But I got a question on this one.
If a customer brings in a riding mower, let's say a sweet Cub Cadet 54" zero turn...and it's a dropped valve, so I change the oil, set the valves, educate the customer on heat damage/low oil problems...

how many times do I get to charge the customer for a job from 10 years ago?

I mean...do I just tell the customer, who hired me for a single job, and me, as an indy doing as I like, that they keep owing me until I die or they do?

I 100% understand a Jimmy Stewart or Leonard Nimoy complaint on likeness/image, royalties on it, etc...to a point.

But how many times do I get to sell the same job I did to the company that hired me to do the one job?

us working stiffs get paid once and have to frick off. For some reason everyone in Hollywood needs to get paid for infinity for one job.
this is why movies are so expensive to make in the first place. It's all union work. that's why nobody will dare take a chance on a film/show unless its the most generic safe bullshit.

I wonder how much the writers are responsible for the current state of things tbh. There's always a lot of meddling from the studios.
And the "woke outrage" calling people names for not liking their shitty products is usually just a viral marketing strategy. There are firms specialized in setting up those sort of things.
On principle I'll stand with workers that just want to make a decent living. But I got to admit I really hate at least 90% of what they produce.
But also I fear that it'll get even worse after they replace most of them with AI. Whatever narratives and ideologies the people in charge want to promote, they'll be able to do so even more easily and efficiently.

        >On principle I'll stand with workers that just want to make a decent living
you never read Marx or even any marxist book, "standing with workers"? Do you think standing with homosexuals that make tons of money by doing nothing compared to the working class, that parasite a bloated service economy, that extract capital from real workers, has any bearing in any principal at all?
you are just a lemming homosexual trying to be a contrarian, void of any beliefs, sucking up to your masters and their propaganda, go frick yourself, Black person, go jump of a bridge

          Anonymous

          >you never read Marx or even any marxist book, "standing with workers"?
I don't need to read Marx to stand with workers for frick's sake. I do not care about Marx. You can't actually "stand with workers" unless you read some book from 150 years ago? Talk about gatekeeping.
Most "workers" are in the service economy now. It doesn't mean that they don't matter or that they're "traitors" to the working class or whatever.
          >Do you think standing with homosexuals that make tons of money
Most writers don't. And they have very little job security on top of that. But tbf, I think a lot of them come from rich families. Like journalists.
There's a whole "cultural elite" in modern western society I'm very skeptical of.
          >by doing nothing compared to the working class
It's not nothing. A lot of those service jobs matter. Entertainment doesn't 100% suck, I do like some films/series/vidyas.
And I do think it was crazy to offshore all of those manufacturing jobs. It was a scam actually. You can't push the service economy meme too far. It's making society worse in the long-run. We need to reindustrialize, start building infrastructure again and go back to having more blue collar jobs. It'd do wonder for people's health too.
          >that parasite a bloated service economy, that extract capital from real workers
jfc MOST people work in the service economy now. You're calling MOST of society parasites even if they're poor. How is this going to work? How could there possibly be any progress if you want to politically divide people like that? I don't even disagree that most of society is engaged in busy work and don't produce much value but it's not like it's their fault or that they're actively colluding against "real" workers (and are thus the enemy).

    unions are not leftist
"left" is anti-capitalist. That's the fricking definition. NO, there are NO left voices in politics in the west, not even in Scandinavia (that's PRO CAPITALIST 'Nordic model' democracy, nothing to do with leftism) the voices you would call anarchist, communist, or socialist in nations like America are SILENT and VERBOTTEN.
"Left" is only an insult, an accusation against progressive and centrist LIBERALS in sanctioned parties like the DNC in America, The Labor party in UK.
Unions have a leftist 'feel' because when they started they were connected loosely to early anarchism and went against the idea of property rights for the ultra rich. Unions NO LONGER QUESTION the absolute right of property. They go along with it, they tie their own hands over it, they beg, moan, desperately try to suck corpo wiener all day long. Early unions in the US would be embarassed to call any modern unions 'unions'. They are NOT, they are capitulation, more of the same, pure capitalism.
The government has the right, power, and responsibility to curtail the evils of oligarchs. THEY DON'T BECAUESE THEY ARE THE OLIGARCHS, they plan to become oligarchs when they 'retire' from politics, it's a fricking revolving door.
THERE IS NO LEFTISM IN AMERICA OR THE WEST.

