There was a time in recent living memory where a sizable portion of the population considered this the peak of comedic cinema. How do you feel about that?

>"THE flying WASP!"
literal propaganda movie
>literal propaganda movie
WASP isn't a slur
90% of this movie is boring, there's only like 10 mins worth of stuff people actually quote and reference
>It's in the hole!
and
>The world needs ditch diggers
are the only two lines I like.
Nice post, does it come with a bowl of soup?
Oh, it looks good on you though
>there's only like 10 mins worth of stuff people actually quote and reference
The whole movie is gold
Watched it recently and Bill Murray is the least funniest character
I'm alright.
Were you born after 1998?
No. Were your born before 1988?
i liked everything about it except for the annoying irish broad
They were right
Real actual Patricians know that the goofier, slapstick-ier sequel is the superior kino.
>What is your background?
>My background? Well my father was Armenian. My mother was half English, half israeli, and half Spanish.
>That's three halves
>Ohh she was a big woman
it make me want to puch a hole in the wall
What a shit movie.
That is because it is and forever shall be peak comedy. Nothing can top this movie. Cope nerd.
being a contrarian isn't a personality
>this the peak of comedic cinema
Name a funnier movie
The movie is a bit more of a mess than it needs to be with the weird pregnancy subplot and really all the other various subplots. It’s like they took a bunch of different movies with a bunch of different main characters and slammed them all into a single movie. It’s possible to do that, but Caddyshack is really sloppy with it.
>weird pregnancy subplot
It's not weird it shows what was a pretty common problem for young men, especially young poor men. The movie is about what poor guys need to do to pull ahead in life and a pregnancy will def hold you back.
The movie was originally pitched as a teen comedy with the adults as side characters but became a movie where nobody card about the teen plot lines so you get stuff like the catholic Irish girl being pregnant when people just want to see dangerfield make jokes
Be better.
Reminder that this movie was so bad that its creator took a long walk off a short cliff.
ramis' first time in the directors chair and it shows but I enjoyed it. I talked with a real boomer about it and he said the part with journey blew their minds because it was something they listened to at the time and to hear it in the theater was surreal.
Miss the old days. Still haven't seen Caddyshack though.
This film barely has a plot and not many jokes to speak off, strung-along what exists as a plot.
This little Cinderella boy, tears in his eyes I guess
it's pretty good, the Danny/Maggie story can drag a little bit but all the Rodney/Chevy/Murray makes up for it
>5 months until the masters
I always heard about how funny this movie was and then I watched it and it wasn’t funny. I feel as though that’s a common experience.
I like it, but airplane is the gold standard, and back to school is the superior rodneykino
Wonderful film, my favorite comedy
70s and 80s are full of overrated shit boomer movies.
I was stunned at how bad it is. The entire sub-plot with Bill Murray is shockingly bad. He just wanders around mumbling to himself in a silly voice. The movie stinks.
The leeway we gave the Not Ready for Primetime Players was ridiculous. SCTV was the superior cast, and had better movies and still do to this day
Then Caddyshack 2 came out
Boomers only liked it because of their moronic lead poisoned brains. Shit sucks ass
>the opening scene with bra and panty shot
how did they get away with it
It was a different time.
It’s a pretty cozy summer hang out movie and everyone pulls their weight with the individual plots. The Bill Murray gopher one fricking sucks though and even Kenny Loggins got cold feet with doing the opening song because he thought that part was moronic
