge. It's as if Alienware or AMD designed a bridge for edgy 13 year olds. Imagine you were trying to monitor a single light alarm from across the room amidst all these other redundant lights and their reflections. Going to work every day would be a living hell.
[...] >fewer seasons than ENT

It's not about how many seasons a TV show gets, it's about how good it was.
My favourite shows only have 1 season and tell a complete story from beginning to end.
>It's not about how many seasons a TV show gets, it's about how good it was. >My favourite shows only have 1 season and tell a complete story from beginning to end.
Yeah it's weird that most shows have abandoned the episodic formula but still want to last 5+ seasons without enough ideas to carry it through. It is very impressive when it's pulled off but studios keep shooting themselves in the foot over and over with these thin premises.
Episodic shows still make bank, but have mostly been relegated to cheap reality shows. I hope someone finally rediscovers that a modest budget + episodic can work.
I've not interacted with a single person who likes the show that also likes the bridge. The opinion almost universally is that it's garish and over-done. It's distracting and makes even close shots nearly unwatchable. You're not making any point that everyone isn't already aware of. The bridge sucks. But the show is great.
the fact they are making a deal about it is all I need to know after STD and SPIC

Oh.
That's a really small part of The Orville overall, even if you take an average from 5 episodes.
SNW has it CONSTANTLY.
Boreville is literally just retreading ground for the sake of what was a cute throw-away sub-plot last season but doing it for REALSIES SUPER CEREAL NO COMEDY this time and it's embarrassing.
I didn't move goalposts. I said SNW was FULL of dimly lit wine-drinking relationship drama, which it is, and Orville isn't not even remotely. >Character moments in SNW actually mean something
Yea it means it's a garbage show for wine-aunts, not the people who liked old Trek.

Did you watch ANY of SNW? Incredibly bold of you to accuse another show of retreading old ground.
holy shit what a cope. >herp derp lets walk into this evil space station of death unprotected that we were warned about and poke evil alien spores >what could go wrong?
SNW is unwatchable. It was teetering on the edge of barely watchable for the first two episodes. But then they double downed on the dimly lit room wine-drinking, talking about feelings, self doubt, instead of you know, actually BOLDLY GOING and having adventures in the woods.
Made for cosmopolitan women and wine aunts.
>I liked the first episode, but it was bait and switch homosexualry after that just as expected. >bait and switch
I keep seeing that in regards to Strange New Worlds. QRD?
I've only seen the first episode, but there were far too many horrible actresses in prominent roles.

One out of how many? Because SNW can't go 20 minutes without a scene like that.
>t. orshill
Imagine thinking a lame office dramady about gay buttsecks and wine sipping old hags on a spaceship is better than SNW's shockingly good first season so far.
>Because SNW can't go 20 minutes without a scene like that.
That's two scenes per episode. That's not a lot. The Boreville is often scene after scene of characters in rooms talking. Entire episodes often have the plot moving based solely on characters sperging about their feelings. It's just not a good show. Meanwhile, Strange New Worlds has had Pike and Spock solve their problems by fricking women, punching people, or waving their metaphorical dicks around. Consequently, I've literally started to tear-up on multiple occasons.
>Strange New Worlds has had Pike and Spock solve their problems by fricking women, punching people, or waving their metaphorical dicks around
sounds like the antithesis to trek, besides the original series
>The Boreville is often scene after scene of characters in rooms talking
Ala TNG. And it's not boring because the writing is good and each talking scene is pivotal to the plot in some way. >Entire episodes often have the plot moving based solely on characters sperging about their feelings
That's SNW and PIC, not Orville or TNG. >It's just not a good show. Meanwhile, Strange New Worlds has had Pike and Spock solve their problems by fricking women, punching people, or waving their metaphorical dicks around. Consequently, I've literally started to tear-up on multiple occasons.
Not a good description from what I've seen of SNW so far in 6 episodes. SNW is a show for wine-aunts who love romance, so yes there's fricking, but otherwise the plot and dialogue is completely vapid.
it's funny how so much of the main orville characters seem very stoic now, especially seth's 2nd in command

Because the writing is inconsistent and lazy. When they replaced, they didn't even bother changing the scripts beyond switching out the names and it shows.
>Ala TNG. And it's not boring because the writing is good and each talking scene is pivotal to the plot in some way.
TNG told good sci-fi stories. Even blatent character studies like "Data's Day" had a b-plot that was relevant to trekking amongst the stars. The Orville is literally an office drama set in space and it doesn't even have the excuse of being a comedy. It forces me to take it seriously and after shilling for it for 2 season and waiting 3 years for it to come back, I gotta be honest: it fricking blows.

Even if they did (and I'm not conceding that TNG was ever as stupid as the Orville) TNG was still essentially a family show suitable for kids. The Orville devoted an entire episode to gay porn. It really infuriates me how Seth fricked his own show on purpose when he had a ton of good faith built up. I will never accept The Orville as "the spiritual successor to TNG" after the 2nd season episode "Primal Urges". The showtunes dancing closeted homosexual can go frick himself after that.

