how did the secret mulatto love child grow up that fast?? this was another boring episode but
>THIS IS WHAT WE DO TO ABORTIONISTS ON KRILL. WE JUST HAPPEN TO HAVE SOME RIGHT HERE. WE TAKE THEIR DNA AND SIMULATE THEIR ABORTED CHILD. AND THEN WE SHOW IT TO THEM.
>Mercer: JESUS CHRIST THAT'S BARBARIC!
lmfao
>WE TAKE THEIR DNA AND SIMULATE THEIR ABORTED CHILD. AND THEN WE SHOW IT TO THEM.
Holy based.
Horrifying. Seth would never let his child grow up in that kind of barbaric world.
Yes. Obviously if you're a good person then when you take action it's to defend good so you don't get labeled with bad labels. Why is this hard for you to understand?
>YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. I'M SENDING DEATH THREATS TO THIS F-F-F-FRICKING DIRTY NIG- BLACK MAN AND HIS FAMILY BECAUSE I'M HECKIN PROGRESSIVE AND BLUEPILLED
Yes. You are correct that certain things are morally good and certain things are bad. Why are Republicans so amoral?
>GOOD
-grooming children into being psychotic gay terminally online morons
-self harm
>BAD
-stable families
-morals
"the ends justify the means" is the definition of an amoral argument moron
very based.
>WE TAKE THEIR DNA AND SIMULATE THEIR ABORTED CHILD. AND THEN WE SHOW IT TO THEM.
>Holy based.
Based
>WHAT KIND OF SOCIETY WOULD MAKE ME REFLECT ON MY OWN ACTIONS AHHHHHHHHHH IN GOING INSANE
I thought the moderate Supreme Chancellor was going to be the one attempting a coup since he was challenging the results of the election
It didn't really make sense for Telaya to do it
Plus it would have added a moral conundrum of whether it's right to stage an insurrection for the "progressive" side to win
well, everyone who said JANUARY 6 WAS AN INSURRECTION just so happens to be calling for an insurrection because their ability to murder babies was partially restricted
>captch: W0KSM
>You Trump voters disgust me.
>Just wanted you to know.
>Signed, Seth MacFarlane
Imagine being an angry white lizard populist voter.
>episode goes out of its way to show white traditionalists as bad backwards lizards
>end up being the most based nationalist species in trek
I'm fine with this frick the union and frick Black folk
>Kenobi has basically no score, just generic tv music
>The Orville has the most obnoxious, over-the-top movie action orchestral score possible
Why can't they just make shit normal anymore?
I can't believe that NuTrek is now more reserved than the Orville. Fricking clown world.
SNW is including the poz, but just be more subtle about it which makes it easier to avoid or compartmentalize if you're aware of it, but more insidious if you're not I suppose. The Orville is just straight up telling you that you should hate Trump voters, applaud the black guy that fricks all the white chicks, root for these gay black aliens, embrace communism, and go full atheist and just being out and proud about all of it.
>but just be more subtle about it
Gene would approve. Trek has always been woke, TOS was pretty blatant about it, TNG, DS9, and VOY were subtle about it.
>Gene would approve. Trek has always been woke
I think what really fricked up nuTrek in carrying that flame was that Gene was relentlessly optimistic and nuTrek out of the gate was dark af. SNW is a much more positive and upbeat show, especially as it concerns the psychology of the characters. That's a huge difference from earlier nuTrek.
DS9 isn't really optimistic, it is pretty cynical. It is a miracle that it was executed as well as it did because in isolation, the delivery could have been butchered.
idk how 'In the Pale Memelight' ever got made
Yeah. DS9 is dark. I was mostly referring to TOS and TNG. Gene Roddenberry had nothing to do with DS9 other than his widow shilling for it and pretending he would have approved.
does tv hate it? I'm watching it now and got hooked. Yeah it's woke, I lol'd when they introduced uhura but it's pretty good.
The general consensus is that it's absolutely the best nuTrek so far and a tolerable show, but there is ample reason to be cautious. The past two episodes have been a bit weak. Otherwise, it's a perfectly entertaining show even if it doesn't exactly feel like old Trek. It's not trying to piss anyone off or rub anything in anyone's face (even when they hire a troony actor) and that's the most important thing.
wait a minute. who is the troony actor? is it the attractive nurse? I don't know anything about it and just randomly picked it up two days ago
episode 7 writes off Uhura and the blue alien so they can have a histrionic homosexual with a giant israelite nose outsmart everyone and retcon a minor movie character as gay. /trek/ schizo spams identical posts swearing he passes and will samegay himself going OMG I COULDN'T TELL. he doesn't pass
>/trek/ schizo spams identical posts
Sir, this is a Wendy's
a bit of a spoiler for me because I'm still on e05 but good thing I don't know wtf you're talking about. I'll be mindful of the gay shit
e06 flagrantly plagiarizes a fairly well known short story and is pretty dumb too considering Starfleet's reaction. I haven't seen this week's episode yet
would the vulcans agree with their rationale?
the Vulcans probably would have forced them all onto the splinter colony
I liked the most recent episode, pretty classic dumb, but fun star trek
YWNBAW
the episode/story only works because they asspull some kind of barrier between majalis' prosperous scientific advancement and the rest of the universe. once they find another planet in the same level of medical advancement and whatever governmental system that they have in place that prevents diseases and poverty without some stupid ritualistic sacrifice their whole reasoning falls apart.
the father is trying to save his son, but won't just come out and say I REQUEST ASYLUM because "reasons"
he still had a plan that would've succeeded if not for spock. he have successfully faked his son's death prior to getting detained.
ywnbaw
you will never be a human, dog
Seth absolutely loves musical scores and jingles
Man, the amount of n-word thrown at Clarence Thomas in twitter is astounding. Who would have thought leftists were this racist, eh?
