Why are comic books like this?

He looks like Ben 10K. The bracers even have Omnitrix dials on them.
sometimes it is good
Like infinity gauntlet
Giving the usual naming conventions im surprised they didnt call him the black emerald or something.
They always do this shit but then management gets cold feet and delay the ever shit out of it or they drop it completely. Remember when the Wildcats were suppose to return in 2021 but didn't after teasing another variation of them in Batman.
weren't they supposed to come back in 2019 too with ellis and that artist that got canceled
Let me tell you about my boy, Sodam Yat.
>Emerald Knights
That sounds awfully similar to the title of the six issue miniseries Emerald Knights.
How bad is it when a franchise has to plagiarize itself for a suitable name?
It also plagaraized the recent Injustice League comic, John’s name there is Emerald Knight.
GLs getting god modes is a dime a dozen
whats even the point if it just means they blast harder
focus on how they can do anything with their rings aspect more
and all there do is just job to the next big bad, remember sodam yat prophesied hero of the blackest night and the daxamite host of Ion, embodiment of will, just gets his ass kicked by Superman Prime before being tossed into a Sun lol
To be fair about was all of silver age superman power with none of his weaknesses
I would like a comic book about Tomar-re dealign with the Kryptonians and fooling or defeating them repeatedly
I've been really enjoying Grant Morison's GL Season series so far as power creeping in GL has been one of the reasons I've avoided most of the last decade of GL comics.
>New powers
>New villains
>New Powers
Just tell some adventure stories, fight some baddies, solve mysteries, and let the characters learn to surpass their flaws
Emerald Kascht?
Powerful people have powerful motivations
Introducing new powers is almost invariably a shitty idea that should be used sparingly. Improve strength or control, let them use them in new or interesting ways, give them a throwaway gadget, don't give new powers.
Now seems like a good time to remind people that the canonical reason Superman isn't a sociopath that sees people as ants is they introduced as one of his subpowers the ability to see souls.
It wasn't Ma and Pa Kent. It was fricking magic space vision. That's how you keep an all powerful alien god sane.
No one uses super soul vision anymore and barely anyone did in the first place.
>No one uses super soul vision anymore and barely anyone did in the first place.
Yes, I refer back to my point about introducing new powers being a shitty idea.
You're the only one who cares about old forgotten and unused Superman powers.
Yes. Characters need limits and flaws. Conflict literally drives a story.
That's why every story introduces a new conflict, they're not all just "oh Superman punch these bank robbers".
It's not the first time this has happened. John became a God at the end of Mosaic, but DC used time blinking on and off to erase his power upgrade so he could join the Darkstars.
There's a huge fricking closet filled with dead members of the Batfamily. DC does dramatic things and then forgets about them completely all the time. This isn't new.
>The most powerful Green Lantern ever
Cute.
So Thorne is only getting a one shot to fix his moronic direction and show how we came back to pick related? Cruz a GL again, a bunch of dead lanterns revived, etc. Or did I miss how they came back? Too bad John is stuck as a pseudo-New God for now.
Only 48 pages to wrap up all the bullshit he created, he’s definitely going to fail at it but it’s nice to see that Thornes run did so badly they aren’t giving him the full sequel series that he was talking about anymore
What's this about Thorne getting a one shot? I want to laugh at the solicit.
I found the one shot. It doesn't even have Green Lantern in the name. That's sad.
Does Thorne try to weasel out of it being a pity clean up one shot? I could only find an audio interview and for gods sakes I don't want to actually hear the man.
What's it called? I didn't even know it existed.
John Stewart Emerald Knighr
Ah, I thought it already came out, we'll see how it goes.
>forgotten
They're in the middle of Dark Crisis, dumbass. He's probably going to be the first one they rescue.
At least Alan is a near constant, as he was even the JSAer writers used the most on Earth 2 after they turned it into a Superman/Batman book.
90s vibe
because power level wankery is boring and uninteresting
