The Hills Have Eyes
This is the sickest movie I've ever seen. And at the same time, it's probably the best remake of a horror movie. It's how you watch without really expecting anything..... but man, sometimes it hits. And you then think about it for a long time after watching it. I'd forgotten what it's like to have movies stay in your head for a long time.

Using rape purely for a shock value is lazy and lame
Irreversible did it great
It's much more ballsy than generic slashershit, you can't watch horror movies and complain about shock value. That being said, cringey that they went through with a brutal rape scene but couldn't kill off the baby.
>but couldn't kill off the baby.
I'm sure they could have. Hell, tons of movies have killed babies and children too. That's not the point. It's like. the story progresses this way. The character needs something. I'm glad the baby survived. At least for the duration of the movie. If they killed an baby, it would just be a dumb shock. Like, okay, you shocked me. But what's next? You don't have a point in the movie. Is that what it was all about? But they develop the story and the character instead of just "shocking".
I couldn't have agreed more. I would say the rape happening adds to the suspense if they'll kill the baby and I think it serves the story better that they didn't.
I'm trying to explain this rape scene and why it works so well for the movie. There were other shocking moments (the burning of the father and the murder of the mother), but the rape.... it's like BOOM. And you need to move on. And you keep watching and it keeps you going, this DAMAGE. I expected it to be a dumb movie. But it works so well it's unbelievable.
You sound asian
And? I'm not Asian, if that matters, but English is not my first language, yes.
But I have to admit it's done beautifully. Even though I watched the uncut version and it's pretty obvious there was a rape, you don't expect it until the last, you deny it. God, that hits you. And it just hits... and it keeps hitting because there's other things going on, the murders in that van. It's like they don't even let you think about it and you're like, "Oh my God, he just raped her right there in that van."
is this supposed to be written in the tone of a reddit post?
>Using rape purely for a shock value is lazy and lame
That's why Art doesn't rape anyone. It doesn't need to shock!
I liked the OG Chainsaw massacre. Is this as good as it? Because the original was shit.
This movie accomplished the brutality a lot of 2000s edgelord horror movies go for, without becoming corny. I enjoyed it a lot more than the original. Also the girl mutant was cute, Ruby was her name I think.
This movie is better than the original, which is vastly overrated.
Maybe.
But I'm still trying to find somewhere The Hills Have Eyes 2 (1984)
You ain't seen shit. Watch Night Train Murders.
Thanks for the recommendation, but I don't watch European shit. They should find money for food first before making movies.
Nowhere in Europe are as many homeless as just in SF inner city.
People would rather be homeless in SF than move to Europe.
Thank god
It's not like I want to watch shit..... And I didn't watch The Hills... for shock value, for Christ's sake. I was just surprised it wasn't just a dumb remake.
Only Americans believe le rape is worse that someone geting their innwards shredded
>filler
>rape scene
>noise
>rape scene
>stuff
>rape scene
>roll credits
i wonder how they'll structure the sequel.
Isn't there one rape?
And your writing is weird. After the "assault" (rape and child kidnapping) the movie turns into a revenge movie
