Harley Quinn and Miles Morales are two characters that really just need another character to beat the shit out of them while listing their flaws.
I know it sounds weird, but quinn was at hwr best when she was a ditzy girl head over heels for joker. When they tried to give her a personality they ruined her. Then when they made her a "bad ass b***h" they destroyed what was left.
They just never should have made her a girlboss. "Joker's psychiatrist becomes obsessed with him and becomes his henchgirl" is already a compelling premise on its own. Even having her eventually break away from him is totally fine and a natural progression of the character. The problem is that nobody can fricking make a good Joker-less Harley, so they make her a generic "badass" and/or attach her to Ivy which should by all means be an equally toxic relationship but it's ok because they're hecking wholesome lesbians and it's not with a filthy male.
I agree with this. Ivy should perhaps be even more toxic than Joker on a lot of ways, because she hates humans period. Joker likes to cause mayhem and pull "pranks" but Ivy is actively on a mission to exterminate human life. She should be even worse for Harley in a lot of ways, but the pull of seeing 2 of DC's hottest women all over each other is too great to for the average writer or reader to overcome. I'll grant that her way forward as a character could very well be getting worse instead of getting better, wince that in itself can be a compelling story. Watching someone fall deeper and deeper down the pit of self destruction creates some amazing stories. But her journey isn't treated like that, and the progress she makes is misplaced.
Unfortunately, Harley became way too popular for her own good, which means that she's not allowed to progress in any meaningful ways while also being diluted and flanderized in order to appeal to as many people as possible.
The only time Harley was good as a character was in the cartoon.

If a villain says something, I always assume the author is saying to us that what was said is just villain gibberish that shouldn't be taken seriously.
"Therapy" is actually biased against men.
The entire field is founded on a largely female only patient sample, where simply talking about how you feel, as opposed to any real action, would help the women to feel better about themselves.
Men tend to be more action oriented, so if they have a problem, they want to do something about it, instead of just talking about it, or how it makes them feel.
Studies have shown that "men's therapy" work better in the form of more practical social bonding experiences, where they can come together to work on smaller, simple to work with issues, helping them gain the tools to more easily work out their own issues, or as casual group therapy where the focus is less on the individual, and the interactions, and hence the sharing of issues, will be less intimate.
Essentially, women are mostly fine just venting their frustrations, but for men you have to at the very least give them the illusion of some practical problem solving.
If you want to "fix" Batman, sitting down and talking with him is not going to do anything, because it's not going to solve the actual issue that makes him do what he does.
Instead you'd have to either give him a better practical way to solve the issue, or prove to him that what he does is not actually helping fix the problem in the first place.
That makes perfect sense given every other field that is built exclusively towards X gender/race has flaws and how women don't seem to want to do any action when given options from a therapist but instead talk about how they continue to suck.