>Because Orville has many good scifi stories
Had. Primarily in the first season. By the second season Seth started pushing the fast forward button on "character development" almost like he knew it was going to be canceled.
And really you can't blame them for not wanting to tell good stories. Why would you put your A-grade stories into a doomed Trek knock-off / parody? You wouldn't. You might focus on effects and cinematography and production. But you wouldn't waste story ideas. It feels like a demo tape for why he should get Star Trek. It doesn't feel like a good show in it's own right that I should be invested in. I've felt that way pretty much since early S2 and I've watched every episode.

>Had. Primarily in the first season
No.
I just finished season 2 and it had more TNG-like episodes than the first season.
They are both based way too heavily on 21st century interpersonal relationships.
Putting that aside, SNW hasn't had much time to come into its own yet so it's hard to say.
There was already a dozen aspects/characters that if you read the synopsis or casting you'd think it would be pozzed as frick but it wasn't. This doesn't look good but i'm waiting to see how they handle it.
Never even watched the orville but nutrek SNW posters are cancer and contaminate /trek/ with their homosexualry so orville wins by default. It's the same group of discors trannies that's only purpose in life is to troll real trek fans
Oh god, this is fricking grim. No wonder orshills are out in force trying to salvage their viewership. I thought the first two seasons were alright but this is making me want to avoid the third entirely.
Even the ones who stayed loyal to it are struggling to give a shit, meanwhile SNW is pulling ahead despite having the twin baggage of STD and Hispanic breathing down its neck.

>score is low, that means it's bad >score is high, that... uh... also means it's bad!
Orshills are pathetic.
I'm watching S3E1 of Orville on Hulu. This was something I'd turn the TV on for, but never paid full attention to, and it was decent enough. But now, I'm focusing more and noticing how cheap it looks, and how boring the cinematography is. And unfortunately Lamar still cannot act.
Honestly, that species is fricking dumb. >They are a single-gender species. They are all male.
How can they be "male" if they only have one gender? Male-female is a distinction that developed when having two sexes/genders. >Wait, they have females all along they just marginalize and exile them.
Okay, now the male-female thing makes sense again. But the idea that they became literal gayBlack folk from outerspace is even dumber.
I used to have a crush on Jessica Szohr. But she's all wrong for that role.
Keep in mind, I skip shitty Orville eps, like the gay black alien or the old black doctor or anything with blacks. But it was funny how they just replaced the actress without changing any of the scripts. Same species, characterization, look, etc. Only now she has a smoker's voice.
That was a cheap stunt and could have been handled better.

Yeah, it's probably for the best, anon. There is even an Orange Hitler on the show. And they ritually humiliate white males every episode. There have been two scenes of hardcore penetrative gay secks. You should probably stick to based Orville where the gay sex is kept to a tasteful minimum.
Don't forget about the episode where the black members of the crew tried to enforce Wakanda martial law over the ship and Pike had to talk them down by promising to take down his statue of Robert E. Lee. Thought it was a little on the nose but at least there were some good character moments.
so the troon episode on SNW doesn't seem so egregious from the preview. it looks to be playing a Jinai, whatever that androgynous race was on TNG outcasts. don't know if they get into any homosexual shit I'm done. I really don't care about a troon playing their fantasy race but my tolerance only goes so far
It was really bad, anon. You should definitely not watch the show. Guess who literally the civil security forces on Earth are in this shitty show? Fricking Antifa. I turned it off right then and there and put on The Orville. I don't care how much gay sex and wine drinking there are. Nothing is worse than that.
I judge how high someone's iq is by how they perceive "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" from TOS. That episode has a nearly identical message to Pike's speech from episode 1. Listen to the audio of the speech by itself and it's 1000% pure Star Trek.
The RT score basically proves how irrelevant Seth Trek has gotten. No one is reviewing it and most people who actually liked the Orville have since moved on.
I saw the Pilot and a few other episodes of the Orville. I couldn't stand the shitty comedy. I heard over a few years that the comedy shit dropped off and it basically transformed into just an ordinary sci-fi show. I watched the two New Horizons episodes and I liked it. What episode do you recommend I go back to and start watching from if I want to enjoy the sci-fi but avoid the "comedy"?
It should've been. Now it's just a shittier, off-brand TNG. Seth could've basically made Galaxy Quest: The Show but he blew all his best comedy bits on the first few seasons of Family Guy.
Orville being a TNG knock-off that mimics it's inspiration heavily is both it's biggest strength and it's biggest weakness.
