the writing sucks, the story sucks, the acting sucks (besides Hamilton and Patrick). It's a really cheesy, bad movie, all dolled up into a well polished turd. >OMG! Arnold is the good guy! >OMG! I want a pet robot best friend too! >OMG! John talks just like Bart Simpson! So do I! >OMG! He put on shades just like in the first one!!
T2 repeats too many things from the first and overall the shots and aesthetics are much more plain. The music also is not as good. T2 is a fun movie but completely unnecessary.
i like the irony of how more and more sequels completely polluted the franchise by fricking with the time line just like how constantly sending people to fight and correct / change timelines in the past would completely muddle everything up
>John Connor is a whiny rebellious 12 year old with hacking powers and a terrible quip machine >Arnold is basically a giant dog with no character who learns to love and understand humans, kills zero people while also spewing out terrible quips
this shit really brings down T2, even if the action is better and effects are fantastic I can't bring myself to like it more than The Terminator
T1 has potential late ‘80s vibes and T2 has potent early ‘90s vibes. The commodification and Nickelodeonization of the ‘80s culture for consumption by kids in the ‘90s was such a thing, and that’s exactly what T2 is, metaphorically. It’s brilliant at that meta level.
Of course. Nickelodeon’s signature green slime was the exact same social commentary as the goyslop meme, when it was first introduced in the visionary comedy series You Can’t Do That on Television, which more or less foretold the horror story of the ‘90s. The ‘90s sucked to live through as a kid. It was one long protracted dump taken on kids. But since all the media in the ‘90s was sausage made from the ground corpses of the preceding 3 decades, it created that special nostalgic smorgasborg that only became noticeable after the ‘90s were over. You’re right.
>the greatest action film ever made
that would be aliens because it is more atmospheric, more threatening, absolutely relentless and has the much better child actor
The first film is nearly perfect. It has good pacing, solid action, and a story that is simple and fun. The second movie is just bigger with larger budget. It has more action and thrills but less soul.
The only thing I don't like about it is that some of the special effects for the Terminator have not aged well. That scene with Arnie's fake head looked hilarious and the stop-motion terminator near the end looked really goofy. As a cohesive story I like it more than 2, its pacing is much better than 2 and it doesn't have an annoying kid in it.
Robert Patrick was absolutely terrifying in it. His effects kinda hold up to this day too. Motherfricker was relentless and unironically managed to scare my zoomer imouto.
Linda Hamilton was pretty good as an action heroine too. She and Sigoruney Weaver did a ton for females in action movies and no matter how hard they tried to undo their work it still stands strong.
They were more than good enough to undo the annoying kid parts. Also no Michael Biehn, who sucks.
Dude, arnie as terminator is literally only good when he's the villain.
Nobody else could ever capture that amazing sequence when he assaults the police station as well as he did.
I care. I'm very happy my criticisms of T2 are finally gaining support, and it's being knocked off the pedestal elevated by nostalgia 90s homosexuals. Even zoomers have better taste than them.
1. you're misreading the thread, most people disagree with you
2. why the frick would someone feel nostalgia for T2 but not T1 if T1 was the genuinely better movie you dumb c**t
The sequel builds on it's predecessor like they should.
Terminator 2 is better.
John Connor sucks and brings down 2
the writing sucks, the story sucks, the acting sucks (besides Hamilton and Patrick). It's a really cheesy, bad movie, all dolled up into a well polished turd.
>OMG! Arnold is the good guy!

t2 is generic but competently filmed action. the terminator is excellent proto-cyberpunk
>the terminator is excellent proto-cyberpunk
How come i remember every thing up to asylum scene, but only robotic arm, machiengun scene and factory scene in the second half of the movie?
Pretty sure Sarah had a better final kill quip compared to T2. Hasta la vista is the top quip but wasn't a final quip
Dark Fate was also better than this.
T2 is only "better" because I prefer action over horror.
>T2 is a fun movie but completely unnecessary.
I agree, T1 really didn't need a sequel. At least not in the way T2 did it.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
You fricking degenerate
topb8
the sequel is better
you aren't allowed to say this even as bait anon
T2 would have been good if they killed John Connor immediately too.
