I miss the 2019/GvK design
The new one looks like shit even if he is only half way done evolving
God I hate wingtards decisions and retcons so fricking much
At this point GvK was fluke that it is as enjoyable as it is, probably because he did not have as much influence on the story as he did here
wingtard can't write for shit, some good ideas yeah
But by God does this movie suck >Make Godzilla supposedly 20x stronger >Only for him to get knocked on his as and dazed by Kong wearing a MechaG gauntlet >When MechaG couldn't even knock out Godzilla at half power properly
I saw it just tonight. I liked how trippy it was, kong and the baby had a cute scene, I didn’t expect mothra to return I always thought her and kong should be in a movie together and, godzilla claiming the colosseum was adorable. otherwise it sucked. it was really boring I kinda just wanted to go home halfway though. it’s also very strange how Godzilla minus one has a few scenes that looked better than the worst cg scenes in this movie. that is unacceptable. why is Godzilla2014 the most realistic looking Godzilla movie?
His features felt more reptilian in this design and while not as physically powerful and imposing as Fatzilla he made up for it with his terrifying agility and dexterity.
I like the design and the movie but I 100% prefer the more traditional Godzillas if that makes sense
I imo the 2019/GvK design is the best Godzilla design
>Only for him to get knocked on his as and dazed by Kong wearing a MechaG gauntlet
The gauntlet is pretty much stated to be designed to KO godzilla, so it makes sense it hurts him pretty badly.
Even then he got right back up after a minute anyways, Godzilla basically solos the entire film's roster of monsters and barely gets hurt at all.
I'm fine with Kong getting stronger
Godzilla getting stronger is moronic though because now half of his toho roster are worthless as they are far weaker than Ghidorah
And the OC enemies they have made for Godzilla have sucked.
>And the OC enemies they have made for Godzilla have sucked.
The MUTOs were a bit simplistic in design but it was fine for their purpose of starting the MonsterVerse. Most of the Titans are pretty cool, though some are better than others - like Kraken's more visually interesting than Scylla, since Scylla's basically just a coconut crab with tentacles on the face, whereas Kraken is a squid-crab-merman hybrid that can change its coloration like an octopus. I actually thought Skar King was really cool, and had a lot of personality. He doesn't get the most screentime, but you learn everything you need to when he finally shows up.
>Kong hurts his hand >luckily we have a prototype gauntlet right here in hollow earth, and luckily it’s made for the correct hand, also luckily Dan Stevens can fly the ship to pick it up even though he’s a veterinarian
The writing was so lazy, they clearly didn’t give a shit
Dan Stevens carried the human cast HARD. Also the nigg from Atlanta and Eternals would be fine if he ended his little freak-outs like two sentences sooner. But then it just gets exhausting and I start to hate him.
Project Powerhouse gets mentioned in the first Monarch outpost scene, someone on the radio questioning where Monarch is sinking billions into. >luckily Dan Stevens can fly the ship to pick it up
It's the same ship he used to help Kong earlier.
I thought he was just dropping down from the ship in the first scene and some other guy was flying it. In any case, still doesn’t explain how he flies the other (main) ship during the zero g fight
Saw it today. It was the definition of schlock; not necessarily in a "turn your brain off and enjoy it" way, either. It was basically a Kong film featuring Godzilla from Devil May Cry! with, as usual, an inordinate amount of boring/cringey/unnecessary human scenes. I did think the Scar-King was kinda cool, though he should've been in a solo movie with Kong. Felt like halfway through writing the script they were like >Godzilla doesn't need to be in this, Kong could solo this dude, soooo let's had Frostzilla
That being said, I'm always down for Godzilla wrecking shit and thankfully Toho has enough pull to keep Gojira dragging Kong whenever they fight.
Better than Kong vs Godzilla only because Mothra + some based Zilla moments. The human chick cutting and dying her hair killed my penis btw. She's too old to pull that look off
If you wanna compare strength between Kong and Godzilla then look at the fact that -1 would kill kong but Godzilla would eat -1's atomic breath then step on him.
>giving a shit about monsterslop stats
kwab
it really do look better than GxK, the most showa aspect about that was the bad compositing
it wasnt that bad just some shots of people running away during some city destruction scenes looked bad, also some of the shots needed more time in the oven in general. But GxK was also mostly a CGI movie
If you wanna compare strength between Kong and Godzilla then look at the fact that -1 would kill kong but Godzilla would eat -1's atomic breath then step on him.
GvK was all about establishing that Kong does, in fact, NOT stand a chance, and then their rematch in GxK just reinforced that. Now that the big question is out of the way they can just hang out and do wild shit together.
Shimo can stop atoms so she would beat him easily and monsterverse Godzilla would vaporize him before he can even get a chance to adapt since American bombs damaged it.
I find the dead eyed look creepier. Legendary Godzilla is more expressive and "human" but that doesn't make it as threatening as Shin Godzilla which is essentially a.. thing. Some kind of odd creature that doesn't make sense and has other organisms growing on its tail.
Kong is still a fairly serious challenge considering Godzilla's MVP status. He doesn't have a death ray but he's ridiculously fast and agile for his size. You'll never see Godzilla do parkour-like moves from building to building.
>comes where he wants >heems literaly everything, friend and foe alike >absolute zero ice breath doesnt do shit >physical damage doesnt do shit >unimaginable temperature and pressure doesnt do shit >just reminds everyone who draws the house >refuses to elaborate >leaves
Kong is absolutely top tier, he monke and all, can heem 98% of monsters, but godzilla is the 2% left and then some
>troony powerup was retconned and newsarticles spill out that creator was inspired by Gokus Kaio-ken
we trully entering the dbzslop territory now
You forget…he monke.
Gorillas certainly have no chance against crocodiles
>Godzilla may be bigger but Kong...he be muthaphukkkin monkey na sayin
Scorsese is a big Godzilla fan in real life.
>you know who lives there?
>king kong
yeah, it's annoying. it's a blatant attempt to appeal to non-whites and everyone else who hates the lizard people that walk among us.
wat
Kong acts in a far more civil and none Black personish manner than Godzilla
The movies acknowledge this. Godzilla wrecks every other monster instantly.
Godzilla is the king of the monsters, he’s the strongest one. Kong is still strong and goes the distance against Godzilla.
And he never won a single fight against Godzilla.
he did in the 60s one, after he died and got resurrected and lighting powers
I hated this and not Hollywood is doing it all over again.

