Never saw it and probably never will. Thought it looked mega moronic with a moronic title, and seeing it suddenly pushed everywhere and winning awards made me believe I was correct in not bothering.
i watched it over the holidays because i will never pay for amazon prime but my sister has it. anyway it was fine. absolutely not most awarded movie all time worthy, but the backlash has become ridiculous.
>once I saw how both critically praised and adored by audiences it was, I knew I was right to not watch it.
Weird moron cope. I’m as contrarian as they come and I solemnly believe you have to have a screw loose to not enjoy this movie in some capacity.
NTA but I rented this movie on Prime a full year before all the hype and buzz blew up about it. I had been keeping an eye on it ever since it was first announced way before the theatrical release.
Michelle Yeoh in an intrrdimensional kung fu movie? Count me in.....I DID NOT EVEN FINISH IT.
The movie was shit and dragged on forever until I just turned it off.
>a full year before all the hype and buzz blew up about it
What the frick are you talking about? This movie was on a hype train way before that. You don’t watch enough movies or have any friends, I think. I watched it the week it came out and it was a solid 9/10. Everyone I came with loved it and the whole theater loved it.
The simple fact is it’s a movie that both audiences and critics loved. Overrated doesn’t mean “everyone but me loved it”.
I didn’t care for La La Land or Parasite, thought they both sucked, but I’d never call them overrated.
>hey let’s make a really israeli movie about kung fu grandmas and dildos
Imagine the millions set on fire to produce this garbage while people all over the world rot and starve.
It was Hollywood throwing Asians a bone to keep them quiet about being massively underrepresented in Hollyjew. The beaners are also due for such a moment.
I just watched this and I spent the entire movie repeating the words "this is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes..." under my breath.
I fricking hated it. I was writhing around on the floor in front of the chair for the last 30 minutes it was so painful. >Ayy quirky A24 movie lmao
If you liked it you're in the wrong place
I refuse to watch any of this chink shit. Korea and Japan have been running propaganda campaigns aimed at developing soft power through shilling their media in western markets. Ignore it if you're not a moron
Old millenial here, this is basically asian matrix movie. Hot female lead romance? Nope, your rebellious lesbian daughter. Fake dream world vs reality? LOL, no, quantum physics Michiokaku multiverse. Most of it's humor is cringe, China loves this stupid raunch. Movies are produced for the asian audience now because there is a larger audience = more profits. Expect more of this schizophrenic stuff that is meant for a global audience.
It's got it's moments, but feels played out. Bagels of nothingness? It's basically a giant ass-hole that serves as some metaphor for their daughter's queer identity.
agreed. after i learned it won more awards than return of the king i knew Hollywood was dead
>t. filtered anon
>y troony homosexual chink
>somewhat of an original idea
>most overrated movie of our generation
>there were countless capeshits that existed
Frick off, kid.
>3 hour episode of Rick and Morty
Yeah no it sucked
>over two hours of DUDE SO RANDOM AND WACKY reddit humor
>worshipped by critics and zoomers
>7 oscars including best picture
No, it really is. I'd rather watch Morbius, Blue Beetle and The Marvels at 0.25x speed than ever have to sit through this again.
THE BAGEL OF RANDUMB
>Matrix rebranded for middle aged housewives is original

But........you're missing out on Raccacoonie.......

I liked it but agree with OP. Way overrated, it was capeslop pretending to be art house.

Wasn't Coda a Hispanic movie? Never saw it.

Broomshakalaka was better in every way.
It reminds me of inception the way ever one was hyping it up like it was a new classic for a year then never mentioned it again
Quit seething moronic chudcuck. It’s better than every capeshit out there by virtue of being a new story:
>a new story
You have no right to complain about capeshit if you defend this garbage.
But that'd be Terrifier
Is it overrated? Everyone here hates it and the few people I know that have seen it said it was terrible.
I refuse to watch any of this chink shit. Korea and Japan have been running propaganda campaigns aimed at developing soft power through shilling their media in western markets. Ignore it if you're not a moron
>written by americans
>produced by americans
>starring asian-americans
what did the schizo mean by this?
I often get accused of watching 'weird for the sake of weird' movies, which usually annoys me, but this movie is the definition of the term.
Oppenheimer exists, anon.
Oppenheimer was well made, directed and acted.
This movie was a mess in comparison.

you kinda sound like you need to suck some wiener
only if it's washed.
For once OP is not wrong. I guess even a clock is broken twice a day.
So painfully unfunny
I liked it.
I walked out about half way through. I don't care if I got filtered or whatever.
How is it overrated? Everyone forgot about it.
