They're not copying anything. If anything, they're about to show WB how to make people care about a team of anti-heroes instead of just slingshotting a bunch of nobodies into a movie and calling them the Anti-Avengers.
There's like one villain in that team, Taskmaster was just brainwashed.
Ghost was trying to steal Pym technology going so far to collaborate with Goliath. I agree, everybody else seems anti-heroic.
I see zero chance of them topping The Suicide Squad. Gunn was smart enough to know that if you're going to do an ensemble cast movie you need to make your band of characters stand out from each other, he did it with GotG after all. Half of Thunderbolts' characters are fricking Captain America variants.
>You have to stop the laser shooting the sky. You'll all probably die doing it. Here's a CGI army to beat up and a bad guy we pulled from the most obscure comic.

MCU Thunderbolts isn't going for the "villains forced to work for the government" angle, they're specifically just a bunch of supersoldiers and assorted mercs working either for money or for patriotism until it bites them in the ass.
>Val sends Yelena, Walker, Ghost and Taskmaster on a mission, then betrays and leaves them to die. >Her plan was to frame them for some illegal shit she was up to, probably related to Sentry. >They survive and decide to get revenge on her, Yelena calls Red Guardian for help. >Bucky only comes in during the third act for some last minute assistance, his role is actually extremely minor, Captain Marvel in Endgame tier. >The Thunderbolts essentially become the edgy Avengers, keeping the wold safe by handling the dirty business the Avengers don't mess around with.
Man, why didn't they just give us Zemo's Thunderbolts. At least that's a relatively fresh idea... I mean it's sort of The Boys lite, but I would have at least been somewhat intrigued.
Wait, the original Thunderbolts ended up being led by Hawkeye, why aren't they using him for this...?
Oh.
Wait.
Yeah. I forgot. Sorry. Forget I said anything.
It would be hilarious if Marvel is copying the fricking DCEU at this point. How the mighty have fallen.

You're not getting your promotion that easily, Cpt. Obvious.

WB: "We can use Suicide Squad to be our version of Guardians of the Galaxy."
Disney: "We can use Thunderbolts to be our version of Suicide Squad."
Alright, I'll bite.
What are the leaks?

and this is bad because? sounds like a standard story.
This could be their Plan B if F4 and X-Men go sideways. At least they don't have to seriously build up a Young Avengers team.
And it also looks like they're going to build to the Midnight Sons if those fail too.
The Avengers were never exactly goody two shoes to begin with in the MCU, so having an "edgy Avengers" doesn't even make sense.

IT'S STILL THERE, DAMMIT.
Yes, anon. Sure. Miracles happen, right?
This shitty team has 3 Captain America’s?
and 2 hooded figures
