This may be cheating, but the worst song of the movie is easily Hell Isn't Good. I get the "Hell = metal" thing they're going for, but it's just not pleasant to listen to and it doesn't really fit the style of the rest of the songs (which may have been the point, but still).

My parents asked me what shows I liked, but they didn't know South Park, so I explained how it was a comedy and it had a lot of swearing and edgy stuff. I think only American parents have a problem with their kids hearing the frick word in a show (while having no problem with them hearing the same thing in real life).

I actually learned it from South Park that in America, people give a shit about ratings, and movie theaters don't even let you in to certain movies, which surprised me because that's not how it works here, anybody can watch whatever they want, the ratings are just recommendations.

For porn theaters, we have a restricted category, but that's only given to straight up porn movies in theaters, which don't even exist anymore. You can buy porno mags at any age though.

In developed countries we care about the ratings.

The South Park movie is the series finale of classic South Park. Episodes before it are timeless and can be enjoyed to this day with little to no context. Everything after it is when they transitioned to doing topical humor and if you weren't alive at the time and following the news and current events, the jokes fall flat.

That's a bit disingenuous. They were working on the movie during season 3. There were still some timeless classic in the remainder of the season and the following
      >The Korn episode
      >Monkey Phonics

That's incredibly disingenuous. The movie came out in 1999 during season 3. Things didn't overally political until after season 6ish.

More like the opposite. It gets better and more relevant with each passing year.
The message of the film is that social panics and censorship are never right. Thats a hard pill to swallow for homosexuals like OP who live on twitter.

It's still pretty funny but the whole premise of the movie (moral panics about profanity in cartoons) is completely dated now. most zoomers have no idea whatsoever what it's like to live in a country with that puritan sense of public morality. i don't think they'd get it. not that i'm saying we were better off with it, but it just doesn't exist in the same way anymore. the closest we have is the panic around tiktok turning kids brains into sludge but the difference here is that we can look at the data of children both self-reporting and being diagnosed with mental illnesses, and at hospital admissions for suicide attempts, and similar things, and actually say conclusively that social media + 24/7 screen time has actually given pretty much everyone under the age of 25 a synthetic mental illness.

Stop being moronic. If the shit that came out today came out at the time the south park movie did there'd be parental groups across the country flipping their shit over lil nas x and whatever Black emo rapper is popular.
Parents today don't give a frick about their kids in the way that 90s/2000s parents did.

they sure did, but whenever in the first seasons they ripped on some current social or political event, they used their own characters and lots of metaphors and making it all funny. I've no idea what Big Gay Al's episode was based on, yet I can still watch it today and laugh because it's using it's own characters and story. On the other hand, there's an episode from 10 years ago that was based on a shitty Brad Pitt film and the Zimmerman shooting a Black person kid, who the frick remembers either of those? Big Gay Al will still be watchable 10, 20 years later, but the Zimmerman episode makes absolutely no fricking sense whatsoever

I also miss when the show had a supernatural aspect. They had Mr. Hankey, various alien races would show up every now and then, there'd be random monsters like Scuzzlebutt, Jesus and Satan appeared WAY more frequently than they do nowadays... I miss that.

when the show started, the self inserts for T and M were Stan and Kyle, with some episodes being very overexaggerated stories from their childhood in Colorado. Since Trey hit 40 and can no longer relate to the kids, his self insert is Randy, whom was also based on Trey's father, Randy Parker
