Boyd has a way with words. I can listen to him spew nonsense for hours. >tfw you will never join the Crowder Commandos
just give me Poison Pie Moonshine already
The ending would've been as great as everyone says if this bastard paid for his crimes. Then it would have been a masterpiece in my book. But no they have to have him get off scot free. They could have at least exposed his rape to the public. And him paying for his crimes would fit in perfectly with the whole >le need to pay for le crimes
I feel like the writers just let him get off scot free because they wanted to copy The Wire and be like >Le politician gets away with le murder because le government is corrupt and this is my way of expressing anger at the world
He is not a fully good character but he is very relatable and he has A moral compass even if you don't agree with it. Contrasted with people who are much worse or hypocrites he does come off as the anti-hero of the show.
Vic's storyline with Glenn Close was kino and I wish they kept her on.
>he has A moral compass even if you don't agree with it
are you fricking kidding me
the whole point of the ending is that his 'morals' were just a cover to do whatever the frick he wanted
he ended up selling out his only loyal follower to save himself
he spent all this time saying how much he fricking hated terry crowley and in the end, he did the exact same thing terry crowley did. sell out his own squad
jesus fricking christ
no, even as a huge shield fan i can't agree with this
there were so many stupid side plots. in season 2 they flirted with fixing this by giving less screen time to the secondary characters and more time to the strike team (the actual good part of the show), but then they didn't continue to do so for some reason and went back on that idea.
-danny's side plots are moronic. the islamic widow tries to ruin her life but then just goes nowhere, she loses her job because of vic's antics but then just gets it back immediately and forgives vic. the bald officer literally shoots himself in front of her and she doesn't even change. she should have been written off
-julian is not even a character. his only character trait is that he's gay, and then they turn him straight so he is literally an empty shell of a man
-hanlon was a terrible character. she is put on a city wide advertising initiative for police department recruitment and then used in an undercover sting operation weeks later.
-dont even get me started on the young handsome guy from who was being groomed to replace vic. i cant even remember his name.
the only good side character I can remember was Tavon, and they wrote him off god knows why.
not saying the show sucks, its underrated. just not top tier
>-julian is not even a character. his only character trait is that he's gay, and then they turn him straight so he is literally an empty shell of a man
he turned himself straight because he realised being gay was too sinful and was hurting him and all the people around him. it was a heroic story of self improvement by seeking help from a higher power (God). i know you copy pasted this comment from reddit so consider this (You) an act of charity.
that's great and all but he has 0 defining character traits. being straight isn't a compelling story, billions do it every day, i don't find it interesting or noteworthy.
it would have been more exciting showing me julian filing his taxes
I agree danny and julian are bland characters but they mostly just show up to help develop the important characters. Like all the stuff with Danny and Vic was pointless if you just look at her character, but it impacted Vic a lot. I do wish they explored julian becoming more corrupt though.
Hanlon only existed to create drama for Dutch. I agree the undercover cop thing was kind of moronic.
I thought Vic's replacement was fine. He's a little boring but he's supposed to be a stark contrast to Vic.
yeah whats really infuriating is they could have done so many things to make julian a very entertaining part of the show, but they just let him sit there in mediocrity.

