yup, being able to forgoe trailers and hype helps a ton too. typically just surf established directors I know but hard to do that in horror today
that would mean Balkin's book was enough from the start and the entire mystery and search for the other books was pointless, the LCF stuff was pointless, Balkan burning alive with the new page arrangement doesn't make sense, the last of the nine pages being found in the Spanish twins' shop was pointless.