>I miss the 2019/GvK design
I miss the leaner Godzilla even if Fatzilla is a walking Mt. Everest
The 2014 one?
The 1998 one.
His features felt more reptilian in this design and while not as physically powerful and imposing as Fatzilla he made up for it with his terrifying agility and dexterity.
Its a cool monster design as its own thing
I like the design and the movie but I 100% prefer the more traditional Godzillas if that makes sense

kek
*kills both of them*
he is less than half the hight of legendary Godzilla and has a far lower power level

its ok you can admit you fricked up.

>stomp stomp stomp I'm slow I'm slow
>lol jk look how fast I can roar
>is that Godzilla?
What the frick else would it be b***h
He's more agile and seems to be somewhat more intelligent. I can see him taking 4 out of 10 fights.
GvK was all about establishing that Kong does, in fact, NOT stand a chance, and then their rematch in GxK just reinforced that. Now that the big question is out of the way they can just hang out and do wild shit together.
He just did
ENTER
Genuinely and unironically, is there a single Toho or Monsterverse creature that can defeat him?
Godzilla 2019 onwards can just vaporise him
Shimo can stop atoms so she would beat him easily and monsterverse Godzilla would vaporize him before he can even get a chance to adapt since American bombs damaged it.
He's so silly.
I find the dead eyed look creepier. Legendary Godzilla is more expressive and "human" but that doesn't make it as threatening as Shin Godzilla which is essentially a.. thing. Some kind of odd creature that doesn't make sense and has other organisms growing on its tail.
Yeah, he's more of a Lovecraftian entity.
SAY THAT TO MY FACE.
rodan
Nature vs DAMAGED
Best part was how the majority of the kaijus were just generic OCs and Big Lanky Kong.
These two have so much sexual tension.
I miss the days of the Showa series when Kong was a solid challenge to Godzilla just because and Godzilla's ray wasn't a one hit kill move.
It still isn't a one hit kill move. Many of his foes in the Monsterverse took many shots to fall or flat out tanked the beam.
Kong is still a fairly serious challenge considering Godzilla's MVP status. He doesn't have a death ray but he's ridiculously fast and agile for his size. You'll never see Godzilla do parkour-like moves from building to building.

didn't they give Kong the infinity gauntlet in this film to power him up