This is too long and too moronic to reply with in detail so focusing on Danny and Julien -
The point of Danny is that she’s not really got it together in her personal life. She’s a mess. Her relationships are dysfunctional and codependent and she’s attracted to emotionally distant, domineering men. In some ways sex is her form of self-destruction/ addiction - the affair with Vic is her way of letting off steam. The job damages Danny but although she is wounded by the things she sees she just soldiers in grimly - after so long in the trenches she’s numbed, or hardened, to violence and tragedy. That’s why she indulges in affairs she knows are morally wrong and shameful. She forgives Vic because she has low self-worth, as evidenced by her attraction to neglectful men (and married men), and also because she feels guilty herself for her own sins.
As to Julien, homosexuality in some ways is a gateway sin, and the show is about his struggle with a feeling of being damned. Once exposed to Vic, Vic becomes Julien’s tempter and draws him into much greater evil.
Both characters demonstrate Vic’s corrosive effect on the people around him, the collateral damage that his schemes and machinations cause. Ultimately Vic is a megalomaniac addicted to power and he’ll pursue that power at any cost.
>she’s attracted to emotionally distant, domineering men
she is immediately smitten by a (on first impression) kind hearted man helping neighborhood children bury dead pets. this ends up being not the case and he is some kind of weird fetishist, but that's irrelevant. She has an immediate attraction to him and he is none of the things you described.
like i said you're just making shit up that doesn't really apply to the characters in reality, it might as well be fan fiction.
>she is immediately smitten by a (on first impression) kind hearted man helping neighborhood children bury dead pets. this ends up being not the case and he is some kind of weird fetishist
Way to disprove your own argument fricktard. The point is she has terrible taste in men and makes hugely optimistic, idealistic estimations of their characters ignoring obvious red flags and her own mistreatment at their hands (like with the creepy animal serial killer or w/e, and with Vic Mackey). Good job proving to everybody you are a complete fricking moron who can't even manage to watch television without fricking it up.

Hey calm down. Be nice to the dude, homosexual. Nobody takes your pseudo intellect seriously.
In case you don't remember, Shane tried to swindle some losers after they ran out of money while on the run, but got ganged up on. In the ensuing chaos Mara gets startled and shoots and kills girl who isn't part of the fight.
So if they got caught Mara would be doing mandatory life sentence for murder and armed robbery. Shane attempts to negotiate a surrender if they let Mara and Jackson go but Claudette refuses to go for it, meaning their fate is sealed, if they get caught they will be go to prison separately, Mara will give birth in prison and her child will be taken from her, Jackson will grow up in foster care and Shane will die in prison.
The Wire is more interesting to discuss as a timepiece of sorts encapsulating several different themes/narratives throughout
most people prob just think of The Shield as another detective show which are a diamond dozen
that doesn't mean Antwon can't get to him. He runs the prison and typically that means prison guards. the guards have no reason to protect Ronnie since, he was involved in a group of cop killers.

watching through it now for the first time, it’s crazy knowing how it isn’t mentioned in crime drama circles like other shows. plotlines can get over the top and non sensical but man it’s such an addictive show
shows that actually deliver on the entertainment factor tend to get snubbed, and it's a shame because the shield is genuinely amazing on top of the pleb appeal
nah man, the whole point is dutch maybe having the potential to become that but getting confirmation against it when he killed the cat but didn't feel that "inexplicable feeling" the cuddler rapist was trying to convey
him turning out to be a serial killer despite that would just make that whole scene an edgy fake-out
Naw. Member when one of the Strike Team got killed and Kavanaugh roasted Mackie: >"Now look what you did. Ya got him killed."
And they charged eachother. K-Dogg whooped Vic's ass.
I thought it was weird they made him such a sperg
I initially thought he was going to be this super smart, cunning guy that could go toe to toe with Vic mentally and outmaneuver him
Instead he reveals himself as an undercover cop to Corrinne almost immediately just because he's completely autistic and he gets outsmarted by Vic at every opportunity. He gets Shane arrested but only because his informant watched him steal the drugs. His investigating didn't uncover anything new
-every episode is the same
-every season is the same
Alot of FX shows follow this same dynamic.
How's your dead Black person homosexual son doing?
every season of Justified is different
based Justified Chad
can't wait to see Rayyyyylin Gibbens shootouts again
I do declare! Did I hear someone say 'Justified' within my vicinity?
Boyd has a way with words. I can listen to him spew nonsense for hours.
>tfw you will never join the Crowder Commandos