It's comfy to watch but at the same time offers nothing new.
oh and seth is easily the worst thing about the show, if he'd hired a real actor for his part the show would be better for sure but his ego wouldn't let him do that.
i watched the first episode of the new season the other day and actually laughed when the ship was on dry dock being fixed and the call came in that the repairs/maintenance was done and they could leave
every main crew member was on the bridge just staring at the front window, waiting for the call
as if a skeleton crew wouldn't be on deck if the ship was sitting around in dock doing nothing
Imagine thinking a lame office dramady about gay buttsecks and wine sipping old hags on a spaceship is better than SNW's shockingly good first season so far.
SNW as DIC and PIC is just your common elite transhumanist propaganda, made by people who hate Trek. Orville is idiotic but its spirit is far more closer to Trek than any crap produced by that Kamala Harris' cheerleaders team from CBS.
Seriously, the two shows are pretty close. SNW just has a bigger budget and more competent cinematographers, but you guys are making it a turf war with some higher meaning like Coke vs Pepsi, Playstation vs Xbox, Marvel vs DC. It's the same stuff.
>pretty close
Only if you have no grasp on good story, good storytelling, good characterization and character development.
SNW has yet to put out a decent episode in comparison to Orville.
What was the best Orville ep to date? Everything until now felt like a retread of old trek tropes. You can trace everything back to a trek ep from TOS or the 90s. Same with SNW. People get infected, people visit a cool planet that harbors a dark secret etc. etc.
Characters are quippy present day people in both shows.
>What was the best Orville ep to date?
My favourites are S01E04, S01E10, S01E12, S02E03, S02E06, S02E07, S02E11 >Everything until now felt like a retread of old trek tropes
This is a good thing, not a bad thing. The best thing an actual successor to Trek could do is if it retread old Trek tropes (which tend to be universal messages and timeless moral lessons, and aren't even original to Trek itself as they were common tropes in speculative fiction decades before TOS). If VOY or ENT managed to emulate TNG as well as Orville did, they'd be looked back on even more fondly. >You can trace everything back to a trek ep from TOS or the 90s
You can trace them farther back than that, to old science fiction. Try actually reading for once. Read some Ray Bradbury. >Same with SNW. People get infected, people visit a cool planet that harbors a dark secret etc. etc.
SNW copies the plot outline then decides to fill in the blanks with pointless character drama. Note that drama in this sense is used in a derogatory way because truly good scripts like The Drumhead from TNG are purely dramatic, but what makes them good is that it's well written, has good dramatic pacing, and keeps the superficial interpersonal drama to a minimum. >Characters are quippy present day people in both shows.
Orville's superior writing actually makes it less quippy than SNW. The only thing it shares with 'quippiness' is the brevity of character dialogue, which in itself doesn't make a quip. What it does is cut through the fat and log and gets straight to the point with the dialogue. SNW does a similar thing as PIC in how you have these long meandering pieces of dialogue that don't really say anything, occasionally broken by a quip from Uhura, Ortega, Pike, Spock, or Number One.
This.
Throwing half baked and cliche traumas seems to be the only way to put something on screen with Secret Hideout. Since five fricking years. Fake Trek is not about universe at all, it's about how Biden, Gates, Zelensky and Hollywood elites are the good guys.
It is. It's Mario vs not-Mario jump and run, Call of Duty vs another cover shooter, it's Gran Tourismo vs Forza. Only that it at least makes sense when arguing for consoles, because people tend have mostly just one and want to affirm to themselves that they bought the right one. But you can still watch either show.
That explains their desperation with their Star Wars shows divebombing. Now they're trying to shill the last season of Seth's fake trek.
See
Yep. Liberal propaganda.
>look mom we got flashy action scenes that's all that matters
nu-trek is all style and 0 intellectual substance.
why don't they use racismguns that shoot racisms at people if it's so effective?
that webm is edited right, the subtitles aren't real?

Orshills LITERALLY on suicide watch.
This thread again? Don't you ever have any new ideas? What are you doing with your life?
Debating.
Star Trek is Aids Cancer in the butt!
Orville at least is watchable
I liked the first episode, but it was bait and switch homosexualry after that just as expected.
>Orshillbot 5000 is malfunctioning
Samegay.
I haven't seen SNW yet but I'm really enjoying New Horizons
Strange New Worlds is a better show made by worse people. That's the God's honest truth. The Orville means well, but it's just not good and that gave nuTrek the opportunity to at least make one decent, sincere show and dab all over The Boreville.
Was raped the Star Trek franchise for 6 seasons across 2 shows all part of NuTrek's plan?
why did they just let this guy get transformed? Why didn't they freeze him to slow the transformation and find a cure?
Why did they fly into the giant evil looking alien butthole in the first place with no protection when they were just warned by the Krill that there were evil ayys that would try to kill them?
>hur dur we're explorers
Frick off, show.
They scanned with their sensors, and it looked clean. They're potentially about to meet someone that is already there. The Krill are religious nuts. "Evil looking" is culturally relative.
>Evil looking" is culturally relative.
it looked like Sauron's anus
You're watching the wrong porn Anon.
