Yeah and with her being a nun there's some talk about belief in God, which is unheard of in modern garbage entertainment. They don't want people to look into spirituality of any sort 99% of the time.
Yeah it's pretty good and reminiscent of earlier Walking Dead seasons. a couple episodes felt a little sluggish but then it picks up again. the new female character has an odd kind of beauty, the nun
The original show felt some 3 seasons longer than it should (especially without rick/carl), even though the last season had good new characters like princess and mercer, and the blonde guy that looks like a resident evil villain, it was slow
Unless they make the zombies do something new and more dangerous it has run its course
>Unless they make the zombies do something new and more dangerous it has run its course
They are in fact introducing new zombie variants due to experimentation. Some bleed caustic fluids which might be a natural evolution, the other type is they inject some kind of concotion in a zombie and they become super-zombie with super rage not just hunger and they run. Walking Dead's shitty last season introduced or reintroduced some tool using, ladder climbing zombies. But that was too little too late who gives a shit
>They have super fast zombies now
This show is so desperate lmao
amc can't afford shills anymore
they've blown the budget on 3 spinoffs trying to get the quality of s1 twd back and no ones watching
They are still making walking deads?
The original show felt some 3 seasons longer than it should (especially without rick/carl), even though the last season had good new characters like princess and mercer, and the blonde guy that looks like a resident evil villain, it was slow
Unless they make the zombies do something new and more dangerous it has run its course
>we gonna end the original show with a movies >covid happened and we took to long to end the show , so now instead of movies you get a series about rick now.
Maybe they still plan to end it on a movie but idk if TWD has the pull anymore to do well at the box office unless they have some really crazy shit in the film that gets people interested again. But I'd think they'd have to reunite the cast at some point and it won't be in any of these spinoffs shows. So it could all coalesce into some kind of movie where Rick, Daryl and co reunite or another miniseries.
Wonder how they'll explain how they reinvorgate dead flesh and musculature. within Walking Dead, according to season 1 CDC guy, the zombies have a tiny part of the brain still functioning to drive hunger and walking but not much else.
They screwed themselves. Shouldnt have made 11 full seasons with no hint of variants being a thing. Their were less than 10 Variants in 11c across 3 episodes. Its a gimmick.and they don't care about rationalizing them appearing all of a sudden.
I was thinking about the episode with Connie and the black guy stuck in a mansion with feral people 11-6. Imagine if they introduced a runner or grabber in that episode, instead of using variants as pure sequel bait. Connie is mute and deaf and the black guy was an outsider to our main group and got injured in that episode. Having them try to explain the existance of 'evolved' walkers could have been neat. They would brush it off as more Whisperers and then you have 18 episodes (11B and 11c) to actually use variants. Instead we got 3 episodes in 11c (two being the fricking finale) with variants and only 3 or 4 actually do anything.
So that means they can apparently regrow dead mucles and flesh? This is fricking stupid. AMC just wants more money and they're using cheap gimmicks to do so. AMC is probably one of the most israeli cable networks out there. The only reason Mad Men and Breaking Bad were any good was because (unlike the walking dead) they didn't have full rights. If they had full rights on Mad Men, they would have driven straight into the ground by season two. Look at what happened to season 2 of The Walking Dead or season 2 of The Terror. These israelites can't help themselves. Worst part is, they're not even good at being israelites
Yeah I think it's pretty bizarre they only started to hint at intelligent zombies again and potentially variants in the last season after it was dropped in S1. But the show seemed less interested in the zombies in it's later seasons. The threat was always some other group or themselves. Which I get is kind of the point of TWD, it's what happens after the initial chaos of a zombie apocalypse rather than the fall itself, but if you still have zombies walking around 20 years later when they should've realistically decomposed, you should do something with them.
I like the movements of these fast ones much better then any others I've seen, its smashing into things stumbling around, completely different then snyders dawn or 28 days ones
>because in the source material the way to win was to stop being moronic
The source material only has them being moronic and Rick dies because he's a moron who can't lock a bedroom door while being a high profile butthole who pisses off the son of the town's governor
As a comic reader it is so fricking funny to me that Negan and Maggie have had team up episodes and now an entire team up series.
Like the only reason Maggie doesn't ice Negan in the comics is under the condition he basically lives alone and away from her for the rest of his life.
Just looked it up, apparently Negan has a pregnant wife at the commonwealth when the new series takes place.
It would be so fricking funny though if they somehow had Maggie and Negan get together in the spinoff.
Cause the premise of the show is that they partnered up.

