Disney's hubris is it's downfall. The people who rose up in the company didn't found it, and consider success to be the status quo, rather than very artificial and has to be maintained. This is definitely the feeling and I think even audiences pick up that this is just a filler that's a waste of everyone's god damn time.
I do not know a single person who is a F4 fan. They are such an utterly boring group. How many movies could they even carry? Do you expect solo movies for then and then a teamup? They are irrelevants.
X-men might have a better pull, but with the whole comic being a huge raysiss allegory, I absolutely cannot imagine the level of virtue signaling that current marvel would load it with.
If they were smart they would have immediately led off with the Fantastic Four and made Reed the next Tony so there's a main hero running the show. At least that way there's more of a plan instead of what we have now where everything feels like filler and the writers are just throwing shit at the wall.
