It’s Nolan wanting to do a Bond movie so bad he turns Batman into Bond. Ras was created during Bondmania to be a Bond type villain. So no shocker Nolan uses him. Exotic locations. Fox is basically Q. Bruce acts like Bond. Tumbler scene is very much like the tank scene in Goldeneye. It never felt like a Batman movie to me

The part where his girlfriend gets drugged and he zooms down the highway in the car was tense as frick. I watched Begins and the sequels back to back a couple of years ago and that was the hypest part of the whole trilogy. There's a similar scene in TDK and I just kept thinking how much better it was in Begins.

Or when they first meet and scarecrow gasses the shit out of batman, quips about having a seat and a drink as he pours alcohol on him, then fricking lights him on fire?

Maggie had the same issues, Rachel is just a horrible character.
Holmes would have been better than Maggie just for the fact she's a more believable love interest. The character dies anyway

Nah, when Scarecrow is riding the streets of Gotham on horseback spraying gas around and Batman comes in from the sky.
That was bretty cool with the horse breathing fire and all, but why the anticlimactic taser to the face?
