Not the N*tflix one, that's for sure, that shit sucked balls.
Good in daredevil and in the 1st episode of his show. Then it gets bogged down with drama and Frank stops frankin' people.
>and Frank stops frankin' people.
This was the silliest part
It's a show about the fricking Punisher. His whole thing is that he kills people.
Netflix show was basically Punisher War Zone but much, much slower and less fun.
Jon Bernthal
Dolph LOOKED the most accurate.
Jane had the best movie.
War Zone was like a campy version of the comics, but was overall surprisingly accurate, even if it kind of sucked. With a different director I think this could have potentially been the best movie.
The TV show was somehow worse than the Dolph movie.
Obviously Bernthal.
I know I'm the only one, but Thomas Jane for me.
I just wish Thomas Jane was a bigger guy. He's got the right face for him, though
Thomas Jane is best mainline Frank, Ray Stevenson was MAX Frank. And while the 2004 film was decent, War Zone had Jigsaw's effect done fairly well, if not the character.
Thomas Jane would have been better off playing Mack Bolan than the Punisher, they’re almost the same character but Bolan isn’t so po-faced — he’ll crack a joke now and then, lends himself to cinematic stories, and is just more movie-friendly in general
Could have been a major franchise if they didn’t frick it up, which they would have, but still
Whatever happened to that Mack Bolan movie with Bradley Cooper?
Thomas Jane and Dolph Lundgren.
Jane sounds the best but looks small
Lundgren and Stevenson look best but sound the worst.
Bernyhal is mediocre and had the worst script
Brick shithouse Frank is cool but a semi-tall but realistically proportioned fits better for a nam vet/operator type imo.
>t. favourite moment in MAX is when he smashes the Mongolian to death
Agreed
I think brick shithouse Frank is something that should just be kept to MAX, really. I like myself a leaner Frank (and I think it looks better that way if he's wearing a costume, too)
>Ray Stevenson died
No multiverse Punisher movie ever
>*steals ur movie with just one scene*
>Gets kwabbed like a hot summer night in '92
True story, the scene where Jane stabs him with the knife, it turned out they used a real knife. One of the prop guys screwed up and didn't switch out the knife to the prop one so when they filmed the scene Jane used a real one and actually stabbed the dude in the chest. Being a pro-wrestler used to getting hurt and not showing it, the big guy just rolled with it and just followed the script.
Jane actually realized it was a real knife after he couldn't pull it out, so the look on his face in the film was of genuine shock and horror. But he didn't want to ruin the scene either, so he just went with it as well. In the end, they actually used the real stabbing for the final cut of the film.
Also, in that scene where they throw Punisher through a wall, it was Jane doing his own stunts. They ended up doing that scene over and over because none of em looked like they "Hurt" enough. And that wasn't any kind of special effects, that was the big dude literally tossing another grown man through a wall.
....so in the end, my vote goes for Tom Jane.
Reminder that Dirty Laundry is the most accurate adaptation of The Punisher in live action.
And the 2005 video game is the most accurate adaptation of The Punisher PERIOD.
In other words, Jane is the best Punisher and it's not even close. Even if he looks the lest like the character.
I watched Dirty Laundry again the other day, after finishing Jane's movie, and it wasn't nearly as good or cool as I remembered it being back in the day
Still, it's pretty impressive for a fan film to have gotten Thomas Jane back as the Punisher, even for just 10 minutes, so it wins points for that alone
Yeah, I can't believe a Hollywood producer was able to get him back.
how are there this many live action punishers
Before Disney bought Marvel they weren't ashamed of the character and didn't pretend that it wasn't one of their most popular IPs.
sure but its kinda insane seeing him have 4 times as many live action versions as iron man
Vigilante spree shooter is much easier to commit to film than dude in a sci-fi mech suit.
yeah makes sense. tho i dont get why they didnt just make warzone a sequel to the 2004 movie
That's how it started, but Jane didn't like the way the script was going and eventually left, which is why it was rebooted.
i wonder if a sequel to the 2004 movie wouldve done well. surely better than warzone
Jane wanted Walter Hill to direct it, that guy can make an action movie.
Also he doesn't require a big budget to work since he just shoots stuff compared to say hulk where to match the things you see on pages requires a lot
Punisher '89 has borderline nothing to do with the source material but is a solid '80s action movie on its own merits. Always sort of wished that Frank's alcoholic thespian informant got worked into the comics
Warzone.
Netflix Daredevil Punisher > Dirty Laundry > War Zone > Thomas Jane movie > Lundgren movie > Netflix Punisher
Ironically, Jon played a better Punisher in Daredevil than his own series, seeing him every now and then and when we did, he was usually extremely violent. The spin off was too long, too much fluff and was boring. The 10 minute compilation on youtube of all the good shit is much better than spending 50+ hours on Netflix for hours and hours of boring ass nothing
Ray was great because he spoke so little, but the chandelier akimbo ballet twist was really gay and cringe. Plus, watch carefully, in many parts he fires the pistols before he points and even draws, hahaha. I thought he trained for 6 months with actual weapons, kwab
