The South Park one was pretty much perfect. It clearly showed that the people working on it new how the game worked but intentionally portrayed shit wrong because they knew it would piss off the WoW nerds.
This should've been doable in the game. In dark souls you can make it to level 120 by just farming kills in the starting area, it would take ages and would be entirely pointless but it still would've been neat that you could theoretically do it
It was very normal in MMOs to grind low/er level enemies and to optimising your gear/strats to do it as efficient as possible. Blizzard introduced the mechanic that prevents enemies that are below your level from giving exp to protect casuals.
>to protect casuals.
more so it's good game design and reduces minmaxxing homosexuals from exploiting the game. WoW vanilla in part feels so good because they fixed so many glaring issues of previous MMOs
You can actually do that. Not by staying in elwynn of course, but the spread of boar levels across the whole world is enough for you to do this if you really wanted to
>every single mechanical aspect of the game was portrayed wrong >every single social and spiritual aspect of the game was portrayed perfectly right
There will never a be a video games episode done as well as the south park warcraft episode.
It's not a bad episode but it's just a generic videogame plot with a real game stitched onto it, and if you were around at the time you'd know it was that way because blizzard was advertising this shit fricking everywhere, not because Matt and Trey secretly understood the game well enough to parody it by not even parodying anything about it.
This just reeked of desparate, humiliating seething. I imagine Seth was sobbing as he forced his team to put this into the show, most likely having a leaky diaper at the same time. How anyone can think this utterly embarrasing scene is a gotcha is beyond me.
nah. the only place that scene is talked about is Cinemaphile. every outlet was covering the south park vs. family guy feud back in the day. you probably don't remember it because you were still suckling on mommy's teet
Probably true but South Park Vs Family Guy is a matchup between two shows everyone atleast knows about.
DESTROYING Bojack is fine and all but I doubt the average person knows what Bojack is.
Southpark WOW episode >work with the developers >make a bunch of jokes that explicitly reference the games and that gamers will get the most >include actual footage from the game >have actual jokes that are funny >tell an interesting story
Simpsons episode >don't make any jokes >focus on making Bart look incompetent to subvert the idea that (male) kids are better at videogames while middle aged mothers are worse >don't make any game specific jokes because the game is officially just a generic mmorpg with no identity >don't make any references that would make sense to gamers because the writers don't play videogames and never have >have a boring ass forgettable story about how wacky it would be if a middle aged mother became the most powerful character in a game that's only populated by citizens from springfield (thus completely defeating the point of the "massive" part of the mmorpg)
The problem was fricking Marge
>The Simpsons ... really shouldn't have bothered.
sneed

>i was only pretending to be moronic
go to bed matt
Case in point
>leveling to 60 just on boars
Yeah, nah.

Its to stop people afk bot farming, used to be a huge issue in mmos 10 years ago

people have been playing that frickin game for 20 years so it still holds relevance.

this scene singlehandedly BTFO family guy. they still haven't recovered
They, in turn, dropped an even bigger BTFO though.
This just reeked of desparate, humiliating seething. I imagine Seth was sobbing as he forced his team to put this into the show, most likely having a leaky diaper at the same time. How anyone can think this utterly embarrasing scene is a gotcha is beyond me.
What show is still airing
Calm down guy who made the horse show nobody remembers
>This just reeked of desparate, humiliating seething.
And it's all absolved by the fact that it killed Bojack anyway.

the writers started calling their own jokes manatee jokes so i don't think they cared that much
Peak South Park was better than golden age Simpsons. There, I said it.
peak rick and morty btfos both
Rick and Morty has like 5 really good episodes. South Park and Simpsons have dozens.
that's why I said peak, moron. your're IQ isn't high enough to understand
Based and true
Cringe and wrong
Peak South Park was funnier but golden age Simpsons is comfier. They're good for different reasons.
I remember seeing this when it came out and even then I thought it was shit.

>have a boring ass forgettable story about how wacky it would be if a middle aged mother became the most powerful character in a game that's only populated by citizens from springfield (thus completely defeating the point of the "massive" part of the mmorpg)
They really “shouldn’t have bothered” with every season after 9
what about sneed
What about it?
NO FREAKIN WAY
Lois, Marge Simpson just spent 30,000 hours farming gold while Maggie starved to death in her crib
nyehehehehehe
This was supposed to be a wow parody? I thought it was just a generic mmo ep.
