Rebecca Sugar can realistically work on some Studio TRIGGER anime since they're all Steven Universe fanboys with plenty of merchandise of it and Takafumi Hori even worked on the cartoon
What? Why? Everything about SU is just half-assed and inferior compared to just your basic anime with effort. What people love about SU is what it could've been and S1 was so hyped because of that. It could've gone anywhere, but it was all a let down.
Also, it's just because of waifus like Pearl and the occasionally decent episode with plot. Most of it is about fricking townies or one-shots, like almost half the series.
Trigger are the biggest westaboos out there after Kojima. It's the reason why they and 4°C were the only studios willing to work on a Cyberpunk anime after CDPR asked everyone.
>nationality of the studio
Source material, studio, and intended audience.
just to make it more clear to people who like to take things out of context: the studio that makes the creative decisions, not the slave labor that is hired for the mass produced drawings.
We're at the point where Western studios are being exposed for having shit animation not because of Western animators but because studios so rarely choose to focus on animation.
I remember when it was first announced that he was gonna animate for Wan Piss and everyone assumed he would do Toon Force Luffy. Is a random cut of Big Meme talking the only thing he was brought on for?
The memes about it being low quality trash finally penetrated Toei's thick skull. Wano has been a pretty consistent show of effort. Might be out of patriotism; we'll have to see if the quality continues after this arc.
Actually it’s a pretty shady trick, what they do is about 4 seconds of decent animations by some guest animators so that people will post gifs on social networks, while the rest of the episode is the usual standard tv anime with choppy animations
Looks absolutely terrible. Inconsistent expressiveness is one of the worst things you can do.
Not surprised since OP has a terrible rep for QUALITY shit but to give in to westerners is fricking pathetic even by chinese-budget-tier standards.
Expansion.
Japanese studios have figured out that while the American consumers are less dedicated than the Japanese ones, the numbers game more than makes up for it
Expansion.
Japanese studios have figured out that while the American consumers are less dedicated than the Japanese ones, the numbers game more than makes up for it
I mean, a bunch of japanese directors did stints on a few american shows like gumball and adventure time. Luffy is a rubber hose looney toon now, so why not.
Ian needs to bring back nockforce and finish rpg world.
Japan has always outsourced. This is nothing new. Entire episodes were animated by chinks or south east asians. It is kinda weird, however, that the BIG SCENES on all their notable shonen shows have been animated by nonJapanese as of late. Like, feels like virtually all of the jerked off One Piece Wano scenes were animated by some German, a French guy and some Chinese. Either so expand or because they are more likely to do it FOR FREE to make a name for themselves. Hard to tell.
Black Clover last episodes are almost entirely animated by Latin animators...
It's cheaper to hire turd worlders than pay decent wages to Japs.
Also there's more anime jobs demand than animators supply.
Luffy's new powerup is toonforce. I'm not sure it's debuting on episode 1066, as I don't watch the anime, but they're probably plotting some big wacky animation extravaganza for it.
There's a shortage of talented animators in Japan compared to the market's demand. The large increase in CG anime is almost entirely because every 2D studio is backlogged for years. Covid enabled work-from-home production pipelines that also allowed studios to easily recruit non-local talent.
I've been skipping the anime in general since reading the manga is faster but I do check out clips and they've really stepped their game up and last night's episode went pretty hard.
To be clear the distinction about last night's episode was that it was the first time a foreigner *directed* an episode. The fact that said foreigner pulled in a bunch of animator's from his friend's list is just icing on top.
that's bad news for western animation. That means that to be an animator you have to go to Japan, when before America was the destination to be an artist.
I fricking love One Piece and straight up I am going to tell you right now guys if you think you’re a cartoon and comics fan and you think you ‘hate’ the one piece manga then you are absolutely left behind and clueless. No person who believes in drawing, sequential storytelling, and cartooning can fairly say they don’t like One Piece without being ignorant, regressive, or vindictive. If you think there aren’t enough quality comics, or ‘think’ you have a problem with manga and anime, do yourself a favor, get over yourself, and read the colored One Piece manga
The only critiques I get in some of the art advice circles are minor nitpicking and preferences, which are my own critiques as well, but many people I know in those circles love Oda's colorspread illustrations
But back to Ian JQ, despite him being Rebecca's Husband, OK KO creator, and production help on SU, people forget how good he can be when he's intentional. He was animation director on the 2008 episodes of Venture Bros. He was also an inbetweener for some shots either in Sonic Mania or the Sonic Origins cutscenes.
Let's be nuanced for a moment, a simple artstyle doesn't necessarily mean the artist can't do anything else besides that style. Not necessarily
wow its twitter
back to Cinemaphile
What’s next, Rebecca Sugar on One Piece now?
>What’s next, Rebecca Sugar

