I learned that Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s acting appeal is 100% that she’s physically attractive. When reduced to just a voice she’s pretty difficult to endure.
I enjoyed both equally. I want more Kim arcs, weirdly in the animation Wallace became worst boy, but we gained G and Lucas best bro adventures. Ramona fixing her own problems without Scott punching out her issues was a nice change. Their relationship became more solid. Skipping Lisa once again is high homosexualry tho.

Not even gay but Wallace is my favorite character. The show kind of presented him as a douche that didn't like Scott at all. Kind of bothered because it felt like flanderization, because Wallace shit-talking isn't because he hates Scott, it's just that their friendship has ascended to where it's a display of friendship to call your friend a piece of shit
Cera being so badly miscast is what's kept me from watching it again. I still think a post- High School Musical Zach Efron could have nailed the "well- meaning dumbass" characterization that's more prominent in the books. I also thought Ramona was miscast and the director was wrong for the project.
I feel like Cera works because your example of Zac Efron is way worse of a choice than Cera. Zac Efron was the hot guy in movies and Scott's characterization is a loser 20 year old something. Why would he play a loser?
He's a loser, but he has to have the charisma and looks to pull b***hes. Cera leans too hard into the nerd fantasy without giving us any reason he'd have women orbiting him.
You wouldn't think it but nerds like Cera who are cute in certain ways will have tons of women over them. Not supermodels or actresses but still women.
Scott wasn't a looser he just hung around the looser group. He was a fairly athletic charasmic 20 something who just hung around the outsider click because it was easy.

You guys are both missing the fact that they specifically wanted a Canadian actor for Scott.
Obviously I don't think Cera was the best fit but also no one in the cast is a great fit and most of the lines ripped straight from the book are delivered in the exact opposite way that you'd read them. I'm shitting on Kieran here but he actually did a good job embodying comic Wallace for the show.
the movie is irreedemable shlock that misses the point of the comic and fails to make another
it just exists as as a succession of flashing lights and rock noises for the mentally moronic and easiily amused
Honestly at least the show isn't masquerading as a faithful adaptation of the comic.
I don't like Takes Off much but hey, it serves as a companion piece to the original rather than a shitty replacement.
nah, both are about the same and clearly derivative of the source material. They're just fine or good compared to the comic, anime needed more episodes to really get into the whole downward spiral of Old Scott and maybe give us a proper Knifes fight since the movie didn't do that but even then I don't know how you stretch out the mystery even further,
Yeah pretty much
I wish I had enjoyed the show at least half as much as I enjoyed the movie.
hot take: Brie and Brandon are the only good cast in the movie
I miss pre mcu Brie
The comic and the show are too long and too gay
I've watched movie 5 or 6 times and I never got tired of watching it. I doubt I will watch the show 2nd time. Movie is just built different
>too long
>6 volumes that can be read under 4 hours
>too long
>8 episodes that can be watched in 4 hours top, 3,5 if you skip opening and endings
You're using this word incorrectly, moron
The movie can be marathoned in an hour if you watch it at 1.5x speed
The comic and the show are too long and too gay
>too gay
I thought everyone loved Wallace?
Really? I thought it wasn't long enough or gay enough
>comic too long
Sounds like someone is a slow reader
The movie was reddit, the show was Cinemaphile
Explain
You can't just call everything you don't like reddit
Says you redditor
tourist
Michael Cera is so fricking creepy though
I learned that Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s acting appeal is 100% that she’s physically attractive. When reduced to just a voice she’s pretty difficult to endure.
The one huge thing that made this movie so good was the fast pacing, which the show lacked. I still like both for different reasons.
Both suck and are for homosexuals

Writing aside, Kieran Culkin was a poor choice for Wallace.
Not gay enough?
I think he's perfect honestly.

The show only takes place across like a week or two. But would have like a mention of Lisa at least
Game
> movie >>>>>>>> show
I just don't Like Cera's Scott. He isn't enough of a fricker
It’s generally accepted that the kid who played Young Neil should have played Scott instead right?
It still ruined a whole generation of women
Scott should've been andrew garfield

Do women really think michael cera is cute
There are attractive guys who are still broke bums with no career prospects

Yeah
You really miss Wright's staging and editing during the dialogue and fight scenes. He's truly one of the best modern-day directors.
I still have We Are Sex Bob-Omb and Threshold on my workout playlist
They both had their merits. The video game was the best.
no shit
it has vegan police in it
how is the movie more faithful than the animated adaptation, that is pretty rare because its usually the other way around
the show is only loosely based on it due to O'Mally being two decades older.
It's not a long comic and since one of the big draws of the anime is the movie cast coming back it needed some other novelty.

Apples to oranges
What's that even mean?
You haven't even read the comic homosexual