How is this woke?
>Populist voters are evil irrational goons
>Communism is good
>Abortion is great
>Blanda up
Did I miss anything?
Populists were always bad, Caesar was supported by populists. And if Caesar hadn't broken the republic, the republic would have survived for 2000 years, and terraformed Sahara and colonized the moon.
Somehow I don't think that's where Seth was coming from with this episode, anon.
>And if Caesar hadn't broken the republic
brother
the republic was already dead by the time caesar arrived on the scene; his existence only occurred because of the end of the republic, not the other way around
Populists are only bad when it's someone I dislike, to be fair.
>terraformed Sahara and colonized the moon.
yeah because the romans had such ground breaking inventions as "roads" during their 800 year run. they SURELY would've split the atom and not at all stay a static slaver empire
stop getting trolled
at this piont I don't care if a show is woke or not as long as it's good. if you like a show because it's none-woke your'e just as stupid as the leftist.
So are these guys just smooth Jem'Hadar? I haven't watched too much of Orville.
the orville goes out of its way to humanize the trump figure, though. In general the show does a good job of not being too preachy. It mentions that fake news was being used by both sides and the anti-abortion law was already in place and not even really shown as a negative.
>the orville goes out of its way to humanize the trump figure, though.
She was on the verge of executing the frick out of everyone, including Ed, in front of a crowd before she was stumped
How is it surprising? Seth and the lead actress both met at a fundraiser for Obama back in '08. He's been political his entire life and hasn't been afraid to show it in his work. All power to him, for being real to himself I don't agree with anything political he aligns himself with but saying that I don't watch his work either so if you complain about his work being political without knowing the man. That's on you.
seth's big oof
Cry harder, trumpgay
your trolling is weak old man
you idiots are such surface level viewers and I'm sick of it
>ackshully if you read the subtext the implications are quite based
>the one guy with a 99 iq that thinks the Orville is deep
it's not deep, people are reading too much into it. It's really not trying to say anything. Cinemaphile is conflating depiction with persecution. If the trump figure was supposed to be alien hitler, why would she let Ed go? Why would she be sentimental for him and their daughter? Why would abortion already be illegal under the moderate government? The show isn't trying to say anything about anything, it's just using a familiar framework to try to tell a good story.
Abortion wasn't illegal though they just forced you to interact with a hologram of the child you would've had to show actions have consequences and apparently Ed thinks this is completely barbaric which means you're meant to think it's barbaric
why is it barbaric to drive home the reality of your sin? is it a problem that the men that carried out the holocaust faced their victims?
It's okay though because it's just a clump of cells and remains a clump of cells until the baby is entirely out of the mother's body and is breathing independently
>why would she let Ed go?
It was explained. Sentimental weakness. Then when he came back to reason with her about their child she decided to kill him. She wasn't standing on principle.
>Why would abortion already be illegal under the moderate government?
They weren't moderate. They were center-rightists in the midst of talks which are implied to lead to détente out of shared mutual interest and eventual glasnost. Then these ultra rightist Trumpers seize power and we get to see how ugly and illiberal populism is.
Donald Trump lives rent free in the heads of the writers of Discovery, SNW, and The Orville.
>Deeply religious
>Militaristic
>Anti-abortion
>Anti-race mixing
>Democratic
>Capitalist
>All white
>Portrayed as the most evil faction in the show
Dropped
They went out of their way to make little points in dialogue just to hit all those issues. It was weirdly over-done. Almost like they were trying to tell a certain segment of their audience to frick off in no uncertain terms. Frick Brannon Braga and frick whoever Andre Bormanis is.
They had a gay couple giving birth to a baby in s01e03, how could you not think this show was woke?
It's a joke mocking Orville fans who think the show isn't woke.
I know that but if it took you until Season 3...
>I know that but if it took you until Season 3...
Why do you assume that?
Orshills cope that it may have gayshit and boring office drama and liberal signaling but it's not politically attacking them. They think it's fundamentally /their show/ and an answer to nuTrek. After this episode it's clearly, not. SNW had one shot of Jan 6th over dialogue that called them freedom fighters. The Orville just shit down their throats and called them evil.
it's not even hidden. the fact that the black doctor is the voice of wisdom on every fricking problem, be it technical, scientific, philosophical, or moral is pretty fricking obvious. every important emotional beat in this season the camera has focused on this stupid c**t's face and hers alone. the captain is hardly even in the show anymore.
how could you possibly think it's non-woke when 75% of every episode is every character in the galaxy bending over backwards for the ugly ni**er doctor and her two whining ni*let kids?
>The couple is a modest married man and wife
>The hologram is a perfect child with no flaws
>lets bring our most important officers and the president to sign a treaty on a planet that is currently holding elections over whether or not they will kill us
Orville writing is getting worse with each episode.
