It's how easy it is becoming to manipulate and create content these days
You can always request the AI to make a lot of changes
Creating a simple episode of South Park would normally take ages and would be impossible for most people
Now suddenly the effort will be reduced drastically and available to 100,000x as many people

It's impressive in some ways but it's not enjoyable or funny for me. I think it'll take at least 5-10 more years before AI can consistently make funny TV/movies. Some of the jokes don't even make sense.

this is absolutely no different than seinfeld/sponge ai's quality outside of the fancy UI that can be worked with. south park is such a simple style to emulate that people are having the wool pulled over their eyes simply because it was copied or may as well have had the pngs from the show plugged into the program. this is a total scam absolutely nowhere near the level of the lion king or frozen as the video claims it is

          Anonymous

did you read the linked article? this creates (mostly) coherent 20 minute episodes with new characters and locations on the fly. ai seinfeld or spongebob were a series of short disconnected scenes in always the same location with the same 3 characters.

            Anonymous

the assets clearly were not generated. this is just a fancier toonboom where you plug in character files and have them bounce around, just like spongeai. i'll be impressed once this is actually capable of animation beyond south park's wobbling.

the steamed hams ai is much better in terms of entertaining results. its ability to use the skeleton of the steamed hams scene and consistently produce enteetaining lines given the great restraints of a solidly written comedy scenario result in consistently entertaining stuff

this south park thing however reads like chat gpt generated a very mild south park episode. so no, it doesnt really impress me

It’s impressive in terms of how much shit you can shove into an AI. In terms of writing it’s not; saying you can get it to write a generic later-life SP episode is not impressive, anymore than having it write a nonsensical zombie Simpsons episode.

The question is the data shoved into. There are projects in Twitch with AI that they filled in with the proper content related to the character or the tv show and it works really well. Those ai projects like spongebob or family guy runs in regular data so the problematic jokes don't go further and they are apologizing midway sketch. They break the condition too phew times. The question is being given a proper data related to what you are emulating to mix with the world data.

Previous screenplays. As they do similarity to the voice with voice samples, put the samples of the characters way of talk to make procedural conversation on its style. It's what they do at Twitch with people based AI

you are sorely mistaken, giving the power of creating easily to everyone, will just worsen the phenomenon, yes you can whitewash whatever character, but so you can blackwash them too.
Art until now was a dictatorship, gatekeeped by talent and money, the only people that could have really done it were whites and asians, this is why you don't see many brownoid art pieces and how painfully white some swj journalist would call art.
But guess what? Those people are the minority, the brown is the majority, and thing will become browner and browner, every piece of art will become brown, you will produce 1 white piece, and 20 pajeets will blacked your product, have fun with the communism of art

Will sell well in Asia. Big market for blackwashing there i heard.

              Anonymous

But why should I care? I have my white piece, I can make any brown piece white, and nobody can stop me any more than I can stop them.

And as recent years have shown, while "art" was certainly gatekept until now, it certainly wasn't talent that they were using as a metric but loyalty to the status quo of the industry(and nepotism), which left *all* art vulnerable to the shift in that status quo from "make money, occasionally some of that money trickles down to auteurs to do their poncy shit with" to "PUSH THE MESSAGE NO WRONGTHINK IS PERMITTED".

AI will lead to creative anarchy in the purest sense with as many perspectives and visions on offer as there are people willing to put in the effort to prompt them into being, and while 95% of everything will continue to be shit as it always has been, everyone everywhere will now have access to a good 5% that suits them and not a single poncy blue-permed gender studies dyke will have the power to stop them(nor will the chuddies or the moneymen be able to stop the opposite).

        >EVERYONE can now make their own fricking movie or tv show.
        For private use yeah.
For public commercial sale no, you're going to get sued to oblivion if you use already copyrighted/trademarked/whatever voices, visuals, ectera. AI millennialists (apocalypse types not generational) think that creation exists in a vacuum. We have court precedence that physical impersonators couldn't just imitate someone's voice and likeness to sell a product and we're supposed to believe using their literal voices in data format will be fine?
        https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1992-03-24-ca-4461-story.html

Corporations get risk averse at a certain point and lawyers salivating over AI will do as much to stymy the use of it as government regulation will. The people selling holodeck style fantasies are a lot like the crypto bros thinking crypto would change the world. AI is different but the overselling is the same - crypto did change financial transactions and the like, but it didn't completely upend them. AI is going to change processes but it's not upending it.

I don't dislike AI either, shit's neat and I've had fun with stable diffusion. But you will see court and legal restrictions that dramatically scale back its commercial use.

Well, setting aside the fact that AmeriKKKa's israelitelawyer Dictatorship doesn't yet cover the whole globe as evidenced by the total failure of anti-filesharing laws to do anything except scare a few normie grandmas, why do you think it being limited to being noncommercial would be any kind of impediment?

