They actually brought back the original cast for this dumpster fire

Stephen Spielberg is rolling in his grave.

He's spinning.

They re-released it so that's not saying much. I actually saw the original screening in 93.

I loved when T-Rex showed up and said "it's dino time" and dinoed all over protagonists, one of the moments of all time.

Unironically the worst movie I've ever seen. Buddy of mine hyped it up to me saying it was good and I don't what I'm going to say if he asks me what I thought of it.

damnit, I wanted this to be good. the trailer was decent but I suspect they packed it with the only decent stuff from the whole movie, like usual.
        thanks for the thoughts.

There's really only two scenes "worth" watching. The nu-bond chase scene but with raptors halfway through and the last 15 or so minutes of them running from dinosaurs.
          Otherwise it's just
          >muh paleobotanist researching climate change
          >ginger c**t and the amazing wooden man being aweful parents and the clone girl being an absolutely worthless shitkid (I actually walked out for a smoke because the little shiester pissed me off so much)
          >fricking giant grasshopers and monsanto predictive programming
          >shitkid gets idiot plot kidnapped
          >talking to people who can't help them but know a guy that also can't help them but he lnows a guy who knows a guy
          >the same for the b team
          >are we close enough to feature length yet?
          >ok, both groups need escape through the park let's retread old ground and wrap it up with a last second deus ex machina to get rid of the grasshoppers out of nowhere even though dinosaurs roaming the world didn't really affect the story at all through the entire movie and was just something they brought up and did nothing to address.

Mark my words Cinemaphile: In 10, maybe 5, years tons of young people will unironically argue that the Jurrasic World trilogy is actually a masterpiece in filmmaking. In other words, JW will become what the prequels are to Star Wars.

There are very few dinosaurs in the movie, it's basically the entire cast of the franchise teaming up to stop a plague of prehistoric locusts from wiping out the world's crop supply. It is much more nothingburger than the Batman

Is there a term when a series says "frick it" and goes all out, solely focusing on the rule of cool mixed with what made the series unique in the first place at the cost of everything else. The only thing I can really think of is flanderization but that really only applies to characters, not series. Jurassic Park is considered the main dinosaur movie series so when they essentially jump the shark and make the series solely about dinosaurs taking over the earth, forgetting basically everything of what the series was originally about, it reaches a point where the series has become 'flanderized'. Same thing happened with Transformers as more and more movies were pumped out, the series solely focused on cool robots with massive explosions and abandoned everything else. I feel like theres a lot more series that this applies too

Ah yes, the rule of cool navigating bureaucracy to get clearance to see the grasshopper paperwork.

I lied. I watched Lost World because it was still directed by Spielberg, but it was shit so I've skipped everything since. I don't understand how pure nostalgia can get people into a movie theater. Literally just go watch the original, it's still available and will never be topped.
