More like Disney has NEVER been male centric. Disney has never been good at making male concepts. Why do you think their Mowgli is a worthless little weakling while in the actual Jungle Book Mowgli was a tough survivor of the jungle. Disney by and large is ABYSMAL at male characters or making male characters cool. Dare I say it Sega is better at that.
Disney is simply horrible. Hope Disney's worship of women is what dooms them.
NTA, but man, looking over that list made me sad. You forgot the stepmother and evil queen, but... shit... that pool is small when you're pulling fricking Madame Mim as an example.
>Dare I say it Sega is better at that.
Why would you dare to say it? It's objectively true, even without Sonic. Sega had
If you count Pixar movies, Evelyn Deavor would be the most recent female villain in 2018.
If you don't count Pixar, it would be Bellwether in 2016.
I guess the real answers for most recent would actually be Gabby Gabby for Pixar and Te Kā for Disney, but neither of them are really villains, they're just pissed off and needed someone to help them be happy again.
Honestly, I think that's for the best. I love Beaty And The Beast, but studios have shown that when those little girls grow up the stay in abusive situations longer then they should because of the lesson in this movie. A movie about an abusive prick who kidnaps a woman and tries and eventually gets rescued by chad is a much better lesson.
like maybe the beasts learns to not be a dick after everyone yells at him and that could break the spell. And maybe Gaston is kind of a pushy jerk who learns to not be such a pud. And Bell Marries a decent dude who wasn't pushy.
I think a movie like that could be cool and nuanced.
>2023 Disney
>Making the masculine straight while male villain "tragic"
Severe fricking doubt

Nah that’s reserved for the female villains.
Unless by "spinoff" you mean you work for Dynamite and Gaston is getting one of the Villains comic miniseries that's the only way
They made him ludicrously evil for no reason in the reboot.
They were going to do a spinoff show of the live-action remake about Gaston, but that ended up getting canned in development.
I can see why, it wouldn’t have worked. Also source?
Never mind
explained it.
They were making a LA show called Gaston and Le Fou. They were going to turn Gaston gay and lame. Luckily it was canned during covid lockdowns
The only way this happens is if they go with the obscure fan theory that he only chased belle to hide the fact that he's gay.
No one cries like Gaston
>No one cries like gastoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
FTFY
he wasnt even an evil guy, nothing he did was worse than the beast and he was justified in trying to kill it
You might be right. Hell, they're doing a live-action Lion King prequel as we speak.
just make him like peacemaker.
Lets see there's Cruella, Maleficent, Madame Mim, Medusa and Ursula
Was the last Disney female villain Ursula?
NTA, but man, looking over that list made me sad. You forgot the stepmother and evil queen, but... shit... that pool is small when you're pulling fricking Madame Mim as an example.
Don't forget Max.
Yzma? Mother gothel?

Hard to make him into a tragic hero after what he did to Alice and Wendy
He's a white male
impossible
He already had his spin-off this year