yea with her threat to turn him over to sheriffs that are trying to kill him, the she tries herself the second he does what she wanted him too, she also lays a few traps hoping he just dies, he gets out, the only reason she doesn't immediately kill him is the guy who kidnapped her son told her to bring him negan or her sons dead, she even sacrifices some innocent girl negan is protecting just so he won't get distracted, their is no reconciliation
Jeffrey Lean Morgan isn't a good Negan no matter what they write. Frick, he more easily pull off an accurate comic book Governor who is white trash and rapes apes
They made spin offs so that they didn't have to give Darbont any more cash after losing the suit he had against them. Real israeli shit. They're trying way to hard to copy marvel by having like 10 different spin offs all at once despite these franchises needing time and creative energy and patience to become anywhere as big (not implying marvel has any of those)
Creating super zombies is kinda stupid plan. It's just gonna backfire on them sooner or later.
I'm not sure what use those are anyway. I guess you could drop couple zombies near enemy base, droid those up and let them rip through. I don't know
yea whats the end goal? ok use them as weapons but it seems like a disaster waiting to happen, maybe they want to steal new yorks petrol too, drop them off their and let them run wild, one thing i'll say is the fast ones don't seem to last long
My initial thoughts were that Laurent was immune or "invisible" to the walkers bc of the way he was born and the scientists wanted him to create a camouflage that would protect them from the super zombies so they could just unleash them on their enemies. But it turns out there's nothing special about the kid they're just after him for political/ideological reasons.
It does seem incredibly dumb to create walkers like that if they don't have some kind of countermeasure like a toxin that kills them instantly or maybe they don't last very long like that one's head that exploded.
>or maybe they don't last very long like that one's head that exploded
I think they want to make them last X amount of time and then "self destruct", but you just know that eventually there's gonna be one that doesn't explode or whatever.
Then in the worst case it's gonna frick off and create more of those in the wild.
I assume that the acid zombies are some experiment that got loose, but I haven't paid much attention while watching so might be that those were already explained to be something else and missed it.
The acid zombies appear all over. They were at the coast when Daryl arrived in France and they were in Paris when they visited Isabelle's old apartment. So they probably are some variant that got loose. Which makes me think the runners don't last very long bc they'd be all over Paris and the place seemed pretty chill when they got there.
tbh I was expecting way more climbers and runners in the show. I thought the whole point was that Europe has a lot of castles and stuff so it'd be easier to keep the walkers out even if they are more formidable. In episode 2 they go to a castle and all the zombies are in the moat.
I think 8-10 episodes would've been better with 6 they've had to rush too much and this story needs some time to breathe, last ep especially felt really rushed trying to get through the back story so everything is set up for the finale
Yeah the series feels crazy short. Guess I'm used to TWD seasons being long but I guess this another six-hour movie type of streaming show. There's gonna be a season 2 but I'm not sure what it'll be about. They said they definitely plan to have a Daryl and Carol reunion even though Melissa McBride couldn't' do S1 so I wonder if S2 will be set in the US partly or the UK if that's easier for McBride to travel.
Really don't see why they didn't just film a flashback with her while they were doing the US scenes in E5. The radio conversation was a little half baked.
You'd think it'd be easier to film in the UK than France because they have a lot of studios there and you don't have to worry about characters not speaking English. But then Spain wouldn't be a bad idea either if they wanted to introduce Rick's brother from comics.
lol I completely forgot about him, yea either way, but I'd prefer they don't go back to the US for a while they've only just starting exploring europe

Yeah. And Norman Reedus just bought a house in Italy so I'm thinking as a producer on the show does that give him an incentive to set the next season there even. Andrew Lincoln lives in the UK ofc so they could find an excuse to bring Rick to Daryl but that's stretching it. Maybe they could just film some Rick and Daryl flashbacks at a UK studio and pretend they were in America.

this is how its going to go Carol will track down daryl after he doesn't show up, and end up in europe then the 2 of them will get into adventures before finally getting back into contact with home where they are like >yea ricks back but hes got an army on his tail get the frick back here
and big finale with all the characters, oh and negan will show up with his New York army to save the day

I'm sure it'll end with some kind of big war. It'd be interesting if the countries that have started to rebuild do start go to war with each other. Like that French lady in Daryl Dixon talking about enemies of their republic and that's why they're making biological weapons. But without planes and stuff a WW3 scenario is kind off the cards. Everything will be more localized. But the Civic Republic is enough of a threat to the rest of the US at least. So that works for the movie or finale of main story or whatever.