The formula works and it changes it up enough to keep it interesting. I watched the whole series in about a month and it never felt repetitive.
What didn't make sense?
The whole Ronnie thing
low test homosexual detected
SPOOK STREET
The last season of the Shield made no sense and Vic was out of character.
Yeah, the writing got significantly better and it was much less geared in having Vic walk away scott-free. Almost a different show even.
Why are you people obsessed with cuckolding?
keep seething, dutchboy
The side plot of this homie suing the department is the best side plot of television history
It's a white boy thing
Hol' the frick up.
What do you mean, "you people"?
White people
Fricking Billings, our boy Dutch did not deserve this
Billings was based

bros...
based Billings Chads
Too racist, edgy and morally ambiguous
Lots of people in the 2000's thought Vic was supposed to be the good guy
Vic was the good guy 95% of the time. He only did a few things that truly crossed the line.
He is not a fully good character but he is very relatable and he has A moral compass even if you don't agree with it. Contrasted with people who are much worse or hypocrites he does come off as the anti-hero of the show.

yeah it feels like you're just creating fan fiction for poorly written, 2 dimensional characters rather than what's actually there.
yeah it feels like you don't have an argument because you struggle to concentrate when watching TV shows...

i would ruin my life for she
daily reminder that mara did literally nothing wrong.
Besides being an annoying dumb c**t just like Vic's wife
>Vic's wife
I remember getting caught off-guard seeing this so I had to take a jack-off break
cute butt
bros... why did he do it...
it had to be done
But why? He could have just taken the blame for everything and let them try to start over
Shane is such a tragic and well written character it's insane. I haven't seen the show in months but I still think about his arc all the time.
In case you don't remember, Shane tried to swindle some losers after they ran out of money while on the run, but got ganged up on. In the ensuing chaos Mara gets startled and shoots and kills girl who isn't part of the fight.

bruh
don't be such a pedantic pre-madonna
this hurt more
Terrible pilot episode
shane being a racist but also a kween enjoyer was kino, he's literally me
>we used to drill oil together
I feel he plays the same character in every show and it makes for a based continuity
wtf I don't remember this part. Shane raped a girl?
It's really not better than The Wire
>aiiii dios mio i'm burning
>From now on, when I say, "Suck my dick", you say, "You want me tolickyourballs,Daddy?
>tfw Ronnie has to lick his balls every day in between butthole tearing sessions
Vic did him wrong
wouldnt he have been placed in protective custody?
that doesn't mean Antwon can't get to him. He runs the prison and typically that means prison guards. the guards have no reason to protect Ronnie since, he was involved in a group of cop killers.
He was involved in cop killing.

Why did they scrap the ending reveal that Dutch is a serial killer? Would have been so fricking kino
Would have been moronic. Don't ever become a writer please
But it was set up multiple times. Getting rid of it is the actual moronic thing to do
nah man, the whole point is dutch maybe having the potential to become that but getting confirmation against it when he killed the cat but didn't feel that "inexplicable feeling" the cuddler rapist was trying to convey
him turning out to be a serial killer despite that would just make that whole scene an edgy fake-out
It was so kino
Going to wait a couple of years and then I think I'll be able to rewatch it without remembering too much
PISS!
Kavagnah was a great anti-villain.
Kavanaugh bros... we got BTFO twice
Naw. Member when one of the Strike Team got killed and Kavanaugh roasted Mackie:

vic won
>the writer's barely disguised fetish
>tfw they age her up in a later ep
understandable though
>"Pussy tastes like sweet butter."
How this shit was on the air in 2000 blows my mind.
>Black person and homosexual said several times but not a single frick uttered throughout the whole show
A truly different time.
I thought it was weird they made him such a sperg

Apples and Oranges. Just like Breaking Bad.
Frick Mad Men though, that was for gays and pedos.
Claudette falling down the stairs was unintentionally one of the funniest scenes. I still chuckle just thinking about it.
I'm halfway through season 4 and this season is BORING. anthony anderson is not kino
