The sound in the prequels is so fricking sexy
There's way more visual creativity in each prequel movie than episodes 7-9 combined.
good ideas with bad execution == bad ideas with competent execution
kino

Hello beautiful
imagine being that one guy who got shot down before even leaving the atmosphere
Unpopular opinion: The prequels are just very sincere and people get embarrassed by the thought of some RLM-watching butthole interrogating them on their connection to it, so it scares them out of having a connection to it.
IMO they're heavily misunderstood films. And the widespread mixed reception has permeated culture to where they are just simply accepted as bad films. People tend to fall in line with the general consensus without critical thinking or individual thought.
The sincerity of George Lucas is good but I love a few things about the prequels
1. Worldbuilding
2. Heavy focus on the Jedi and lightsaber duels
3. It's packed with meta-narratives and allusions to other things
the prequels are a poorly told and uninteresting political drama, just incompetence at every level
completely moronic take
The entire movie is good and it's actually the single greatest piece of Star Wars media ever created.
I didn't get into star wars until the sequels were announced. I finally watched this after hearing how its dogshit for DECADES. Imagines my surprise and amusement when it was pretty good. Still flawed, but pretty good. Attack of the clones though, now that was doo doo.
ESB > ANH > RotS > PM > RotJ > POWER GAP > AotC > POWER GAP > disney trash
>PM > RotJ
Agreed, and I used to be in denial about this. Ewoks being able to defeat Imperial troops is just simply unbelievable and immersion breaking.
It's an allegory for Vietnam
Yeah but the Vietnamese had guns
I like it but it’s bad
Attack of the clones is better
the coruscant part is a bit of a drag, no action happens there
The prequels are shit and always will be. Redlettermedia was right about everything.
What makes the prequels good is the creative worldbuilding and metanarratives that are absent from the Red Letter Media's episode 7-9.
They listened to reddit letter media's idea to remake episodes 4-6 with JJ Abrams directing.
Rlm had some valid critique but what the frick is this, i havent even seen the last one yet i gave up after jedi, this is the first time im seeing this scene.

getting serious "I'M ACTING" vibes from this scene
Being able to pull a spaceship 1 mile away from you down back to the planet is such an insane power creep, Yoda and Sheev were struggling to throw something 1/1000'th the size at shorter distances.
the biggest feat of the force in the 6 lucas films was yoda lifting the x-wing, and he's visibly strained after doing so
people can argue about some things in the prequels, but there was nothing on that scale or treated with as much gravitas as the x-wing
meanwhile the sequels to shit like lifting a million boulders and floating with a ring of bullshit like it's nothing
With all of that lore at their disposal, how they came up with the sequel garbage is beyond me. The best part being with CGI nowadays you know they couldve made sci fantasy kino.
>from Tatooine onwards
Bullshit. The escape from Naboo is kino as frick.
Episode 1 is the only prequel movie that still feels like classic Star Wars to me, even with the silly stuff. AOTC and ROTS are more like distant cousins. None of them are as good as the original movies, but I never expected that in the first place.
Phantom Menace was the last one shot on film
That might be a big part of it. Qui-Gon as well, they whacked him too soon for my taste.
