Not but it's enjoyable.
I'll watch it again in 15 years when it becomes vintage. Saw it once in theaters and didn't really think about it after.
It was garbage. Nonsensical story, cliche villain, tropes up the wazoo. A pity Oscar if there ever was one
Whats his best movie?
departed?
he has a ton of enjoyable stuff but none of it is great
For some reason The Beach and Basketball Diaries are coming to mind. Not even that they're great, but just that there was something about those movies that were more entertaining than the others.
Romeo & Juliet was pretty unique, but I'm not sure that would make it good. I just think that in time maybe it'll be a little less misunderstood.
ouatih
Inception, Wolf of Wall Street, or the Departed.
I feel like Leo carried Wolf of Wall Street while Departed was an ensemble effort.
Gilbert Grape
Critters 3
the wolf of wall street is definitely the best one where he's the lead
Best movie he's been in is Departed, but he is completely actingmogged by Jack.
Best movie he's the centerpiece of is Wolf of Wall Street.
titanic is better than wolf of wall street
in fact wolf of wall street is just not that good, period
Blood Diamond
Departed
But his best performance is unironcally the one where he plays the climate change nerd.
Don't look up
It was beyond kino. We are talking CGI bears levels of kino. We are talking 'letting your underbite and lower jaw of rotten peg teeth from years of cocaine abuse do the acting for you" levels of kino.
It was meh, just an excuse for Leo's pitty Oscar
Nature Kino
Pre industrial revolution kino
Fresh crisp air Kino
Yes, It was kino.
You forgot the best part, Tom Hardy
it was so fricking kino 😀
no cultural impact besides leo getting raped by a bear jokes
Everything except the story. Read the journals of Hugh Glass. The natives were the buttholes, not the other way around. Top notch cinematography I will say, especially the river scenes.
TPBP.
The soundtrack/score is still to this day my most listened to of any film I've ever seen.
Everytime I visit my friend who lives in Colorado we drive to the top of the Rockies while listening to the soundtrack, and it is such an experience.
Watch the film and enjoy
i was so hyped for this movie that i read the book prior to it and then that made the movie a 1/10
they added so much shit and butchered a simple story completely changing the meaning of the novel
I remember drunkenly buying a big wool blanket because I first watched it right before winter and I was like frick that looks cold.
Fun watch, could've done without the "please audience I beg you, just one little oscar for all of this effort" shot at the end though
Oscar bait
Visually yeah, the natural lighting and cinematography looks amazing. Story was just okay I guess.