'capitalism' is government not stopping crooks, caveat emptor, the buyer beware, property rights including owning everything, whole towns, all the beach, all the forest, all the mines, no one not mega rich is allowed to even live, they must be slaves for the rich. The rich, while they are unelected in a so-called 'republic' are beyond the law as well as completely control the lives of anyone who isn't insanely wealthy.
Life cannot function this way. America tried it desperately for many decades. They were FORCED to enforce silly stupid laws like no kids losing their fingers in dangerous factory work, no poisoning the entire water supply, no company towns, no company rule of whole regions of territory.
But there is a problem: technology. As soon as a new technology is invented the entire capitalist system that exists on the margins of legality (and are often purely above the law, with complete freedom to murder and poison people for decades before one day maybe getting fined for .00003% of their insane profits) abuses it and people die or suffer or the entire economy 'collapses' for those who depend on it (not the rich, they already have private islands and ratlines out of any nation they are actively indifferent to as they purposefully destroy a nation's infrastructure for a quick buck).
TLDR: be a slave to owners (they are no different from medieval lords, it's purely feudalism with extra steps) or fight back. UNIONS NO LONGER FIGHT BACK. THEY ARE WORTHLESS.

    >On December 1, 2008, Ruffalo's younger brother, Scott, was found outside his home on North Palm Drive in Beverly Hills with an execution-style bullet wound to the head. Scott was taken to a hospital, but died the following week. The case remains unsolved.

It's the same bitter /misc/tards that spam the board 24/7 about race rage and troony israelites. They hate Hollywood/pop culture because it constantly reminds them that they are the dwindling past. So they're excited about anything that makes life difficult for the creators. They don't care about the facts or the amount of corporate greed on display. As long as the liberal writers are struggling it's a temporary win in their self delusional culture war.

This. Executives and studio heads must be protected.

Few months ago all those homosexual actors and israelite writers were sucking execs and defending the studios from "le chud biggot nazis" because we didn't like you globohomosexual goyslop. Paroting word for word what the studios told them to say.
Now all of the sudden you have to defend millionaire actors and writers or else you are on the studio's side.
I hope this drags as much as possible, studios lose as much money as possible, writers and actors starve to death, gets replaced by AI and the union breaks.

the most obscene shit i see are people defending writers and actors because muh ebil studios and calling themselves "leftists" as if they are owning against the system
complete shit eaters defending rich people that snub on everyone else as the superior liberal race, you are as rebel as a suburban american teenager drinking toddy and listening to remixed rage againt the machine

There are subversives attempting to cast the writers and actors in a favorable light by saying it's the producers forcing woke shit.

Even if it's true, following their orders is the same as condoning them. I don't care if it's how you make a living, you can't be a mercenary and call yourself a pacifist because it's your boss that tells you to kill. Likewise you were selected because you followed the woke agenda or were removed. So don't act like you were innocent in all this. You played a part and because of that you deserve to go bankrupt just like your bosses.

yes, ruff ruffman is a stooge. he's a pretty decent actor but his designer bleach and cocaine stained ensemble is very on the nose for COSTUMES rather than clothing

the idea of getting fair wages for (people that work) IS a good idea, however. especially since the people who are truly rich are now richer than ever, and we have made money the end all be all of survival. especially in America, where you cruise along where everything is fine until you get sick or have any kind of medical misfortune which spirals between healthcare costs and protection for workers to struggle in a matter of weeks.

there's tones of voice where you know its a bot or a shill or some kind of non-entity dehumanized-izing agenda bullshit butthole.

you can't count on me is a great counting crows song

    good luck to everybody
that stays with them most of the time
it takes time to make these machines work
and we ain't got time while you're riding in

The money that they get for their work is more than fair. The fat Black person that wrote for She Hulk got 32k for a few episodes. They just want more because they’re greedy homosexuals.