T2 repeats too many things from the first and overall the shots and aesthetics are much more plain. The music also is not as good. T2 is a fun movie but completely unnecessary.
i like the irony of how more and more sequels completely polluted the franchise by fricking with the time line just like how constantly sending people to fight and correct / change timelines in the past would completely muddle everything up
it's poetry
plebs the lot of them
it's also still cameron's best movie
is uzi really ideal for home defense?
if you live in LA with all those gangbangers than yeah
Ask any Korean
It’s a different direction, like Aliens, but it still works. Stop tribalgayging and enjoy good kino
it's a kids movie that lazily retcons the original whereas aliens logically expands on alien
but Aliens is good
>John Connor is a whiny rebellious 12 year old with hacking powers and a terrible quip machine
>Arnold is basically a giant dog with no character who learns to love and understand humans, kills zero people while also spewing out terrible quips
this shit really brings down T2, even if the action is better and effects are fantastic I can't bring myself to like it more than The Terminator
I love both equally for very different reasons
why yes, I'm a radical centrist, how could you tell?
T1 has potential late ‘80s vibes and T2 has potent early ‘90s vibes. The commodification and Nickelodeonization of the ‘80s culture for consumption by kids in the ‘90s was such a thing, and that’s exactly what T2 is, metaphorically. It’s brilliant at that meta level.
I meant potent.
You're only highlighting the fact of why the 90s sucked but kids from that era are too brainwashed and stupid to realize it.
Of course. It is. It's the perfect action film and the greatest action film ever made. Which is no knock on the original, which is also a fantastic film.
>the greatest action film ever made
that would be aliens because it is more atmospheric, more threatening, absolutely relentless and has the much better child actor
>has the much better child actor
Going to have to disagree there.
Die Hard mogs both
The first film is nearly perfect. It has good pacing, solid action, and a story that is simple and fun. The second movie is just bigger with larger budget. It has more action and thrills but less soul.

They're both 5/10 for different reasons
I always get a kick out of laughing at people trying so hard on Cinemaphile not to like things
i wouldnt qualify general audiences aka normies as people op
if you use the word normie when you can get away with saying normalgay you're a fricking normalgay normalgay
u said normie normalgay
I like both of them and I think they are pretty much on the same level.
why not just go back in time and kill kyle Reese?
it's not like Sarah is destined to have John despite who she is with
T1 is ruined by gay SFX and the sex scene
Also Arnold can't play villains
Robert Patrick was absolutely terrifying in it. His effects kinda hold up to this day too. Motherfricker was relentless and unironically managed to scare my zoomer imouto.
Linda Hamilton was pretty good as an action heroine too. She and Sigoruney Weaver did a ton for females in action movies and no matter how hard they tried to undo their work it still stands strong.
They were more than good enough to undo the annoying kid parts. Also no Michael Biehn, who sucks.
T2 gave me lasting nightmares as a kid but it wasn't the T1000, it was the nuke scene.
I always thought it was a bit goofy. I remember being 5 when I first watched it. The T1K death scene too.
Dude, arnie as terminator is literally only good when he's the villain.
Nobody else could ever capture that amazing sequence when he assaults the police station as well as he did.
Why does that make you feel physical pain? Have you ever talked to anyone about it? Would you like to talk now?
Robocop 1 is far superior to both T1 and T2.
doesn't even match up to starship troopers, try again tastelet
I'd say it's on par with 1.
Starship is inferior to both robo and the terminator.
it's inferior to T2 and Aliens but superior to T1 and Robocuck
and Die Hard mugs them all hard
Robocop 1 > Robocop 2 (honorable mention for namedropping Robocop Two in the movie)
Alien >> Aliens
Terminator 1 ≥ Terminator 2
Predator 1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Predator 2 (not even worth bringing up)
I actually liked the Adrien Brody one
Predator 2 was kino.
Please gib T1 prequel with deepfake Michael Biehn.
okay Jeff, we all know 2 is better
Who cares? There are far better examples at inferior sequels. T2 still ties the whole thing together nicely.
Should I watch the Universal Soldier sequels?
I liked part 3.
Both are great in their own way.
This. Stupid to compare good sequels when so many blatant fails exist.
I always found it strange that the Terminator looks just like Dutch from Predator. Literally how?