What a cope. They were literally warned about supernatural aka not-conventionally-living things that would harm them. They encounter Evil McSpookyship and then bumble their way through all manner of danger while they put two-and-two together Scooby Doo style along the way
>hey, maybe these aren't conventional lifeforms and that's what the Krill meant
The Orville is not a good Star Trek alternative. It's fricking dumb.
There's no such thing as the supernatural. No demons, ghosts, leprechauns, or werewolves.
Watch the episode, numbnuts. They were supernatural from the perspective of the Krill then the crew was like Science! while literally doing everything wrong and stupidly the entire episode.
I would be surprised if there is any Star Trek series that doesn't include an episode about bringing a contagion back from a mission.
>The Orville is not a good Star Trek alternative
except it is. As there has been no good trek since Enterprise.
>fewer seasons than ENT
whomp whomp
I had a big issue when all the main characters left the Orville to explore that ship. Not even Kelly stayed behind, which as number two she should have. I did smile when they came back and I was able to guess who all was going back, with added protection. Characters making logical decisions in Sci fi always makes me happy
There were no life signs
I never watched STD or PIC so I never had a chance to get driven away in the first place. I am currently torrenting SNW though.
same and i made that webm 🙂
Can you make a longer one of the intro, including that part but going on for a bit longer?
I tried before I made that. It just ends up looking like pixelated shit because there's too much motion and the cg is too textured to handle compression well.
drop it to 720
looks like shit tbh, but here you go
yea frick that, good effort but your first one is much better that anon had a bad idea
It would be much easier if we could use vp9 webm instead of the old vp8 webm and the webm file size was increased to match the image file size at 4MB, but this will never happen.
I'll make another one that stops there.
this good?
Perfect, saved.
Thank you.
You are very welcome, anon.
I really just wanted it to go as far as this point.
Keeping it anyway.
It would be more work than it's worth but i'd cut up the intro into each sequence and then cut those individuals sequences down. There's a lot of padding in there.
Wait both series just had a fumigation vaccine episode?
>fumigation vaccine
you mean releasing the common cold? yes
SNW's was technically a pro-genetic engineering inoculation episode.
>The Boreville
Based
That show is ass
Strange New Worlds sucks. Simple as.
This
Samegayging orshills are as cancerous as their garbage show.
Disingenuous homosexual.
> one is pure scifi
>one is subversive satire
wow exactly the same! I'm American!
I would rather watch TOS on repeat forever than another episode of nutrek. I know trek has always been progressive in nature but the new stuff is get woke go broke level.
both suck
The first 5 episodes of SNW were pointless fluff. Episode 6 was very good.
The first 2 episodes of Orville season 3 were both very good.
You're just complaining to complain. If they would have "done something different" you would have knocked them for that as well.
>look mom we got flashy action scenes that's all that matters
nu-trek is all style and 0 intellectual substance.
The gorn episode was time wasted. Noise and motion with no point. No suspense and nothing worthwhile. The whole concept was derivative. They tried to use dialog to tell the gullible that it was "submarine warfare", because they lacked the skill to show anything of the type. The concept was derivate, and did a poor job of imitating the episodes they were stealing from.
>it.. it s-stole and... and was deri... derivate.. derivative!
If the Gorn episode was derivative, The Orville is straight up bargain bin plagiarism.
Orville is so creatively bankrupt, it plagiarized a story Voyager already did years ago that already based on another sci-fi story.
I don't understand why they have to use that cheap "Fox comedy lighting". It's not even a callback to TNG's lighting techniques, it's just so static and tacky. They should've fired whoever does their lighting years ago.
I haven't watched an episode, but every scene I've seen screams porn set-tier lighting.
I always thought Orville was a passion product of Seth, its kind of a shame he's lost interest apparently.
Stop being one of those people that thinks media needs to be desaturated and dark.
>only reads the first half of posts
Read the rest and then come back to me.
Orville is genuinely great.
I'm about to finish Season 2 and there were so many great episodes this season, some even comparable to TNG imo like Episode 7 "Deflectors", Episode 11 "Lasting Impressions" etc.
Whatever Strange New Worlds and the rest of nuTrek are, they're not Trek.
>some even comparable to TNG
Those were the ones straight up ripping off better TNG episodes.
>Whatever Strange New Worlds
Opinion discarded.
>Orville is genuinely great.
Is it the first show you ever watched?
Nope. Name a recent scifi show better.
SNW
Garbage
Orville got 2 great seasons. SNW will be canceled before it gets even one.
>SNW will be canceled before it gets even one
Orshill desperation is really a thing to behold.

Good or bad, the orville is more spirituslly star trek than SNW will ever be.
>Good or bad
Orville is bad, SNW is good.
>spirituslly

>Orville is bad, SNW is good.
This. Would seed nuChapel's womb.
Family Guy guy's Star Trek looks more Star Trek than actual nu Star Trek from what little I have seen of each.
