>everyone goes into it thinking it'll be some ultra kickass action flick like nothing they've seen before >turns out it's just a "how to" guide warning of the dangers of letting middle-management and H.R. become too powerful
The ol' Netflix switcheroo. Many such cases.
I think the most egregious of these for me was that it was so fricking visually boring. I'd have a much better time with a sparse plot and sparse character development if the action wasn't pitch fricking black and the settings werent just parking lots and digital, blu-ray-filter color grading that served to make the settings feel cheap.
>What went so wrong?
Nothing, it was kino.
Him fricking up constantly was so fricking funny and it's nice to not see some dude that just does everything so perfectly, makes it a lot funnier and relatable.
Nothing. The hate train for this movie is surprising.
Mank was Fincher's dud, not this.
brainlets got filtered

It wasn't a bad movie. It just wasn't a Fincher masterpiece that I was expecting.
Every complaint I've seen just shows they didn't get it. The whole point of the movie is that he's slipping.
Morrissey ruined it for me.
released on netflix when it should have been theatrical
Fincher's next project is another Netflix film tragically
Couldn't suspend my belief for the MC's character. Should have been better written. The actor did what he could with the role.
Soundtrack sucked.
Film makers didn't stick to the plan. They improvised.
I didnt believe that he'd be able to beat that bigger dude that had the drop on him.
