Once nu-wars and the MCU died, they really had nothing else to talk about and the quality dropped dramatically. They created an audience based on this era of film, as well as calling out the bad points of it. And even when they’re right about those points, once this era is dead, they really don’t have anything else to offer. When they talk about other stuff is when you realize they’re pretty pedestrian in their cinema preferences, and they don’t add anything unique to it themselves.
I’ll be old in bringing this up as a reference but if you were around for it, think back to the GamerGate years. How many YouTubers got started and got attention just from covering that clusterfrick? How many stayed popular by keeping track of that and of stuff like Anita? When all that was over, what happened to them?