>Pike pikes b***hes left and right
>Mercer is at the mercy of his cuck and simp habits
That's basically all you need to know. Anyone liking Orville is a cuck and a simp.
Don't forget homosexualry.
>Orshills btfo for 50 posts before the obvious was pointed out
I guess it goes to show the absolute state of that shitty show.
Orville won by default when STD and PIC were its only competition. Within a month of being out, SNW completely mogged and buried it.
That said, I'll give props to Seth for giving Kelly Hu work after the X2 did her dirty.
>Within a month of being out, SNW completely mogged and buried it.
Buried itself you mean.
No, that would be Orville. Got canceled by Fox, then picked up by Disney for one more season before getting canceled again.
It's so obvious he was disappointed that he couldn't do real Trek and eventually lost hope in trying to do a cheap facsimile of it.
>hero ship
this is a dumb concept and you should stop repeating it
>this is a dumb concep
You hate Star Trek.
Orville is the spiritual successor of old Trek simple as.
>cameos makes it a spiritual successor
By that metric, Picard is the best Trek show ever.
Almost looks like every line was shot separately.
>cheap and soulless
literally this whole series
Yeah it's pretty obvious Seth wanted to care for a while but eventually realized he wanted to do real Trek and knew his show would always just be a degraded knockoff.
Opposite for me. Orville is way more soulful than the overproduced ultramodern sleek design of nuTrek.
Orville is simple but cohesively stylized, and it looks like actual living spaces that people would try to create for interstellar living.
Orville has already cemented itself as a worthy successor of Trek. It's genuinely on par or better than VOY.
>It's cemented
>and by that I mean it's fricking canceled.
Again, you could have said that about any number of things will the show before it premiered.
>Again, you could have said that about any number of things will the show before it premiered
such as? because no. you are wrong
>"lesbian dyke" looking con officer

All these things have completely negated or strongly subverted
i dont recall seeing headlines for those or them being promoted in any way
>implying
Not to mention Peck makes a way better Spock than Quinto.
Quinto just couldn't turn off the gay
He didn't even try to deepen his voice, which was really obnoxious because he basically had the look down. Meanwhile Peck seems to have actually studied Nimoy's mannerisms, including the way he would periodically slow and speed up some of his line readings.
Quintet's vocal chords are probably damaged from miles and miles of BBC. Peck is a Nimoy-esque chad, however. I bet he fricks Jess Bush behind the scenes.
Probably helps explains why her moisture for him seems genuine.
>I bet he fricks Jess Bush behind the scenes.
How could you not want to seed that womb?
Lucky green blooded bastard gets all the top shelf trim.
I dunno what part of NY he's from but he brings just enough of a deep voice and israeliteyork accent that it actually evokes Leonard Nemoy at times.
The Orville was the best Trek show to come out since TNG.
I wish Seth did more with it and really tried his hardest to make a big breathing world.
Orville isn't even better than ENT.
Even the old casts would agree.
The more old cast members something has, the more it sucks.
That was a great episode.
It was, only I wish it went the direction of Famous Five/Nancy Drew sort of mystery instead of Cape Fear.
I wanted to see Alara doing more investigating about the mysterious light on the island.
That's a really small part of The Orville overall, even if you take an average from 5 episodes.
SNW has it CONSTANTLY.
>moving goalposts
Character moments in SNW actually mean something and the characters all have a role to play. No one cares about roastie sheboon.
Boreville is literally just retreading ground for the sake of what was a cute throw-away sub-plot last season but doing it for REALSIES SUPER CEREAL NO COMEDY this time and it's embarrassing.
The comedy was always bad but that should've forced them to write better comedy. Now the show is a tonal mess.
>Now the show is a tonal mess.
I feel like it's found it's footing. Star trek relationships without the Roddenberry directive
>Yea it means it's a garbage show for wine-aunts
That's the orville.
holy shit what a cope.
>herp derp lets walk into this evil space station of death unprotected that we were warned about and poke evil alien spores
>what could go wrong?
I was wondering why /trek/ was comfy tonight, all of the trannies are in here lying about SNW again. Thank you OP.
I was wondering why /trek/ was comfy tonight, all of the trannies are in here lying about Orville again. Thank you OP.
Cringe underage poster.
>I liked the first episode, but it was bait and switch homosexualry after that just as expected.
>bait and switch
I keep seeing that in regards to Strange New Worlds. QRD?
I've only seen the first episode, but there were far too many horrible actresses in prominent roles.
>But then they double downed on the dimly lit room wine-drinking, talking about feelings, self doubt, instead of you know, actually BOLDLY GOING
Yes, ha ha SNW and their dimly-lit wine drinking while blathering on about fee fees no one cares about sure does suck. The Orville is so much bet-
Oh.
Literally the last the episode of Orville
One out of how many? Because SNW can't go 20 minutes without a scene like that.
Praising SNW is painting lipstick on a pig.
