The people who dislike this show are kind of right. You can't have it both ways...

You can't spend your whole life being an edgy reactionary, only to then make what is essentially a neopuritan manifesto.
You can't have a setting which is comically cynical, and then go on to critique nihilist ideology.
You can't have your entire brand be about appealing to Internet shut-ins, and then directly insult them.

As funny as Smiling Friends is, I totally disagree with its messaging.

It's a "centrist" show made by two people who describe themselves as being somewhat left. Just more hippie nonsense, even if it plays both sides it still kowtows to the status quo and has very little actual insight.

It's not trying to say anything, it's just trying to be funny, I think putting political labels on it is against what the show goes for and might be why you don't like it

Imagine taking pride in being pseudointellectual. Go watch Hanna-Barbera then if you want cartoons which don't say anything.

Is that why the most conservative thing he's ever done online is do an impression of Donald Trump? Being against porn doesn't exactly make you right-wing, especially not when most conservatives are literal coomers.

Not him but the funniest scenes in my opinion were

          1. Most of the enchanted forest episode namely the "you kiss your dad on the mouth", the treasure falling on the dragon and killing it in the music number, and the plot twist involving Mip.

          2. Both of the "Get out of me head!" scenes from the frowning friends episode.

          3. Charlie's interactions with the annoying demon in the Christmas episode.

          4. The realistic argument in the Brazil special.

Explain to me why the LatinAmerican dub censored all the swearing on this show yet they added even more swearing than the original in the dubs for Harley Quinn and Mike Tyson's mysteries who air on the same channel?

You can tell this show found its audience because 90% of the arguments against its critics are literally just "you're mad because you're the target demographic it's criticizing". like if someone shoots you in the dick and you scream your head off at them, and they respond by huffing and saying you're just mad because they actually hit you

Same, although it left a lingering sensation of having been in philosophical conversation with a severely mentally unsound and incredibly obtuse individual for the past hour, and a desire to reclaim that hour somehow.
