I just finished my first F3 playthrough since I was a wee lad
Why am I suppose to hate the Enclave? I'm pretty sure it's never actually articulated
    >noooo we have to stop the Enclave make the water pure, even if it means sacrificing our lives!!
why? what are they going to do?

I know there may be ethical concerns about purifying the wasteland of mutated life if you're a weepy pinko sensy hankey-waver but we didn't know that's what they were going to do at the time

The Enclave were the last remnants of the US government, basically the people who nuked the world. In the prior games they were responsible for the super mutants and deathclaws, as well as a ton of other terrible shit. They would show up to vaults that they knew were about to open just to massacre the people there because they didn't want anyone smart or educated enough to organize the wastelands against them.

Fallout 3 does a shit job of making you hate the enclave but they're basically fascists that want to eradicate everyone except themselves so they can make the world pure again.

In Fallout 3 they want to control the water purifier because they want to control the wastelands but Fallout 3 is so lazily written that their motivation makes very little sense since the water will gradually become purer either way regardless of who turns it on and you can't really control it which means you can't really extort anybody with it. And your main character still turns it on in the end and he's hailed as the messiah even though he's also accomplishing enclave's mission. There's a reason why Fallout 3's story gets shat on a lot.

3 was the first Fallout game I played and I played it a lot but I didn't really understand who or what the enclave were until I played 2

The problem is that Bethesda developed the game and has to railroad people at every opportunity

      >GO WASTELANDER IT MUST BE YOU TO WALK IN TO THIS HIGHLY IRRADIATED ROOM TO SAVE THE WASTELAND
      >Oh....you want me to walk in just because i'm immune to the effects because i am a super mutant. N-no you I can't just because I just can't ok!

Seriously they are fricking hacks whenever it comes to overall quest design and open ended gameplay because

What will make this an interesting show to watch?

    Never played the games.

The only thing from the games that will translate into a show is the setting, which is 50s retrofuturistic American post-apocalypse. Not sure why anyone gives a shit about it anymore if I'm honest.

New Vegas or the West Coast in general would be kino, would be really interesting with all the politics, seeing the different factions from the characters perspectives
but they're obviously going for the bethesda treatment, theme park with all style and zero substance, probably will be shit like the halo show

I just like exploring the world and fricking around. No clue why I would want to watch this. Don’t really care about the stories I only do missions to level up.

Set looks good and fairly comprehensive considering how much they rely on cg in tv shows.

The set is too sterile looking to be what they want to portray. It's the lighting. Somehow even the dirt looks clean. Disney is pretty bad about this kinda shit but Amazon is right up there. Same outsourced people working on the shit?

It looks like photos taken with a phone camera, I'd say wait until you see what it looks like with the proper cameras and lighting etc.

I'll probably wait for a hell of a lot longer than that to watch this garbage. It's already on my ignore list. I just like talking shit about garbage productions is all.

The showrunners are going to be a woman who co wrote captain marvel and did the tomb raider screenplay and some guy who produced some episodes of the office and silicon valley, if it's even mediocre we'll be lucky

Looks neat. Doesn't mean anything though, at least I will give the first ep a shot just for the aesthetics although they may look goofy in live action motion

few things disappointment as much as bethesda’s bastardization and flanderization of the Fallout aesthetic into nothing more than le quirky 1950’s retrofuture when the original games just had a touch of it here and there. To Bethesda that is the entire raison d’etre of the series, just a vehicle to have a goofy quirky wacky theme park

I like retro futurism but Prime are yet to make a good show so if the trailers full of CGI I doubt I'll even try it.
