There goes another flop for monsters universal

>$750,000 in previews on Thursday.
>The reviews won’t help “The Last Voyage of the Demeter,” which currently has a 36% “rotten” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
>The horror movie should premiere to an anemic $7 million to $9 million — a disastrous result for the $45 million production. Universal is distributing the DreamWorks Pictures production.

    > It is an adaptation of "The Captain's Log", a chapter from the 1897 novel Dracula
hopefully we get a movie for each chapter

That’s what I was hoping the BBC series was going for…but it quickly became shit.

I vote for an adaptation of "Dracula's Guest."

I like how they keep using pictures of Davos from GoT instead of the actual black leading man (who is the only one who survives the movie)

Apparently the movie sets him up as vampire hunter for sequels. Of course sequels won't happen.

        >black doctor man brags that he was able to survive Dracula's rampage because he already knew the hardship of racism
        lmfao this fricking movie

          >people get mad and call it woke when there are black characters set in movies set in promdomimatly white time periods and racism seeming doesn’t exist
          >people get mad and call it woke when racism does exist and having a character that’s a bit jaded because some progressive college people gave him opportunity and education and the degree didn’t mean shit because nobody wanted to hire an African primitive.
          >the movie is woke because a black guy is in it at all and either direction is therefore also woke.

Obviously Clemens should have been played by Robert so Cinemaphile could relate to him better.

If his character was simply "black doctor who couldn't get reputable work" it would be fine, but the unnecessary inclusion of a monologue about how he was able to survive Dracula thanks to racism is moronic.

Beyond this, audiences are aware that pedowood is intentionally writing scripts that pair white women with black men as a means of destabilizing society.

No it's the closing monologue of the movie when black doctor man sees Dracula in disguise in a London pub

As long as 1 woke movie out of 10 succeeds they'll keep digging their own grave.

I didn't know this was part of monsters universal. I liked the concept, and I liked Mummy.

Producers said that they can not confirm but also can not deny. However the movie is now listed along other new Universal monsters films.

The point is to demoralize, no matter how much currency they need to create in order to do so.

I love the classic Universal monsters. I have zero desire to see them reimagined or modernized. Universal should give up, the audience that loves the classics won't go for this new shit, and zoomers have no relation with these characters. I'm more likely to watch 1930 Dracula yet again before I watch this.

Why do they keep making Dracula movies about all the parts of Dracula that nobody fricking cares about?

It's not a bad concept. You need isolation for horror to work. Why not a sailing ship in the 19th century
Casting a black lead was their mistake