>Strange New Worlds has had Pike and Spock solve their problems by fricking women, punching people, or waving their metaphorical dicks around
sounds like the antithesis to trek, besides the original series
>besides the original series
It's literally a prequel to it...
original trek was campy as frick and a product of its time
when most people think of the spirit of start trek, it is a diplomacy first philosophy
carpet cultists kek
SNW is a show for wine-aunts who love romance, so yes there's fricking, but otherwise the plot and dialogue is completely vapid.
it's funny how so much of the main orville characters seem very stoic now, especially seth's 2nd in command
she is almost spock levels of emotionless now which is weird
How much of The Orville did you watch exactly? Because Orville has many good scifi stories in a similar vein to TNG, and the comedy takes a backseat from season 2 onward.
I don't think he's watched anything for instance this weeks ep the A plot is a alien space station turning crew members into its own species, the b plot is the doc and the admiral, which both intersect at the end for a satisfying very real trek like conclusion
That entire episode was dumb crew moment after dumb crew moment. You clearly have a very low bar for quality television.
it was very tng then, they made those exact mistakes on numerous occasions
Even if they did (and I'm not conceding that TNG was ever as stupid as the Orville) TNG was still essentially a family show suitable for kids. The Orville devoted an entire episode to gay porn. It really infuriates me how Seth fricked his own show on purpose when he had a ton of good faith built up. I will never accept The Orville as "the spiritual successor to TNG" after the 2nd season episode "Primal Urges". The showtunes dancing closeted homosexual can go frick himself after that.
I skipped a lot of s2 the gay Black folk from outer space sucked, pun intended, episode not about gay Black folk from outer space were good
It felt more like a Voyager episode. The ship has an Alien infestation after a routine exploration mission and they solve it in the same ep and everything's back to normal except the people that died but everyone chills in the lounge in the end.
It was kinda cheap to have the guy who bites it be a new (expendable) character we've never seen before but also is the ex-lover of a regular character.
>It was kinda cheap to have the guy who bites it be a new (expendable) character we've never seen before but also is the ex-lover of a regular character.
noooooo its an admiral red shirt! Its just different OK!?
This, S2 was better.
>Ala TNG. And it's not boring because the writing is good and each talking scene is pivotal to the plot in some way.
Orville is lipstick on shit.
Aliens aren't real. I'm not moronic enough to watch a series that revolves around this idea.
One or two movies every decade, sure I'll bother.
They are both based way too heavily on 21st century interpersonal relationships.
Putting that aside, SNW hasn't had much time to come into its own yet so it's hard to say.
SNW will find a way to frick it up
There was already a dozen aspects/characters that if you read the synopsis or casting you'd think it would be pozzed as frick but it wasn't. This doesn't look good but i'm waiting to see how they handle it.
the fact they are making a deal about it is all I need to know after STD and SPIC
and that's it for me
Never even watched the orville but nutrek SNW posters are cancer and contaminate /trek/ with their homosexualry so orville wins by default. It's the same group of discors trannies that's only purpose in life is to troll real trek fans
>Never even watched the orville
Then frick off.
People who enjoy SNW have literally no taste, which is why its score is inflated.
>People who enjoy SNW have literally no taste, which is why its score is inflated.
What fresh cope is this?
It's from actually having watched both shows.
>posting a screenshot from TNG
If you actually watched and enjoyed TNG, you'd agree Orville was great and SNW is garbage.
I watched TNG in its entirety several times, Seth, that's how I know the Orville is a poor imitation of it. SNW is objectively better.
>SNW is objectively better.
Then you're the rare tard that didn't understand half the episodes of TNG or what exactly made them good.
>more emotional insults
Typical orshill wine aunt.
Actually I was insulting your intelligence and there was nothing emotional in my assessment of your cognitive ability. Try again, brainlet.
voy > tng
orville = voy
TNG >= SNW
>voy > tng
Said no one ever.
you literally show 5 people
>score is low, that means it's bad
>score is high, that... uh... also means it's bad!
Orshills are pathetic.
I don't get why Seth thought this season needed a new subtitle. Is it because he finally fixed those little gaps in the shoulder pads? I do like that.
or you can enjoy them both instead of acting like a gay
I'm watching S3E1 of Orville on Hulu. This was something I'd turn the TV on for, but never paid full attention to, and it was decent enough. But now, I'm focusing more and noticing how cheap it looks, and how boring the cinematography is. And unfortunately Lamar still cannot act.
>Lamar still cannot act.
Neither can those two kids. Every line they deliver is like nails on a chalkboard.
Fricking this.
Reminder that a troony discord is shilling SNW here daily and frequently ruins /trek/.
That's unfortunate but this is a safe zone for honest debate.
ok, I hate SNW, I hate the pozzed bridge crew, I hate the glossy nutrek look pioneered by israelite israelite
the captain is the only saving grace but he cant unwoke the rest of the show
There has literally been nothing woke about it after like six episodes anon. Did you even watch it?
