I remember enjoying this show as a kid when I’d watch it with my mom when she rented them(through the mail) from Netflix. I have tried watching it several times as an adult now and it’s literally just two married people bickering back and forth over nothing for 22 minutes while occasionally Robert walks in and glares at Raymond and the old dude says something funny. Idk what I ever liked about this show.
i don't get why this bit is paraded around as a gotcha when everything is demonstrably worse now than it was 20 years ago and it's all engineered to be worse on purpose
no its a dramatic scene setting up the comedic premise of the entire series

Another anon posted the clip, not me, I brought up Not Dead Yet because Raymond’s older brother joins the cast in season 2 and Jane the Virgin is hilarious watch the first episode I did not expect to like it at all and have show other friends it. Really good first episode, check it out if you want I’ve show friends irl and they liked it too.
Watching this show as a kid is what made me decide to never get married. Debora was such a vile b***h, and literally the only thing that Ray got out of the relationship was sex every once. It just doesn't make sense to go into an arrangement like that.
He was, she turned into a domineering harpy after they got married so he started looking for reasons to spend as little time around her as popular. The show makes it very clear he has not changed at all from when they started dating to when the show takes place, so Deb knew what she was getting into when she agreed to marry him.
Was Robert a hollywood psyop to condition people to living with their parents till their late 30s? I turn 30 in a few months and im living at home in my childhood bedroom. tbf Im much richer than my peers from the years of no rent.
No, 90s sitcoms were a psyop to make people believe fathers have no value and that women do all the work.
she was fine and they genuinely loved each other, plus she was right in more episodes than she was wrong
but at the same time it was her fault for being in that situation in the first place since Ray warned her, though he did soft sell his relationship with his parents
also even though she wasn't really that hot Amy seems like she'd give good head and be fun to give a big messy facial to

Isn't it past your bedtime, grampa? Watch your "DVD collection" (???) tomorrow. We all want you to get a good night's sleep and keep up your energy.

HUMMINA
There’s a heartbreaking quality to watch Peter Boyle degrade in real time in this show. Like a time-lapse of something decomposing.

Based on that clip anon, that show is the definition of cringe. How the frick was any of that supposed to be funny?
I should've known the jokes would go right over your head, midwit. ESL much?
Yea, no, they're just bad jokes. Watch something that's actually funny.
One of the kids that played Raymond's son committed suicide
One the twins killed himself a few years ago

Someone's never heard of Big Bang Theory lol

agreed, ray was such an upstanding and caring husband, while also being a great father

You're supposed to pair bond with someone who isn't vile

Dialogo has aged really well for an old show. It has those sitcom things that make it unfunny but it's kind of good.
Test
Reminds me of that episode where Raymond forgot Debra's birthday and had to cut his own wiener off.
Hated this show as a kid. Ray seems perpetually desperate for validation. As a person not the character.
Currently I got it running all day long as background noise, good stuff.
