patrick wilson <3
I watched Conjuring 3 and it was a complete piece of shit yet I thoroughly enjoyed it because of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. I don't know what it is about those two, especially Wilson
Basically this. The notion that these films are "scary" is just absurd. But they have this dumb comfy feel to them at least for me. Even when the acting is bad it somehow isn't that noticeable.
They also show up in Annabelle Comes Home which was a great surprise.
Attractive religious white couple not in a toxic marriage. pretty rare for Hollywood nowadays.
The Conjuring is the perfect marriage of classic fancy horror and modern Hollywood lowbrow horror. It's poifect.
>modern
Conjuring is horrorer than insidious, there I say it
They're important franchises for 21st cent horror along with some others (Saw, Hostel, Cabin Fever, REC) and certain movies
Insidious especially. I like how Insidious does jump scares. They build up tension and are expected but not quite how you think.
There's a Conjuring sequel and an Insidious spinoff being released next year btw
which one of them has the spooky appearing in frames in some sideline background before making the actual front and center focus of the characters
They're actually not bad. And I usually hate "jump scare" movie.
Of all the horror movies that exist. These are certainly two of them.
why did the ghosts keep appearing behind him
Its a great gag to have one person oblivious to the shit right behind them while another character they're talking to sees it clear as day
I watched the latest insidious and mixed it up with sinister and was very confused, waiting for Babylonian demons and snuff movies.
The black love interest was a total miscast. She wasn't appealing and you could tell the role was envisioned as some white manic pixie dream girl.
Kevin costner doesnt age, does he.
patrick wilson and vera farmiga are a certified kino combo couple
At some point Jesus is going to make an appearance in the Conjuring universe to just beat up Valak and Annabelle to a pulp.
jesus was a limp wristed antique age hippy that would be living off weed and welfare checks today. valak and annabelle would take turn sodomizing the cuck
old testament god is what you are looking for
I'd really appreciate it if you didn't blaspheme Him on Cinemaphile
Boooo go away smelly manchild!
Both series are inferior to pick related, and yet this got abandoned after part 2.
went to shit for me when you have all these dumb kids on screen shushing at the camera. it was just too cringe for me. really poor execution. good movie up until then.
Yeah, they had no good sense when it came to showing the "spooky" stuff up close. Same for the black metal boogeyman. But the VHS recordings were pure kino and the big bad looks actually quite scary when he just lingers in the background.
Still, I'd gladly take Sinister 3 over all those uninspired Conjuring and Insidious movies and spin-offs.
>the lawnmower scene
god that was stupid
The BBQ tape was one of the most disturbing shits I've seen in some time. Mostly due to the music, but the fact remains.
they're well done but I'm not really scared by any movies anymore. lawnmower pisses me off because it's a cheap jumpscare when the rest were genuinely creepy. a wide shot of the lawnmower with a weight on the accelerator slowly going towards them would have been better imo
Modern film sucks.
The conjuring is good but I haven't liked insidious since the third one.
I have never seen the conjuring. Rundown?
family moves into house. spooky behaviour ensues. they call ghost psychologists to sort it all out.
I do like it though. They’re not really original by any means but they’re competently made at least. formulaic can still be good when done well