Of course he hasn't, he's just repeating the same buzzwords from his israelitetube friend simulators that probably recommend the boreville.
But the idea that they became literal gayBlack folk from outerspace is even dumber.
crewman ortega, how does your latinx heritage inform your bridge duties?
>sir, i like to imagine the warp field is shaped like a taco, or my girlfriends vegana
The actress is straight.
>the actress
ok and?
and the character is completely laid-back and fine and nobody is talking about her sexuality but you.
disinfo trolling
damning
this kind of paid toxic positivity is the shit we have to put up with in /trek/ now the trannies have taken over
its not comfy anymore
>more emotional orshills
I understand you're upset that even your most loyal viewers are angry at your show but you gotta move on.
>I understand you're up-ACK!!!
>Seth fired everyone's waifu and then killed Norm McDonald
Typical.
Will Yaphit get a nice death?
Nope
No he's going to get poured into Bortis's butthole and suffocate
You will receive no closure, Boreshill. In the end, his was an empty death. A death without purpose.
?t=31
I used to have a crush on Jessica Szohr. But she's all wrong for that role.
Keep in mind, I skip shitty Orville eps, like the gay black alien or the old black doctor or anything with blacks. But it was funny how they just replaced the actress without changing any of the scripts. Same species, characterization, look, etc. Only now she has a smoker's voice.
That was a cheap stunt and could have been handled better.
Seth mcfarlane is a groomer 100%, he just uses career roles instead of age.
Prove it
Hi Seth
grooming for careers is acceptable. Grooming for underage kids is illegal and troon behavior.
>grooming for careers is acceptable.
but you agree that he is then, you just don't see anything wrong with it. Correct?
correct. The act of grooming, is itself not inherently wrong. You would groom your kids to be successful adults for example.
>You would groom your kids to be successful adults for example.
So you're arguing in favor of the abuse of child michael jackson? Where they admit they chemically castrated him in his youth too.
you are conflating individual cases now with the wider concept of what grooming is. Are you asking me if what happened to MJ, the abuse in specific, is acceptable? Of course not, were are you trying to go here?
You're trying to have an argument where you prove that "grooming" is an arbitrary term.
It's boring and now you're lashing out because i used it against you.
>nooo grooming can be a good thing
>nooo intended good grooming can be bad
>noo you can't do what i just tried to do to you!
Seth is a sex offender groomer with money and fame available at his finger tips.
who is lashing out? Grooming has a definition, it can be applied in many ways. I'm sorry you don't know what the term means. Maybe find a dictionary?
Seth needs to be investigated honestly, he does redflag shit for it too.
>LOL put myself into my own show while behind the scenes I'm fricking the co-stars
Halston needs to speak out already.
who cares? Adults can make their own choices in life. If its not forced on someone I could care less about your fragile views of reality.
>who cares
stick with that one then, stop spiraling on internet forums defending sex offenders.
moron
autistic spiraler
>spiraling
You project a lot, you know that? What offense has he made exactly?
you wanted to argue over a word, so i helped you out and double downed and called him a sex offender.
And I am asking in what way is he a sex offender?
I like how the leftist answer to gay grooming is not to argue that its not happening, but to try and deflect by pretending that "other kinds of grooming" are "just as bad" in order to muddy the waters.
>but to try and deflect by pretending that "other kinds of grooming" are "just as bad" in order to muddy the waters.
lol you nailed this moron before he responded. I wasn't sure where he was going with his moronation but you nailed it kek
The Orville is based
on a fever dream of family guy man who is close to waking up
Strange New Worlds is woke shit
Reminder only trannies are saying this because there's only been hetero relationships shown in SNW. Meanwhile Orville...
>muh Jan 6th clip!
Pike literally says "it started as a fight for freedoms" over that footage. You homosexuals are seeing dicks in the clouds. You're just seeing what you want to see so you can continue your impotent rage.
>Pike literally says "it started as a fight for freedoms" over that footage
He even dabs on ayy hillary.
>Not Hilarayyy
You had one shot and you blue it.
>$20 of aluminium on a lathe
>$5 of 3d printed plastic
>$200 wages to prepare and paint
what am i missing here
theirs actually work. true story
define work? i hope you don't mean the trigger clicks or that they light up?
that's a few $ of springs, a little bit more 3d printing, a battery and some circuitry
thats not $8000 worth
Built-in functionality. Basically a laser pointer but they intensify the beam in post.
>laser pointer
That would be well worth the cost.
a laser pointer isn't $8000
Maybe yours isn't. You cheap frick.
>t. cheap laser consoomer who never pointed at anything worthwhile.
>not posting the full scene
Only troonys like this shit
>the collective IQ of orshills
>there was a hero named George Floyd
I don't think he deserved to die, bit their really taking a lot out of the word "hero" here. I'm glad I'm watching Orville
>bit their
You made the right choice.
