You can't really discuss any of this movie's problems because kevin feige delivered a completely butchered product, it's not an ordinary bad superhero movie, all their issues come from the reshoots, constant reediting and cuts, failed test screens and cold feet from the executives. I'm pretty sure what they mean is that it's hard to give a proper criticism of any one flaw because it's hard to separate the mess. It's like trying to pick out individual strands of spunk on the porn starlet on in the last few minutes of a massive gangbang video. That scene of Kamala approaching Kate Bishop about the Young Avengers for example. I really liked Hawkeye and I enjoying Hailee in anything she's in, even seconds of MSheU shlock, but it was obvious from their lines and facial expressions not quite matching up with what the other was saying that they weren't even in the same room and probably didn't even meet when that scene was filmed.
All that said, it was entertaining enough, but I'd have been annoyed if I had paid for it or been looking forwards to it.

Basically the strong female character has negative female tropes (moody, selfish, avoidant, psycho b***h-fits, irresponsible) that caused huge harm and it's used just as a learning experience so she can figure out she should gain better personality factors such as being nicer to people and talk to them to try and co-operatively figure out ways to help other than punching things.

The Marvels is one of those movies where the more I think about it, the more it pisses me off. What a lazy pile of shit that story is.
Carol left earth before the invasion of Iraq and so she's surprised that killing the big bad guy leads to a bunch of equally bad people having a nasty civil war and doing mostly the same stuff but also having a victim mentality. It's also not really reasonable to blame Carol for not preventing the kree from fricking up their own home planet.
Fine in a vacuum but the movie equates her personal failings and the means to correct it with her actions during the movie and the flashback explaining what caused the plot in the first place.
When she betters herself and returns to the scenes of her 'crimes' (The mom's house and Hala) she makes amends by filling the house with life and returning life to sun.
It's pretty shitty writing to equate them, one is not like the other in scale or consequence. The family stuff was fine but trying to do the same theme with all the death and destruction made the character really shitty.
A push-up bra and a tighter costume don't make up for the fact that Captain Marvel films seem to have a bizarre idea of what a cool female superhero is.

Still, the movie flopped. Why? Don't know, it's a mystery. But I bet Cinemaphile was behind all of this.
I got suckered into watching this from a tweet saying it was better than expected and it had been memed into a box office disaster by misanthropes. As someone who has also been suckered into digitally editing a student film for the past 8 weeks, my eyes have been ruined into seeing lighting composite errors, color correction errors and artifact cleanup errors. holy shit if this movie wasn't thrown together in a way to make post production "easy". lack of shadows, lack of bounce lighting, lack of atmosphere, like they were deliberately choosing shots to be generic, the same way you do a commercial. kind of impressed with the lack of any artistic decisions beyond, "give our underpaid VFX the easiest canvas to work with". Secondly, beyond that, this is a very bad movie. why should anyone be proud of it?
It really is as if Ed Wood had low budget digital tools and a week to make a movie.

Its a crap movie but its not the worst MCU one. Both Captain Marvel and Black Panther 2 are much worse, maybe Ant-Man 3 too.

No I didn't. It wasn't my only chance to see the movie and I planned to see it once it was on Disney+. Marketing failed to put butts in seats.
I decided to finally watch it since I had nothing else to do for a few hours, and eh, it's not a good movie but it's also not the shitshow I was expecting either. It's just entertaining with enough jangling keys to not be boring, Bree isn't being the insufferable stoic b***h she was in CM1 and Endgame, Kamala isn't annoying me half as much as I expected, and Monica might as well not exist so far which is fine by me. Fury is even acting a little more like himself, albeit still geriatric, but that's understandable.
I do question where Kamala picked up her knockoff Black Widow moves though. From her room probably from looping old footage and breaking furniture.
