why did it take him so long to bag the girl? fricking a coworker is a lot easier than learning the piano or perfectly timing an amored truck robbery.

      >I'll give you a Winter prediction. It's going to be cold. It's going to be grey. And it's going to last you for the rest of your life.
What 14,000 consecutive relived days of no Rita pussy does to a mf.

She was the ultra rare nonbawd. It took years of subconscious conditioning (it's implied they retained memory during the loop) before she was finally comfortable with him.

More than that, it also took him being an actual good person, and not just sleuthing her likes and dislikes to trick her into loving him.

Oh absolutely. Funnily enough however he had to know everybody anyway in order to do it.

That's the exact opposite of what's implied.

Wrong. Characters progressively got more comfortable with Phil earlier in the day, including people who knew and didn't like him. There was a subconscious recognition. Rita even managed to consciously remember at one moment, and assumed it was deja vu.

Is it just me or does AMC add more commercials per hour every year? It's almost as bad as the Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy.

I wonder how he handled living in Punxsutawney after the loop? I'm sure he was fine but I imagine not seeing everything coming after around 30 years of the same thing would take some adjustment.

Why would he live in Punxsutawney? He and the rest of the crew were from Pittsburgh.

Would you give up all that knowledge of all those people there, all those friends you made over those 80000 years? The power to manipulate them?

At the end of the film he says he wants to live there, but then he says “maybe rent” so maybe he did or didn’t stay there

He mentioned moving there at the end. Renting to start. Rita also loved the place.

Half a year to learn French, learn piano, learn ice sculpting, learn chiropractoring, learn the lives of an entire town, watch a Clint Eastwood move over a hundred times, kill himself a dozen times, and so on? It would take many years to do all of that

Oh also he mentions it takes six months “three to four hours a day” practicing throwing cards into a hat to become a master. I think there’s any number of “skills” like that he probably spent months or years learning that we don’t see on screen

he was there for hundreds if not thousands of years.
you dont pick up the piano as a middle aged man and play mozart within 6 months.

theres loads of references that he spent many many years stuck. The jeopardy scene where he has memorised every answer even before the question. he also admitted the card throw in to the hat took him 6 months 4 hours every day. then ice sculpting. thats all before he learned the routine of literally every person in the town and saved them all.

Why would he live in Punxsutawney? He and the rest of the crew were from Pittsburgh.

I like to think he was scared of leaving

I would load my credit card with drugs, booze, hookers and expensive hotel rooms. I would get wasted day after day for years and years. When I finally get tired I could start learning all kind of stuff. How is that a curse? You become a god.

It seems he never really tried because of the oncoming blizzard but if he left by 7AM I don't see why he couldn't just frick off and find out.
