This shit was considered one of the top anal ''horror''. Every zoomer praised this as a masterpiece of the ''I put together low effort PNGs in a 10 minute youtube video with a VHS filter'' genre. This was consistently considered to be one of the greats up there with other cringe shit.
They turned on this series and pretend they never liked it because twitter had a meltdown over a little kid being called a fricktoy. Zoomers are so sheltered that an engine genre of alleged horror was spoiled by one guy adding something horrific to his series. Before fricktoy cory all they had was Jerma face, empty rooms, ooooo clones are out to get you, statues are le scary and a prank PSA telling people to kill themselves.
Fricktoy cory added real shit to their cringe horror LARP and it got too real for zoomers. Let's also not forget that this is literally nothing, it's not like the zoomer animated a brutal snuff scene with grotesque visuals. What zoomers threw a tantrum over is that cory's age was simply mentioned and the only content is a shitty drawing of this supposed cory. That's what we are talking about here.

Analog horror has always focused more on the supernatural/paranormal so when Urban Spook first came along yeah, it was a breath of fresh air. The problem is that the creator doesn't know where the line of good taste was and he went way too far over it. There was also the fact that he was selling "Fricktoy Cory" shirts on his merch shop, which added another layer to the tastelessness. The issue with it is more multifaceted than you're making out.

Basically there's a really stale, formulaic, repetitive and cliche-ridden on YT called Analog Horror that is the darling of commentary soiteens to upload compilations of and then to add basic commentary
Then this guy, Urbanspook did another one. The soiteens soifaced over it at first because it was so edgy and scary, but then a person talked how it had heavily implied child sexual abuse so it was now yikes and problematic, then the people that praised it had to take a 180o and Urbanspook was suddenly the worst thing ever, with the added side effect of people having to analyze Analog Horror with a more critical as whole.
So people are mad that it’s bad it that it has child abuse as a theme?
That, and the low quality in terms of horror. It's lacking any real depth to the plot, it's all shoved up front with no mystery. But yeah, 'Fricktoy Corey' really ruffled a few feathers.

UrbanSpook made an Analog Horror series to sell his art. He's not a writer and he doesn't put a tremendous amount of effort into the writing. He's an edgyboy so there's a lot of extreme stuff. People got mad at him for it, and he had a major sperg out on twitter over it. It's a bland series without depth, and people screamed that Analogue Horror is dead for like the 3rd time that month.
