Ragnarok had some good writing and plot ideas in it but also some of the dumbest writing and plot turns as well.

in 2018 his arc came full circle when he reequipped the blades of chaos to save his son.

Think the original intention was to have the 2nd game be a full buildup to Ragnarok and the 3rd game be full on Ragnarok throughout the 9 realms.
Then they realized they might not have a 3rd game out until 2025-2027.
One consequence was the mostly complete removal of Hels involvement in Ragnarok

Dubs of truth. Anyone with a brain saw GoW2018 coming by the end of GoW3. He was out for blood the whole time but the trilogy makes sure to remind you the guy was a desperate idiot and while he didn't care for redemption in the first games, he clearly knows he fricked up by 2 when he kills Athena.

Well, it would be hard to adapt GoW 1-3 considering how evil Kratos is in those, especially GOW3. The audiences wouldn't connect with him.

The biggest problem with something like this as a movie is how expensive and heavy the cg would need to be. It's why for example Warhammer can't really get a foot out because all the designs and shit are so expensive to replicate.

GoW games are hardly masterpieces of writing (or good gameplay for that matter).
With current Hollywood hiring standards youd end up with people like Kennan Thompson as Kratos and Snoop Dogg as Zeus....you know scratch that Snoop is still to close to the source material, Danny Devito as Zeus.
