I heard Dano was cast as Paul and PTA liked his performance so much he changed it to twins to keep him as Eli.
Reddit: The movie
I always thought that was incredibly stupid and needlessly confusing for the audience.
Correct and I swear to god there's no scenes with the twins side by side to make it clear to the audience.
They were different enough.
It's because the original Wli got scared of DDL and PTA after a few days of filming, so PTA recast Eli as Dano, but they had already filmed the brother scenes with Dano. The fired guy has never been in anything else, while we all know what happened with the career of the guy who replaced him
I liked the movie a lot, but it confused the hell out of me.
I'll be honest, I'm one of the morons that got confused by the two brothers as well.
Classic
Came here to post this, now I can leave.
I'm trans
Been here for years and I still dont know how the classic dano meme originated. Anyone know its genesis?
It's a timeless classic
Wasn't it part of some point about nature vs nurture?
It's a metaphor or something
There’s a Daniel Plainview doppelgänger hidden in the movie too. You get a glimpse of him in the I ABANDONED MY CHILD scene. Dunno what the meaning of it is though
i'm autistic so the first couple times i saw this movie i thought they were the same guy, like he played them into bringing money to Little Boston and then once they got there changed into playing hardball for their oil. spent way too much time examining that
You're telling me they're actual twins
I always thought they were the same person. Eli was the real one and Paul was his simpleton persona that he used to know DDL. Kinda like this anon said
>I always thought they were the same person.
I like the story better believing they're the same person so I'm sticking with that
None of these posts are genuine. None of you had to question whether they were twins or the same person. None of you were confused.
sorry PTA i really was
Quit existing. Your existence is a net negative.
if a hack like david fincher could make it work for the social network why couldn't Parent Teacher Association
Make what work? The brother that gives Daniel the tip is Paul. When Daniel and HW arrive there they meet Eli. Being as this takes place in the 1920's it's safe to assume people don't see twins often if at all in their lives. Eli at the dinner table says to his dad "It was your son, Paul.." who tipped off Daniel.
No you weren't 🙂 I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt by thinking you're not that stupid.
See
I'm not that guy, but that was the reaction I initially had.
I was confused about it too. Gonna cry?
Nah, you weren't confused. It's okay to make meme funnies on Cinemaphile.org.
Didnt understand it the first watch. Didnt seem relevent to the story
no cause I didn't care the movie sucked
He's just like me
>the classic one
Wait what do you mean twins? I always thought it was just one guy trying to con people
It's honestly fricking insane. He had ONE scene to reshoot and he didn't. PTA is a special kind of lazy.
This is the sort of thing that’s only confusing for smart people. morons got it right away, because it’s moronic.
Is that an AI generated version of Reviewbrah when he finally turns 16?
I cannot believe this thread exists.
How can so many people be so moronic.
>the beginning of a brand new le meme
You will see this thread every day, with the same replies, forever.
>I LOVE THIS MOVIE BUT HOLY HECK WAS I CONFUSED AS FRICK!
>LE PEE PEE STATUS?
Twins?! I don't remember this. I need to re-watch this.
HAHA YEAH THEY WEREN'T THE SAME CHARACTER HAHA GOTTA WATCH IT AGAIN AHAHA I WAS SO CONFUSED HAHA
I didn't know there were twins. This is the first I'm hearing about it.
Wait, there were actually two brothers? I thought he was just playing a prank
if the movie doesn't tell you, it's up to you to decide what makes it more kino
It's kind of a brilliantly moronic idea because even today, all these years later, people still discuss the movie on the basis of whether or not Eli was Paul or if they were twins. It keeps the movie relevant because it's an impossible thing to answer, much like the Sopranos finale
It's a fricking meme, you homosexual.
>foood review!
what in the actual frick are you guys talking about
