I understand liking all of 'book 1', even the couple of duds since they were so early on it was still relatively fresh.
I can even understand hating the MCU for what it did to modern cinema.
But I absolutely cannot understand how people are invested in the MCU post Endgame. I tried, but Wandavision fell on it's face, and that was the BEST of the D+ shows. The only movies I've seen since Endgame are the Spider-Man movies, and about half of Multiverse before I shut it off. Zero interest in the Black Widow movie, even though I thought she was one of the better parts of Avengers 2, 3, and 4, negative interest in Eternals or Shang Chi or any of the other shit.
Thor 4 looked awful from the opening of the first teaser where we find out that Thor is -yet again, for the 5th fricking time now- finding who he truly is and what it means to be Thor.
The only slight interest I have right now is the next Guardians movie, but knowing that the're going to kill off probably everyone other than Star Lord and Nebula/Gamora in the next GOTG movie I just really can't give a shit.
They really fricked up by not having some big bad make waves right out of the gate of Endgame. It feels like this current phase is just a bunch of floundering nonsense that's not really moving towards anything.

Guardians is actually one of my favorite Marvel movies mainly because it feels like an actual movie sometimes, characters have emotions, arcs, and while the humor is the typical quip shit, it's better than the recent stuff. It's a solid movie, I'd give it a 7/10.

GOTG2 sucked and focused too much on forced joke moments with an added pause for laughs like in a sitcom while in the first movie it flowed more naturally.

I understand liking all of 'book 1', even the couple of duds since they were so early on it was still relatively fresh.
I can even understand hating the MCU for what it did to modern cinema.
But I absolutely cannot understand how people are invested in the MCU post Endgame. I tried, but Wandavision fell on it's face, and that was the BEST of the D+ shows. The only movies I've seen since Endgame are the Spider-Man movies, and about half of Multiverse before I shut it off. Zero interest in the Black Widow movie, even though I thought she was one of the better parts of Avengers 2, 3, and 4, negative interest in Eternals or Shang Chi or any of the other shit.
Thor 4 looked awful from the opening of the first teaser where we find out that Thor is -yet again, for the 5th fricking time now- finding who he truly is and what it means to be Thor.
The only slight interest I have right now is the next Guardians movie, but knowing that the're going to kill off probably everyone other than Star Lord and Nebula/Gamora in the next GOTG movie I just really can't give a shit.

Guardians is actually one of my favorite Marvel movies mainly because it feels like an actual movie sometimes, characters have emotions, arcs, and while the humor is the typical quip shit, it's better than the recent stuff. It's a solid movie, I'd give it a 7/10.

Everything about GoTG is ironic. There isn't an once of sincerity in those two movies. You're a fool if you think otherwise. Gunn has been using the touchy father issues shit in all his movies and those scenes are manipulative and troupe-y as frick.

Stories about daddy, mommy, children, puppy, and soul mate shit are the go-to for hack screenwriters whenever they want to inject some emotion in their scripts. Just have bullshit about one of them dying and you you not appreciating the time you had together, and you've an easy tear-jerker.
I never read thor comics but I know making him a goof in the movies was shit to me.
I don't understand why they can't just make a fun action adventure movie where humour is implicit from the situation rather because an executive says their brand is that every 96 seconds the story has to grind to a halt so 2 characters can have an overly long and awkward semi-improv Family Guy conversation. I don't understand why they think I should give a shit about anything in these movies when they write their characters to not even care about what's going on in these movies or the alleged threats that present the complication element of a basic narrative.
That's a lot harder to do.
Inserting quips at every designated second can be done with an algorithm.

The quips are there to wink at and nudge the audience, letting them know the film is in on the joke. They want the consumer to think that the ridiculousness isn't something they should suspend disbelief for, but to laugh at.
Sincerity is anathema to them, because it opens them up to mockery they can't control.

Whedon's main shows definitely were capable of sincerity, but it's telling that he always had executive producers on hand that could tell him no.

The Guardians series is among the best written of all of them. The problem is that the executives see that success and think they must emulate the same style across all of their offerings, especially the other cosmic movies. They should have opted for different flavors and styles across various movies to give us some variety.

The GotG presence in L&T was utterly unnecessary. They didn't do anything for the story at all. The 'deep' convo with Starlord could've been had with anyone.
It really feels like the GotG involvement was a studio mandate following the end of Endgame.
GotG 3 was originally supposed to come out before Love and Thunder, so Thor would have been in the Guardians movie a bit, and then probably left. Due to the switching of releases they kinda had to have the Guardians in Thor for a bit
Not really. If the movies was about thor and guardians and not taika self insert, jane and valkyrie it would have been miles better