Go back to >>>Cinemaphile dumbass
I don't know man SU is kind of a slop
Just like Trigger’s shit so they’re a match made in heaven
Trigger are the biggest westaboos out there after Kojima. It's the reason why they and 4°C were the only studios willing to work on a Cyberpunk anime after CDPR asked everyone.
Lucky duck, I'll look out for that bit.
Does it help his resume or something?
I guess he made some networking otherwise he basically made slave labor for "exposure"
no it doesn't, it's the nationality of the studio that determines if something is anime or not
if you read wikipedia articles it's pretty consistent with what it calls anime and what it doesn't
>nationality of the studio
Source material, studio, and intended audience.
>Source material, studio, and intended audience.
Solo Leveling's anime got 2/3 parts of this lol.
just to make it more clear to people who like to take things out of context: the studio that makes the creative decisions, not the slave labor that is hired for the mass produced drawings.
>it's the nationality of the studio that determines if something is anime or not
Then modern anime isn't anime either since most parts are animated in South Korea and China.
false
So is that the drawgay that sometimes draw Creepy Susie or?
>Have you ever experience the almighty three shoe beating style, ed boy?
Eustass Kid bring us together. Punks rollout!
Useless Mid
fr bruh FR Eustass Kid is finna mid no cap SHEESH

This has always been the case. Anyone who bought into that East vs. West nonsense was deluding themselves.
This him?
nope, this is the animator of that scene

I remember when it was first announced that he was gonna animate for Wan Piss and everyone assumed he would do Toon Force Luffy. Is a random cut of Big Meme talking the only thing he was brought on for?
I'm surprised that one piece has such a good animation now
The memes about it being low quality trash finally penetrated Toei's thick skull. Wano has been a pretty consistent show of effort. Might be out of patriotism; we'll have to see if the quality continues after this arc.
With the money it makes it better.
Actually it’s a pretty shady trick, what they do is about 4 seconds of decent animations by some guest animators so that people will post gifs on social networks, while the rest of the episode is the usual standard tv anime with choppy animations
>standard tv anime
that's an upgrade for one piece
>It's MISS Saltbaker now!
Looks absolutely terrible. Inconsistent expressiveness is one of the worst things you can do.
Not surprised since OP has a terrible rep for QUALITY shit but to give in to westerners is fricking pathetic even by chinese-budget-tier standards.
>"OBEY WARIO!"
I would like to see the bacon ice skate series with OC's the different manga franchises made it to a Marvel superhero team.
I guess the COPE is over, after all!
The episode had pretty cool animation but it kinda looked like twitter animation. Still better than some of those shitty jap animators
Why the frick would someone that hates anime watch 1k episodes of OP?
I read the manga, watched the TV show, movies, OVA's, played the games, and read the superficial material in order to properly hate One Piece..
Well good for him
>Run Piss
I think the sanctity of Cinemaphile is safe from bean mouths
>run
You only hate characters running in One Piece because they remind you of your dad running away from you.
Can somebody here tell me why Grorious Nippon is hiring gaijin cartoonists for their moving art pieces?
Because gaijins are happy to do this work for little money.
Expansion.
Japanese studios have figured out that while the American consumers are less dedicated than the Japanese ones, the numbers game more than makes up for it
They need someone to animate supertoon Luffy
I mean, a bunch of japanese directors did stints on a few american shows like gumball and adventure time. Luffy is a rubber hose looney toon now, so why not.
Ian needs to bring back nockforce and finish rpg world.
OK KO was fun when they made the joke about the thing that can and wont move in animation.
Kinda pointless thanks to O.K. K.O. "resolving" RPG World
the same reason americans hired koreans to animate cartoons

but when it was animated by non-japanese it was the worst animation that a series had
That's nothing new, I still remember when that awful early episodes of Dragon Ball Super was outsourced by SeaBlack folk.
>why Grorious Nippon is hiring gaijin cartoonists

The line was always arbitrary. Just read and watch what you enjoy regardless of origin.
I've been skipping the anime in general since reading the manga is faster but I do check out clips and they've really stepped their game up and last night's episode went pretty hard.
A shame his talents are wasted on one of the worst One Piece arcs ever
What do japanese people think of us in their anime now?
Do I look like a japanese person to you? I hate these “what do X think”. Fricking ask them on twitter or somewhere using a translator.
I can't lol that's why I'm asking if someone here already did that and can relay that information :^)
I am just waiting for Dragon Ball. Don't really care for moeshit.
RISE JIKA THE DAMNED ONE!
Does the show dip in quality for those two quick cuts?
Current One Piece has become unwatchable with all the moronic Hispanic auras, lighting, blurs and cubes
You get used to it
I don't want to get used to it. I want crisp fights where every punch is felt.
I too would like peak fights like in alabasta it's just not gonna happen.
Just read the manga.
Faster, better shots and the latest arc way past Wano is the wet dream of everyone that likes infodumps
Why are people mad about this, again?
Literally no one itt is mad. Why are you like this?
This might be his cut. The extra he says he animated looks very much like his style
https://twitter.com/Im_NotLunch/status/1672798950984761346
That looks completely out of place
>looks completely out of place
Yea, uhm, that's SAKOOGA for you. Almost it's definitely, really.
