I agree he was a good cast for Luffy, but overall I still think he’s the weakest member of the cast. That may just be inherent in any project where they cast an ESL in an english speaking role. His enthusiasm and energy largely make-up for it though. God I just hope they don’t cast another Brazilian as Ace.
He's not even an ESL, he's just a shit actor. He spoke perfect english in The Imperfects, this crap is an intentional directorial choice.