Lee. Thought it was a little on the nose but at least there were some good character moments.
god damn.....that's a nice throw
holy fricking tatas
She's got massive zimbabwe milkers.
God I hope they do something about that hair
Every black woman on tv needs a shaved head. Thems the rules
>I don't think he deserved to die
Then you are lost, Anakin.
so the troon episode on SNW doesn't seem so egregious from the preview. it looks to be playing a Jinai, whatever that androgynous race was on TNG outcasts. don't know if they get into any homosexual shit I'm done. I really don't care about a troon playing their fantasy race but my tolerance only goes so far
>This video contains content from CBS CID, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds
Is there an IG or tweet that has the preview?
how about this? I haven't really looked anywhere besides YT
so tholian's ok fine
always someone that falls for it
>a hero named George Floyd
That's all I really needed to know not to watch this
It was really bad, anon. You should definitely not watch the show. Guess who literally the civil security forces on Earth are in this shitty show? Fricking Antifa. I turned it off right then and there and put on The Orville. I don't care how much gay sex and wine drinking there are. Nothing is worse than that.
You two are like two gays arguing about who is gayer. I dont have to between you two drag queens
why don't they use racismguns that shoot racisms at people if it's so effective?
that webm is edited right, the subtitles aren't real?
lmao people are gonna see this and tell their friends and family members that it's real
They already are. It's a good way to see who actually watched SNW and who are just getting their opinions from their grifter israelitetube simulators.
I judge how high someone's iq is by how they perceive "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" from TOS. That episode has a nearly identical message to Pike's speech from episode 1. Listen to the audio of the speech by itself and it's 1000% pure Star Trek.
why are idiots ITT pretending you can't like both?
>Boreshills resorting to slander to boost their shitty gay show
gay
The RT score basically proves how irrelevant Seth Trek has gotten. No one is reviewing it and most people who actually liked the Orville have since moved on.
I saw the Pilot and a few other episodes of the Orville. I couldn't stand the shitty comedy. I heard over a few years that the comedy shit dropped off and it basically transformed into just an ordinary sci-fi show. I watched the two New Horizons episodes and I liked it. What episode do you recommend I go back to and start watching from if I want to enjoy the sci-fi but avoid the "comedy"?
early Season 2. "Primal Urges". Best episode of the first two seasons.
New Horizons eps 1. Fox insisted on it being a comedy.
SNW mogs poorville.
I like both, nice quads
>those digits
Welp. Guess that settles it.
And so it is done.
People who enjoy SNW need to experience the sexual event.
The gaysecks featured on The Orville? Or the interracial / interspecies secks featured on The Orville?
SNW is for shills
>t. orshill
this makes no sense who the frick thinks its a good idea to be waving around $8000 props in action scenes shit gets broken during that shit, easily
Imagine thinking a lame office dramady about gay buttsecks and wine sipping old hags on a spaceship is better than SNW's shockingly good first season so far.
There's no debate at all. At least Orville is the Orville. Kurtzman Trek is not Trek but some kind of tribute to Biden Instagrammers.
Yep. Liberal propaganda.
My favourites are S01E04, S01E10, S01E12, S02E03, S02E06, S02E07, S02E11
>Everything until now felt like a retread of old trek tropes
But Ivan, you couldn't even Kyiv. How do you explain your failure?
>SNW
>more competent cinematographers
Sorry Alex, but dark corridors and shaky cams for nothing don't build a better cinematography.
this its ridiculous I like both you zoomy homosexuals trying to turn this into a console war is pathetic
It is. It's Mario vs not-Mario jump and run, Call of Duty vs another cover shooter, it's Gran Tourismo vs Forza. Only that it at least makes sense when arguing for consoles, because people tend have mostly just one and want to affirm to themselves that they bought the right one. But you can still watch either show.
yea I watch both, the week now has a decent line up things to watch
reminder snorville is owned by disney
Hopefully they'll refit Galaxy's Edge into an Orville themed park because Orville is way more compelling than nuStar Wars too.
That explains their desperation with their Star Wars shows divebombing. Now they're trying to shill the last season of Seth's fake trek.
See
OK israelite
They are both decent. SNW is the first time nu-trek is slightly better than The Orville.
>nu-trek is slightly better than The Orville.
Lol no.
The best nuTrek is Lower Decks and even that is worse than Orville by a good margin.
SNW is literally Klaus Schwab agenda for the Twitter generation.
>Klaus Schwab
is he the schizos' new Sorros?
OH NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
can you take your stupid console wars and frick off? no-one literally no-one cares about rt one way or the other
>that extra strength copium
Orshills LITERALLY on suicide watch.
you're super confused zoomy, I like both
what do you want to prove with this image?
that corporations shill?
"critics" panned original season of orville because it refused to be woke.
>I have the money
>I control the "critics" voice
>Please my land of cucks, make a bunch of papers about our new non binary character
neither
Orville. All nu-Trek is trash. Star Trek died when ENT was cancelled, everything since then has been utter shit.