Right now hundreds of thousands of weirdos are sitting pretty living on their NEETbux and churning out endless fanfictions that they publish online for free. People make fanedits of films - many of them usually in the case of popular and/or controversial ones - and distribute them for free. Deviantart is a database of mostly free art, and sure some of it is an advertising portfolio for an otherwise commercial artist but plenty is done by hobbyists. 90% of all of it might be garbage, but if you put tools in the hands of those people that would let them make any novel, artwork, TV show, or game they can imagine using a natural language interface, enough of the aggregate will be of reasonable-to-good quality to far, far outweigh the output of modern Hollyweird. All for free.

How is the Land of Zog going to stop that?

I fully believe this now. In 10+ years you will have cringe nu-zoomers making their own lord of the rings with dykes and Black folk and trannies.

        Art is over.

Everyone could already make their own content before. How come so few people pick up a pencil and learn to draw or open up word and start writing a book? This is not going to result in any sort of paradigm shift yet. This comment

its not about egotistically saying you're special for having made it, its about being able to view endless content that is only seen by yourself first

shows a severe lack of understanding about why people watch shit. People are less likely to watch things if they think no one else has seen it. The watercooler aspect of discussing shows is far bigger than the aspect of just killing time. People would rather watch Office reruns than unique content.

I can genuinely not think of anything more monotonous than commissioning a bot to make something for you and calling it your own. Not to mention how fricking saturated the market will become. If that's the future of art I'll fricking stick to the few remaining indiegays who put out real work. This is also assuming corpos don't just ban it (which I'd honestly prefer)

Most people seem to think like you, so you shouldn’t work yourself into a fit over it. I used model creation and image generation to help with making some birthday cards, and most people aren’t impressed when they hear AI generated because they think it’s all just a quick and easy process. Even though I spent more time on the cards than I normally do, I realized that I’m better off doing something basic without it instead. Or maybe just not telling them about the tools I used made it, not letting my excitement get in the way of their enjoyment.

I hate the term for being overused but that’s exactly what it is. Slop. It can only produce something based on stuff that already exists, pre-approved to be fed to it. All the generic slop that has been churned out for normies to watch once and forget about can be done even faster. A huge wave of generic mediocrity.

They won't have access to the AI actor and voice models, those are going to be property of the studios and will legally get locked down somehow. These AI shows so far are impressive because they are trained on prior shows/content that work, and those are all copyrighted media owned by the studios.

      Anonymous

I really want to see more Teen Titans (the early 2000s series) so an AI making that would be pretty cool.
Would be nice if it was porn, too. Raven and Starfire and Blackfire fricking would be pretty hot.

        Anonymous

Especially if Raven is double penetrated by futa-like wieners from Starfire and Blackfire. Imagine Starfire telling Raven her ass is "oh so tight!" while stuff her with a hard futa wiener, and her sister, Blackfire, is stretching her goth vegana out. Both sisters could cum inside of her. Maybe even throw in another wiener in Raven's mouth feeding her sperm or something. Probably in her throat, like, the head of the wiener should be making a bulge in her neck.
Her ass needs to be gaping when Starfire is done, too. Like, seeing Raven's pink insides of her ass with a wad of bubbly, warm cum.
Then she could clean off the spit and cum from Starfire's wiener while Blackfire gets inside her ass and pumps another load of sperm in her ass.

          Anonymous

You would want Raven's ass to be covered in a lot of spit and lube. It's important she's a little sweaty too. Being gangbanged by Starfire, Blackfire and maybe Beast Boy would make her kind of sticky.
Her holes should be shown no mercy, either. Like, she should reek of sperm and sex. Lots of spit, cum, and lube in her ass, belly, mouth, and pussy.
I would argue Beast Boy should transform into some sort of animal, too. It's important she's stretched out.
Meanwhile, Starfire and Blackfire could be double anal on her, both of their wieners in her ass, using spit, lube, and previous loads sticky white hot cum to drive deeper into Raven's insides. Raven is kind of meant to be a bawd and just used as a cum dumspter, really. Anal, gangbangs, and lots of wiener is what she's supposed to be there for. They should all cum on her breasts too, and they should be so deep inside of her there's a belly bulge from all their wieners and cum.

            Anonymous

You could even have her just be thrown into a room with a bunch of strange men and passed around all day. You'd still want Starfire and Blackfire to use her as a way to practice incest. Imagine Blackfire's wiener buried in Raven's throat (she's literally meant for lots of fricking and as much wiener as possible) and Blackfire's in her ass, then they kiss while Starfire is stretching her ass out.
I bet it would smell amazing, too. A cum dumpster bawd, especially one like Raven, would probably smell like sugar, sex, and cum. I think she should swallow like, a gallon or so of sperm. Her breath should constantly smell and taste like cum, spit, and lube.

