The Simpsons we deserve

It's been fricking 32 years. We need a new Simpsons show. Not a reboot, just a new version of the show. You can only write so many shitty episodes for 30 years. The show is stale. All the good eps have passed, the only time they are truly creative is Treehouse of horror (OK Even I will say that varies but still, feels like there's more freedom.) I would love to see all the later characters like Jenda. I would like to see a gay Lisa. It would just make sense

Why is she gay? She's to smart to be gay.

You've watched Lisa, you know that sometimes she overthinks things even at her IQ. She seems like the type of person that would eventually say, "All men are idiots, only women understand me"

        >only women understand me
women hate other women BECAUSE they understand them

No no, it wont be that type of situation. She'll have some reason where she monologues something like, "I've dated a lot of different boys and men in my life, Millhouse, Nelson, Ralph, Langdon, Jessie, and a lot more. They were great as kids because they didn't know any better, but as an adult, none of them really understand how women think. I don't think most men do. I mean, look at dad Bart, look how many times mom could have left but for some reason she didn't. Why does mom stay with dad? I love our father but with all due respect, dad is a buffon. He makes a million mistakes, constantly messes up, half the time can't do anything right, yet still is with mom. Most men mess everything up. This is why I've decided to go from being bisexual to gay with relationships"

"Whatever makes you happy sis. That's what matters to me. You know I'll always support you. I love you and that's what matters"

It'll be some heart-felt shit where she makes a halfway decent point about men. It wouldn't be worded exactly like that

          >We need a new Simpsons show. Not a reboot, just a new version of the show.
I was enjoying Duncanville until it was cancelled.

God, this is the laziest art style.

I forgot to add that in the monologue she'll mention bleeding gums, Einstien, that 1 teacher in elementary she had, and a handful of other men that she looked up to because of how smart and caring they were but ultimately say that most men are idiots and she can't personally take it. Try to explain that she's just not on that level of thinking.

Sadly that won't work, because the writers, in a bit of self-awareness, have EXPLICITLY stated that Lisa has to end up with Milhouse and being miserable as frick as an adult.

And if anything, I can see them run the angle where ALL of Lisa's lesbian relationships from her gay phase end because of Lisa's bullshit. IE she's too SJW for her girlfriends, who just want to live normal lives and not be perpetually raging against the machine.

Which in turn is why she ends up going back to men and marrying Milhouse in particular. Lesbian women won't put up with Lisa's bullshit for more than a year or two and eventually one of them is going to give Lisa the mother of all "Glenn Quagmire tells Brian why he's the worst person in the world" speech complete with pointing out how she can't STAND the idea of Bart doing better than her and will actively sabotage him if he is doing better than Lisa in life. To the point that I would not be shocked if Lisa explicitly ruined Bart's marriage to Jenna ala Mary ruining Edith's engagements on Downton Abby because if she can't be happy, Bart can't be happy.

Because Californians associate high IQ and virtue itself with being anything that isn't straight, white or male.

There's no point to the Simpsons anymore, just kill it off already. It has already overstayed its welcome for a possible reboot

this, a reboot will last just a bunch of episodes, then people will lose interest

It's strange that the simpsons dont age but the era that they're in does so homer and Marge are pretty much millennials now. Even their finale ended on a weird note that it doesnt make any sense that a single income man with no qualifications can afford a suburban home with 3 kids and a housewife in the current year

        >It's strange that the simpsons dont age but the era that they're in does so homer and Marge are pretty much millennials now.
What's even stranger is that there are plenty of millennials who grew up with the Simpsons and had this idea of them being old people from the 60s and now they're watching characters who allegedly shared the same childhood as them. One day, we'll turn on the TV and Homer will be talking about growing up doing TikTok dances.

Nah dawg, Disney can reanimate corpses with CGI magic. You work for the Mouse, it's not just for life.

      >he thinks they'll stop
By the time one of the main cast becomes worm food (my guess is either Harry Shearer or Julie Kavner when her throat fully disintegrates), AI voices will have come so far that they'll just use that instead. They will brainwash everyone into thinking it's really cool rather than extremely fricking creepy.

that's a bad idea once autists figure out how to use this to have their BartxSkinner fujo fics read with the actual voices.

never said that anon, I'm looking at the future. Homers a fun guy to watch but there's only so much you can write of him till you just want him dead. Instead, I want to see him used less but in better situations and funnier. Some of the best eps out there are of Abe. Think of it like that. It's not that I don't want Homer, I just don't want him going so incredibly stale as a cracker that he's a soggy limp gross cracker that we say, "Why didn't we just through this one out?"

    >The Simpsons we deserve
    Why do you DESERVE anything?

Can you be more specific as to why you want a "new version" of the show?

      Anonymous

Because they've told all of the stories they can tell with Bart and Lisa as kids and it's quite clear that the current batch of writers want to do shit with Bart having girlfriends, to the point that you had MULTIPLE episodes by several writers who clearly want a teenage/young adult Bart so they can give him a harem and write their Woody Allen fanfiction with the character.

        Anonymous

Yeah, but even if you tweak the setting of the characters, they'll still deal with the same situations, characters & other set ups that they do in the show. Instead of "wacky thing happens to Bart while he's at school" it would just be "wacky thing happens to Bart while he's at work" or "wacky thing happens to Lisa while she's at college" or something. I honestly have no idea how this would be fundamentally different.
