Directors can be nasty and often are difficult people to work. Not many would take the risk, and even if they did (because they are directors, with inflated egos and delusional), I doubt the producers would allow something like that in case she really kills herself during production.

Ellen was notoriously hard to work with even before trooning. But the stuff with her parents is so raw, presented without reference to liberal/woke talking points or language that permeates the rest of the book, that I can't help but think that she's genuinely pouring her heart open there and that it's her big open wound.

Directors can be nasty and often are difficult people to work. Not many would take the risk, and even if they did (because they are directors, with inflated egos and delusional), I doubt the producers would allow something like that in case she really kills herself during production.

Ellen was notoriously hard to work with even before trooning. This is just what I took away from reading her book. I think Ellen was looking for some encompassing narrative that let her finally understand her life and be okay with herself, and she's been jumping from narrative to narrative to try and find an "explanation" that convinces her she's not unloveable. So she jumped from just being a tomboy to "finding herself" as a lesbian and then finally as a troon.
There's a lot of stuff in there that I suspect are just bullshit (the infamous "gonna gay-bash you!!!" and I also think she exaggerates/embellishes her sexual encounters for the sake of validating her lesbianism after the fact) or very selectively remembered to force-fit into the grand narrative she chose for herself. But the stuff with her parents is so raw, presented without reference to liberal/woke talking points or language that permeates the rest of the book, that I can't help but think that she's genuinely pouring her heart open there and that it's her big open wound.

I've noticed this trend in a lot of troons and also currently other people who pretend to have some form of PTSD/DID/etc.
