No. Sometimes there's permanent status quo changes but those are rare. Even something like Fat Tony dying and being replaced by his identical cousin is treated as non-canon.
They've also done entire "non-canon" episodes like one where Sara Wiggum has a different design and was lesbian israeliteel thief or something.
Homer is "canonically" dead in the future episodes, replaced by any number of clones.
They just do whatever they want. Don't overthink it.
