the perfect show to fall asleep to. It's rarely loud or bright, and the OG narrators voice is great.

It’s hypnotic. Years ago I was unemployed and had just gotten sober and I watched this show for days. It kept me sane

I think it quells the average boomer before the internet to not murder someone. When a single strand of hair fibers crack the case Bob will think twice before shooting cousin Ricky for stealing his VHS tapes of Anal Jams part 20

Those are fine. I call bullshit on one where dude had a singe tree branch in his truck and used “tree DNA” at crime scene to match it up with the branch. Like, WTF bullshit is this

I remember feeling that was pretty significant evidence but it was also just part of their case and enough to put it beyond reasonable doubt. It alone would not have been enough for a conviction.

It really isn't. It's watchable but you're right, just isn't the same.

Yeah the new narrator is okay, but it's like a different show without Peter Thomas. It feels more like watching Cold Case Files

The new guy got a too up beat is a voice. You need a pure deadpan almost creepy voice. Only narrator rivals him in mystery shows is Robert Stack

First episode is the best. Robert Kraft. Pilot and volunteer cop. Gets sick of his wife’s shit. Kills her, throws her into a freezer. Than chops her up with a chainsaw and through a her through a wood chipper. Inspired the scene from Fargo.

For me its the dude who killed the stripper but had a traffic cam take a pic of her corpse in his open air truck

A genuinely scary one is the one with the old couple who photographed them pushing a girl off a cliff. The shows presentation of it is chilling

He threw the stripper out of his window into the flatbed and then he threw her off a bridge and she was still alive kek.

Reminds me of episode from Murder Tapes on HBO. Where has security camera footage of dead guy almost falling out passenger side of the car the killer was driving. Show pretty good. It’s all body cam and security footage

Funnily enough even with such advanced technology in forensics the unsolved murder rate in the US is at an all-time high with cities like Chicago barely at a 30% solve rate.

that's because they don't have enough manpower nor give enough of a shit to solve every gangland shooting
When it's just nigs blasting each other with tech9s do we really need to waste resources like lab analysis on that shit?

They make it seem like all cops go through all this effort and you can't get away with it for this show, which is a good thing as it can hopefully deter people, but the sad fact is that most cops are incompetent morons and/or don't give enough of a shit to do all that. Especially if the victim is poor or doesn't have family to harass them into action. Like if some prostitute or stripper goes missing, they probably aren't going to give a shit and just assume she ran to another town or overdosed under a bridge. And if you're a ghetto nog and got shot at night in the hood, that murder is never getting solved. No one's gonna talk to you, there are no cameras. The police would have nothing to go on if they even tried.
