The power dynamics is very different, for instance, Lola respects Cricket and pretty much cares about what she has to say.

Watched the episode to see what you were talking about. Yeah I really like their dynamic: Cricket tones down Lola a little and makes Lola bring out her better nature. Once the deception is over Cricket is someone Lola can let her guard down around and at the same time understand her interest. With Cricket she has an innocent side and can't see the worst sides or certain situations like Lola can, who can act fast. Lola's down to earth family is going to help ground Cricket.
Sure I ship it. Doesn't hurt that Cricket is voiced by Bubblebee from DC Super Hero Girls.
I agree, of all the sister friends Cricket is a highlight. Lola's ego is as much genuine vanity as it is insecurity and someone she can be truly vulnerable around is a great thing for Lola. I wish we had similar dynamics in the other sister friends. I think it would have been nice to see Lynn's friends be people she can be non-competitive with, or Lori's friends be people she can be youthful rebels with. Seeing these extended social groups as a place to develop the characters outside their shtick would have been really nice.
A great point. I can only think of Stella from Lincoln's friend group that served as someone who thought and acted a little different in the friend group when she was introduced but who quickly blended into the group's mindset. So someone who can add new dimensions to a group or duo would be great.
I hope Cricket gets used more in future episodes as the pageant and social presentation side is really important to Lola.

I was raised Jehovah Witness, which caused me to spend my adult life as a hardcore atheist, like most JW kids. If someone like me can find comfort and value in the Bible, anyone can. Psalms has some lovely verses, and no one will ever know if you whisper them to yourself in your head when you're really feeling lost and hopeless.