the french can use their cargo ships to drop off variant armies and just let them ravage, then come in once both sides are weak and clean up, I assume thats the general plan

she didn't want to have to stay in france for 6 months while filming after just finishing twd, now shes had time off shes up for it
Don't they actually mention China in one of the spinoffs or something? It's the only country outside of Spain and France I think TWD expanded on a little.
>Why hasn't there been a thread for one of the best episodes in the entire franchise?
I'd watch it but afaik it is only on AMC+ and frick getting a sub to that
The last walking dead episode I left off on some black guy's group attacked Negan's group with a tiger. Also I think someone tried to kill the nerd with a car bomb but failed.
What season was that and is it worth watching the rest of the series?
It’s honestly not. They do a pointless time skip and then basically close out the series, never revealing the fate of the only character who ever truly mattered. I like Daryl and all, and I hope this in some way ties back into what happened to Rick.
[...]
Rick is in Philadelphia. They basically split the Commonwealth in the comics into the show Commonwealth which is a lot more quaint and the Civic Republic which are much bigger and heavily militarized. In the comics Rick is a police officer for the Commonwealth so I'm not sure if that's what he was there or if he's being forced to slave labor and tried to escape.
also he is definitely trying to escape last shot of the main show you see how his boots got on that boat michonne finds
Kinda yes, kinda no. They show us he’s still alive, but not much beyond that.

Eh, it feels more "prestige" compared to TWD. Norman Reedus himself is a bit of an artsy type from what I've seen and you can see a bit of that coming through in the show's writing and direction.

Isn't that kind of obvious? I mean he has built up a fanbase that watches his motorcycle show so it's not entirely on Walking Dead but yeah, it is pretty much his whole career. I knew him from Blade and Boondocks though tbf. And he does still do movies but he's not a leading man or anything.
Nobody cares about the Walking Dead anymore. The show was stale even before the endless spinoffs started
its like they were going for inducing recursive levels of apathy.
Nobody cares shill
amc can't afford shills anymore
they've blown the budget on 3 spinoffs trying to get the quality of s1 twd back and no ones watching
Qrd?
Of the episode or the whole Daryl show thus far?
Yes please
Somehow Daryl is in fricking France.
Somehow Daryl is in France and somehow it's actually a good show with the lead female being a legit well-written and acted character.
Yeah and with her being a nun there's some talk about belief in God, which is unheard of in modern garbage entertainment. They don't want people to look into spirituality of any sort 99% of the time.
have a nice day Norman Reedus. No one cares
I care
Yeah it's pretty good and reminiscent of earlier Walking Dead seasons. a couple episodes felt a little sluggish but then it picks up again. the new female character has an odd kind of beauty, the nun

She was Fleur in the Harry Potters.

hasnt there been like 20 seasons of various walking dead shows
what is there even left to happen in a zombie show
flying zombies. programmer zombies. gay zombies.
Wonder how they'll explain how they reinvorgate dead flesh and musculature. within Walking Dead, according to season 1 CDC guy, the zombies have a tiny part of the brain still functioning to drive hunger and walking but not much else.

they wont lol
Looks like sabretooth from the first xmen movie
Is Agent Bill Wilson in the show too
Why does he wear the mask?
I like the movements of these fast ones much better then any others I've seen, its smashing into things stumbling around, completely different then snyders dawn or 28 days ones

I’m enjoying this one way, way more than the original show. I just like Daryl’s character.
kek is this real?
Yes, and unlike pretty much everything else they’ve done, it’s actually pretty fricking good.
do I have to finish the original series before I start this? I dropped that garbage when the Black person chick killed herself to kill Negan
No. The only original show tie-ins are Daryl briefly talking about people/things from back home. Nothing important.
>Somehow, Daryl is in France
They explain it.
>Somehow, they explained it

goofy as frick and revitalised the show for me

id say its worth watching to just after terminus. watch till that scene where rick bites the guys throat out and consider it the final scene.
thats before terminus

there's normal guns when they get out of the small castle town. would've been missed opportunity not have some muskets just for fun
How's Mr.Hickey in this one? That guy's a good actor
Saw that Mr. Hickey is in this. How big of a part does he have?
Pretty big role but I think he's dying in the finale.
this is so bad. i saw an interview with him where he said they were "making art" with this series. its just the same walking dead bullshit, like this very episode ended with daryl about to be attacked by a zombie as if its some kind of cliff hanger. i wonder if the zombie will kill him?

You can't refute that it's the only thing that makes him relevant.

This. There are so many laughable moments due to how shit the writing is. I really dont see how anyone thinks this is some huge step up from the usual