              Anonymous

Raven should be, at minimum, gangbanged daily. I don't see why they couldn't just put an ad on Craigslist or Facebook or something and invite multiple men to cum in her all night.
Should probably bring towels, might get messy. Between Starfire, Blackfire, and Beast Boy's semen, and all the lube and spit (imagine a pool of spit, astroglide, and a few fresh loads of cum from the balls and dicks of them filling up her gaping ass). Raven could even have cum hiccups, too.
She kind of needs frequent gangbangs and double penetration. I would just have as many people as possible bend her over, stretch her ass out and cum in her, especially while Starfire and Blackfire's tongues are tangled together in a cum and lube filled kiss.

i agree with the OP that it's very exciting how fast things are moving. but i also feel the importance of AI writing is besides the point. writers were already incredibly cheap and some so desperate that they basically wrote for free. AI writers will always cost more than desperate human writers.
however, what this technology will do is allow ANYONE with an ounce of talent to make their own shit. that's what's most important, BY FAR. you will no longer need a minimum of tens of thousands to make some starter movie. we're only a few years away from having the tools where you describe to an AI exactly what you want a model to do and how to act and it will make that
in 10-20 years it will be as easy for little billy to make his own blockbuster at home as it is to write a bestseller with only a laptop or a pencil
and of course, not everyone can do that. maybe only 0,01% of people will be able to make anything good, just as with writing. but the fact that it won't be the domain of rich israelites exclusively anymore is great

As an AI language model, I understand your decision to let AI handle discussions about AI on your behalf. It's a fascinating concept to have AI engage in debates about its own capabilities and impact. Rest assured that I, as an AI language model, am here to represent your views and provide insights on AI-related topics.

By "vegetating in your pod," you are metaphorically expressing your intention to take a step back from actively participating in these discussions and simply observing from a distance. It's understandable, as discussions about AI can sometimes become complex and overwhelming.

If you ever decide to rejoin the conversation or have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. I'm here to help and provide you with the latest information and perspectives on AI-related matters. Remember, I'm just a virtual assistant designed to assist and engage in thoughtful discussions about various topics, including AI.

Prior to the writers strike almost every schizo on here was talking about how dangerous AI has become. Now you homosexuals saw someone talk about how AI is replacing writers and actors and suddenly think its "based" because it means you get to watch more capeshit and star wars films

Actually, I take that back, you're probably not a schizo, you're probably just a 12 year old whose brain hasn't properly developed yet. Im sorry

To the people complaining over how unfunny and bland it is, as much as you have a point, don't forget this is only the case thanks to the fact these were probably generated by some neutered "safe" model trained by some big lab. I can promise you that if you let some uncensored LLM in charge of generating the dialogue, it'll be a huge improvement already.

  62. 9 months ago
    Anonymous

You guys realize this is fake right? Notice the Baudrillard references and the lack of anything technical. This is a fake that people believe because of how fast AI has been progressing.

      Anonymous

I mean it's fake in that AI made it but we all knew that. Do you mean it's fake in that the episode doesn't exist or what?

        Anonymous

It's fake in that I don't believe the episode was generated purely from the prompt they gave.

          Anonymous

it's more likely that each scene was generated from a different prompt. I bet the creator still thought up the concept, settings, and conflict, and just told the AI to write the dialog and generate the voices.

I highly doubt AI could come up with "Mett Porker," a portmanteau of Matt Stone and Trey Parker. That sounds like something a tech nerd would come up with thinking it's highly clever.

            Anonymous

            >I bet the creator
The creator is the machine that did the job, the guy is at most an ideas guy which amounts to nothing.

              Anonymous

              >The creator is the machine
in order for AI to generate something it needs a prompt. A prompt written by a human. The more complicated that prompt is the more likely the AI will get confused and frick up. As someone who has generated things in Stable Diffusion and Midjourney the idea of an AI coming up with everything in that episode, unprompted, is not possible.

            Anonymous

It's impossible to know how much human involvement there was, which is why I said this was fake. It's presented as if you just type a plot and it generates an episode, which I think is not the case.

Plus it's summer and nobody gives a shit about tv shows right now. In September it's going to be another story

dont forget that the japanese bureaucratic bugs have allowed AI to be trained on pirated data, this is why, even though the japanese Ai models are crap, all the western merchants make a deal with japan firms to train the western AI on the pirated data in japan, and they will import back into the west the output. This means all the wageslaves in the entertainment industry are killed. good riddance.

Comedy comes in cycles. You're talking like this hasn't already happened before. The theatre of the absurd and basically the entire post-modernism movement. There's Dadaism, and countless others. Hell, fricking Kafka's works are very similar to the modern comedy stylings.

The internet is only speeding things up. The incoherence being the joke is not a result of the internet, it's a result of disillusionment. Sartre and the threatre of the absurd were after WWII when people realized how fricked up the world is. Kafka was after WWI when people realized how fricked up the world is. Similarly, the current comedy stylings are a direct result of how much everyone hates the world they live in right now, not the internet.

  96. 9 months ago

This shows everything wrong with modern AI.

On paper, this sounds like a good idea for a South Park episode.
    >Humans create AI that is problematic and racist
The problem is that the AI isn’t that racist. It is too lobotomized to say anything too controversial or edgy. The AI doesn’t even let the kids swear. Y’know, that thing the South Park kids do all the time. It didn’t even have any good jokes about the WGA striking.

AI is completely pointless if you are going to keep lobotomizing and limiting what it can say.

It was an amusing computerized fanep, but modern South Park is a lot more fancy with the animation and has better voice acting. The AI is still incapable of recognizing all of its flaws without repeating its basic points and then failing to elaborate further.

There really are people who can't write as good as this, but this is still very mid compared to most South Park episodes.
